Happy New Year to you Adrian! May this be the year of automotive luck for all of us.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Amazon Prime allows for unlimited photo storage which includes RAWs. Looks like I'm going to stop using my shared Prime loop hole and finally pay for it again myself.

Its a program that changes that take the temperature color of your computer screen down to 3000K (or at low as 1200K) at night to help you wind down. It makes your computer more like looking at a book.

Can you explain more or point to to the right link. I'm learning LR and have very little experience making minor corrections on photos

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Right now I'm going to do the following. Import to LR Reject crap photos Export everything except potential "duplicates" to JPEG. That will drop them into a folder the Google picks up and uploads to my Photos account in High Quality (I checked one photo and it uploaded it at full 18mp resolution). I want to see what happens in the Google uploader when i make changes, re-export and overwrite the file. I wonder if it will pick it up and replace the file or make a second image.

Also. Should I rent or buy Lightroom. I don't think I'll be using PS much and unless I get a microUSB to SDCard reader I won't be using LR mobile. Not sure if Adobe will release another version soon. Assuming a new version would release at the same price the break even point is 8 months.

You mean for her photos?

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Haha, not what I expected you to say. I feel like I'm too ridiculous on keeping photos so I thought I would start now to not let it get out of hand. I wouldn't mind doing the keep all method for external storage, but the problem is there not a simple way to clear them out at a later date.

This is where I landed that lead me to my conclusion. Thanks for bringing that tip up. I'm always trying to completely frame the shot when I could get away with some extra distance. It's hard to know I'm not going to utilize every pixel. A-freaking-greed. it's definitely a great variable to remove. It's too easy to spin the dial to frame the shot. I can't too much credit for the correct buy, I had a couple guys help me out over the last couple years.

For photo backup/sharing I'm going to start this way. RAW's imported into LR. Export good as is and edited photos to JPEG. Those are automatically picked up by Google Photos and imported in High Quality (which , as far as I can tell, exported at the same resolution). I was doing RAW+JPEG on the camera and letting LR handle the RAW and Google Photos handle the JPEG straight from the SD, but then I have to delete bad photos in 2 locations.

Most of my baby pictures are more blurry then I would like, increasing ISO will help this of course. Is there a way for me to control shutter speed and aperture and let the ISO do it's thing? I searched this but want to confirm. The further away I am from the subject, the DOF increases, correct? so in the case of the last picture, I can get everyone in focus because I'm far enough away, but in the case of a close up on Margaret I have an extremely shallow DOF? Most of my pictures have too much back light. I'm not setting up the subject, but trying to work around them.

Pictures! Feel free to pixel peep on them, and tell how to make the photos better. The general metadata is saved. A quick rundown of my approach. Aperture Priority; I shot at 1.4 unless I felt the DOF was too shallow, then I would bump it up. I would usualy bump it right back down because it affected my shutter speed so much. I tried to keep ISO low, but sometimes I put it in auto and let it fly (it's capped at 3200). I think I'll be able to go lower as I get more skilled at holding still. I kept moving it up and down, depending on the situation to try to get a descent shutter speed. I found that shooting 1K seem to work in our nursery with only a 40W bulb on across the room. I shot in RAW+JPEG. All of these photos are straight JPEGs from the camera. PS- I need to quickly come up with a system to back up photos.
