  6. Sure as hell ain't going to start while your on the hop
  7. Of course they had already been running that way and were letting the alarms go off we just had to justify it.
  8. You know me Trav, I'm a baller! Finished a little project today, had to do some research on a boiler feed water pump and natural gas pre heater and ducting inbetween to see if we could raise the alarms up another 20* and still be safe in operation. Answer: Yes
  9. So it seems its free breakfast and lunch every day at work
  10. mmm thanks for reminding me. Jack and Dr Pepper, here I come *ninja edit*
  11. It isn't really possible to single out the vlave and test it as it has to stay in place while all the processes continue to work around it. Expensive is relative and this is for an expense for a Fortune 500 company You need a doppler flow meter then, but they will be even more than the solution above. We have a doppler flow meter, but doppler is only for liquid flow with airbubbles and dirt/debri in the water. Probably just going to tap and go with something basic. We really need only a barbaric reading. If the meter measures flow then we have to change the valve. This is my first little project at my new job.
  12. only thing I'll give 'em is good food everything else... yikes I'd be interested in hearing an explanation. I've been to florida once (like 10 years ago to go to disneyland when my little brother and sister were like 7-8). We were just in Orlando, though, and it just seemed real tourist-y. and of course lots of old people in florida. and one of my friends is thinking he wants to move to south carolina. I've always though it would be decent to live in a place like that, next to the ocean, trees (hey I'm from kansas, haha), etc. My aunt lives in Louisiana and we've visited her a couple times. Doesn't seem too bad other than just kinda being....a little more poor I guess. So it "seems" ok to me. But I'd like to hear the negatives so that I have a more realistic view. I know South East Texas is one of the cheapest places to live in America whihc mean more toyz for me
  13. Is an hour far? farther than taking the exams at home

  15. Probably 10k though. Good guess, 11K actually. Thougg, with the lack of pressure in the tubes this setup won't work. We are going to have to find something that is hot tappable to get into the pipe then measure.
  16. http://www.rshydro.co.uk/Panametrics-GM868-pr-16374.html Wonder if this may work....
  17. What exactly are you trying to measure? Any way you could just do some calculations and get close or are there to many unknowns? We have a valve on a bypass pipe that we believe is leaking air by and we need a way to measure and see if any is getting by. I'm hoping to be able to measure it with out probing into the pipe Really don't know what you meant by restrictions Sean but it is about a 36" pipe and the only thing flowing through it is an ambient air
  18. Anyone know of a non-intrusive way to measure ambiant air flow through a pipe?
  19. Played softball tonight... Went 1 for 5 w/ 1 walk and 1 hit (walks don't count as a hit but also don't count as an at bat when calculating Batting Avg.) My one hit though was a 3 run, inside the park home run . We were up 12-0 at one point but ended up losing in xtra innings, but everyone on the team was stoked because they usually get beat. lol
  20. I took an online class to get away from going to the college
  21. Looks like I may have to drop my online psychology class before I even start it. The exams are given at the college, which is an hour away from where I live.
  22. Any ideas as to where you would go? Not really. Only thing I know for sure is there's no way I'm living in the Southeast. Thats the best place to live!
