I believe that would raise the price do to longer built time for machines to manufacture a spider w/tinsels wooven in them. Not sure Fi has this capability at there ready in house. If not they would have to send them out and that would bump up prices I would assume. Also I doubt the btl size heavy lead would work being wooven in cause I'm thinking spider degredation due to mass taken out of spider to fit the heavy lead which might make it weaker.I'm just assuming so I'll wait for Scott or Nick to chime in on this one. What do you think guys, am I close?
  2. What size sub are we talking about?
  3. Do those amps come with birth sheets? I know it's 2006 cea compliant so you'll be recieving its rated power anyway, but I see a problem. You said they were d2s each. That means you can only run 2ohms safely w/both subs which is what 600wrms total or 300 per sub.I don't believe that amp is .5 ohm stable. You need to get another 1200d and run a sub to its own amp in parallel for your 1ohm 1200wrms per sub & amp combo 2400wrms total.Right now one sub to the amp for quick attack and impact. Two subs to that amp is going to sound slow, weak, booming. What I mean is it wont keep up with your highs cause it wont have the punch that proper power gives it.Hope you understand what I said. The only posible way for one of those amps is .5ohm but I dont know if it would handle it.I wouldn't try myself.
  4. Almost forgot,I never have sucess with poly fill. This is my opinion but it always has the opposite effect for me I don't like it.Box sounds bigger to me without it,so try it both ways and do what sounds best to you cause that's what matters right?
  5. I think you'll be fine with that.Probably wont be that flat, maybe a little peaky around 45hz area. You can get away with it sealed.I would still be ok with it,but ultimately you wont know till you try it.What kind of vehicle are we talking about?
  6. Seems to me that anything 4cubes or more per sub will suffice.
  7. Denim,..........know about sundown,hummm idk lol!!!
  8. Cone area advantage goes to the 12s
  9. lee replied to michael's topic in Fi Technical
I don't see why two 18'' btls would'nt beat out the w7s.You would already have a cone area advantage.Install will be the deciding factor.Oh and make sure it's got good clean power!

How big is the trunk of that car?Reguardless either sub will suffice,I'm leaning more towards the Q though if that's only what you're choosing from.If you were to consider SSD, they would be cheaper and you might be able to squeeze one more sub in there for the price you pay for two Qs or BLs.
  11. I'm old school,I'll never buy square like kicker, octagon like sony explode, triangle like bazooka or anything else for that matter.Round subs will be forever in my installs.
  12. I knew this was coming sooner or later.

    That's what I'm talking about!
  14. I have a 15" BL powered by a RF T10001BD amp, so go with the BL, the birthsheet on the T10001BD should be roughly 1500watts at 1ohm, the Q I dont think would be able to handle that daily. But besides that I am satisfied with my BL! That's were the BP option comes in handy for the ssd & Q woofers.
  15. I agree with theabunai 100%

How do you like that rockford fosgate power?!
  17. Yup Yup!
  18. lee replied to J.C's topic in Fi Products
This maybe just me but I dont think you know what you really want.If I were you I would take some time to fiqure it out.As I see it I would consider SSD or Q for your application.I highly doubt you'll be dissapointed with those.
  19. For me nope, for you idk.You have to ask yourself, what kind of music will I most listen to.Do I need more than 1 sub to satisfy my bass needs? How much power is needed, how many amps, how much room am I willing to sacrifice? And budget, but more than likely you'll be satisfiyed w/1 for awhile till you get used to it.So I say start slow an see were you are with it, then ask yourself again after a month or so.Just my .02

  23. Ineed a box for 1 18'' needs to be sealed.I can build one,but dont have the resources nor will my park let me.Stupid country club noise regulations.Shops only build 10s & 12s around here. Can someone help me please?
  24. i would like to know this also i have a us acoustic usa series 2200 model still in origional box w/papers manual.i also had the 2300f but sold it to my brother.
  25. Even though you're going to be running less than required air space,I think 6 18"s will amaze as long as the enclosure is built like a tank. I say go for it,seems like it will impress. I would love to hear it! But I'm biased for 18s.
