Welcome to the IHoP
Should have a bed frame, desk, and entertainment center in the processes of building this week..... we'll see how it goes....

Just entered an application for a scholarship. *Crosses Fingers* This would mean all books and tuition would be payed for with about $6-800 left over

I use a pretty nice respirator that my mom got from work when I'm doing fiberglass. I won't do it without it anymore

What materials can they use? This is rather off the wall, but have you considered Bamboo? It's super light, super-strong, and should be able to take the weight of one man and an engine. The frame must have the equivalent strength of some certain size steel. These things do get the shit beat out of them at the test. There were people who's shocks got ripped in two. We are doing all of the things you mentioned Ryan2. I'm just in charge of the drivetrain.

If I haven't explained. I am doing a mini-baja competition where we build a single seat off road vehicle to take to a competition where we will do acceleration, maneuverability, suspension, pulling, and an endurance test. We are only allowed to use an unmodified Briggs and Stratton 10HP engine so creating the most efficient drivetrain as efficient as possible is a big concern as well as keeping the car as light as possible. And ofcourse rotating mass is always much more of a factor than static mass.

active crossover?
If you are using 2 sets of components I wouldn't worry about going active. I don't see any real benefit in it.

Okay, I am lost. A CVT is a constantly variable transmission, so why the need for one transmission, then another? Are you driving more than one thing off the same engine and need to run one at a different speed? I don't know exactly what you are trying to accomplish here, but given the relatively small output of the engine, I'd just use a centrifugal clutch setup given you don't need to move more than 4-500 pounds. I guess I should have said a F-N-R Gearbox.

Also need to know the radius & balance as well. I also hope this is the drive side as any calculations will be dominated by losses in the CVT itself. *basically saying the same thing R2 is The lighter setup has a lighter Drive but a heavier driven. I'm trying to think of some ideas to really shave some weight. Possibility of resurfacing the sheaves a bit to reduce weight maybe looking into grinding away weight where it is not needed. Particularly in the spider or something.... hell I dunno

That's just the CVT system. I'm not sure of the rotating mass of the total unit. I'll probably go with the heavier system because I know the CVT a whole lot better.

Welcome to the IHoP
Do you guys know how I could calculate the change in output of a system that has a heavier rotational mass component Problem State 1 Engine>CVT System>Transmission State 2 Engine>Heavier CVT System>Transmission When I say heavier we are comparing a 16 lb system with a 15 lb system. But because our engine is only 10 hp I figured it may make a difference Or as the other guy on my team would say, "Yeah, it actually makes a fuck!"

Wanted to throw a question out to the hoppers see if you guys have any info. We are looking for a CVT clutch for our mini baja project and I am trying to find the right one. I am looking at the P-90 Polaris clutch because I know how to tune them, but am also looking at the Comet 700 Series clutches because they are reliable and may be lighter. You guys have any experience with other CVT manufacturers? Also I am interested in shaving some weight off some clutches if possible. Since the bike is running in a low RPM, low torque situation it seems I may be able to shed some uneccesary weight. Do you guys think any local places could re-balance the CVT when we are done shaving weight? Just got a lot of ideas running through my head and I need to memory dump.- Welcome to the IHoP
yeah so my friend just got the Sun application for the iphone... Its pretty cool stuff- Welcome to the IHoP
Can audacity do that in a large quantity of files? I still can't find the program I was thinking of- Welcome to the IHoP
K maybe audacity wasn't what I was looking for. It was a program that would take all the mp3s you told it to look at and it would list 128-320 or whatever and you could set MP3's below a certain quality into red so you could pick them out- Welcome to the IHoP
My goal is to get my audio on the verge of organization before school starts. This includes... Having all FLAC files available in MP3 format as well Being able to organize all my folders by Artist>Album>Song Get Foobar to not recognize the MP3's if there is FLAC available (I am sort of doing this manually by creating 2 MP3 Folders) Ridding my collection of inferior MP3's (Ex: tracks < V0 or 320kbs)- Welcome to the IHoP
audacity is what I was thinking of. Thanks peng- Welcome to the IHoP
Isn't there a program that analyzes your MP3's and tells you there quality? - Welcome to the IHoP
