  1. Meeting soon, better stop wasting time on the internets and shower.
  2. If I could just find an "easy" cord to extend it I would do it in a heart beat. The laptop lid won't close anyways and I've taken it apart many times.
  3. I do have a really wild idea. Now that I have my new laptop I want to use the one that is sitting on the desk in the picture and extend the video cords in such a way that I can "mount" the LCD to the back of my desk and elevate it. Then I would place my keyboard and computer on the pull out section of the desk. This would allow me to use it like a slick desktop and give me a lot of desktop space. I could also put my new laptop on the desk and still see the other screen behind it.
  4. .... Yo!
  5. I always sit like I'm on a bicycle lol
  6. Howdy all, I finally took the time to order all the parts for Zaph Audio's Bargain Mini Build. I will be constructing the crossovers and the boxes and throwing it all together. I will say first that my build will probably not be the prettiest ever. I actually only get time to work on this when I travel back to my hometown for a weekend. However, I am just trying to get some nice sounding speakers together and hopefully this will be my gateway to bigger and better builds. First off are the components Next is the crossover mock up. I did this to get the correct sizing for the crossover so it will fit in the relatively small box. I was very surprised about the size and heft of the crossover components. For reference (to the picture above) the power input is at the top left, the outputs to the speakers are where they are placed and the ground is the bottom right. Next is the completed crossover. For this I just used a couple pieces of wood and consolidated the crossover into a much smaller area. If I wasn't working quickly I would have took much more time to line up everything to where it would look better (ie have all resistors parallel to each other and the inductors and capacitors in line. Before soldering I drilled a hole at every connection, fed the wire into the hole, soldered it there and cut off the extra below. Next time I will cut the right length and solder. That is it for now. I got the wood cut but I didn't take any photos. Though I already know I made one choice I wouldn't do again. When cutting wood if you have 8 pieces that will all be 8.5" then rip the distance you need at 8.5" all at once. This is great because if the 8.5" measurement is off they will all be off the same amount. What I did was rip a 10" board (my biggest dimension) and then cut down from there so I only had to use my crappy table saw once.
  7. SPL yo!
  8. My favorite car audio company can kick your car audio companies ass bumper stickers?
  9. I'll probably comment on a lot of other things, but I'm glad you like swimming because its awesome for your body. I 95% rehabilitated a bummed shoulder while actually getting up to a mile of swimming. I lived with the bad shoudl for years and once I started swimming it healed very quickly.
  10. Pressed play, heard 2 seconds, said "oh that is fucking stupid" and paused it.
  11. So I ended up tightening it back up. Another issue though on the Zaph page it has a crossover component list and the crossover schematic has 2 resistors that aren't on the list. Are they not needed? I do have a .1 resistor (that I was going to series with a 3.9 to make the 4.0) but I defitiely don't have the .75. The red resistors aren't actually resistors.....it's the resistance of the inductor itself. In this case, R8 is the resistance of L7 and R2 is the resistance of L1. Oh, thank goodness and thanks! I thought I was going to be screwed on making these this weekend.

  13. For anyone that has done a crossover. When i took the masking tape off my inductor it unwinds just a bit. Is this okay or does it need to be as tight as possible?
  14. I never do, but I always reply with my number in the first email if I feel they are legit.
  15. Quick question. I was gong to buy some 1/4" or so wood to do the crossover on. Is there anything better/cheaper you can get from local stores?
  16. Haha, I pulled out the resistors and was shocked how big they were. I though my crossover was going to be nice a small.
  17. And so it begins....
  18. Bought the Asus. Couldn't turn down the .75" thickness and the extra graphics processing.
  19. So the guy who is selling the expensive Asus I mentioned added buy it now. I put down a low offer and today it "sold" at the asking price. I say sold because it popped up again. Also before it did I saw he made a counter offer. So I just made a bit lower counter offer on the new item. We'll see what happens.
  20. That reminds me when I am doing any watersport (tubing skiing, wakeboarding, etc...) and I fall for the first time I always get a terrible headache. The last time it happened I was tubing and fell off on purpose so I know I fell into the water gracefully but I still got a head ache. About 15 min and a beer usually clears it up. Though I'm not sure if the beer is required.
  21. I started getting migraines and went to the doctor and they gave me some meds. I looked at them and thought, I don't want to take meds. Luckily I stepped back, took a look at my life and realized the issue was stress and boom within a week they were gone. Mine would originate in certain areas and would be a dull pain all day that would slow me down (adding to the stress) and advil wouldn't touch it.
  22. He's on my bench
  23. Oddly enough, those are the 2 laptops I ended up looking to buy.
  24. I know this cool guy named Matt2 who is doing it.... One of those things I've always wanted and I assume it will make the laptop faster and more fun to use.
  25. Might be worth it but not super special. I really don't like HP though.
