the mayhem and sp4 are 2 very different drivers. You'll have to be more specific with power you want to run, type of car, box plans, electrical, exc.

As far as I know that MMATS 4k hasn't sold on ebay. for 650 BNIB is helluva deal. They don't lose their value either.. their 7 yr old 3ks still sell for 450+

those RE XXX components sound good. I've heard them in a coupe at stand still. I don't know if they are 250$ good however. Look into kappa infinity perfect, they are a good price for the sound quality they produce at right power.

I would just cut your losses and buy a new amp. Sounds like if you do this it will save you a lot of head aches since it set your sp4 fire, exc.

because that amp doesn't put out the power it says it does.

They don't like to make a drop in because customers do not know how to measure correctly or even know what a caliper is. He has been burned many times from wrong measurements. I've seen multiple cases of that exact scenario. Just because David likes to make sure the measurements are correct doesn't make his company shoddy. as long as they are using the same basket, things should work out with customers that want drop ins. This is why I say PSI is good for reconin your alpine type xs, jl w6s, kicker l5, and such

I think PSI is a better choice for woofers that don't have recones available. JL, Alpine, kicker, sound stream, exc. Of course they know RE, cause its the old creator of RE and the XXXv1-3 right? But still, they won't make you a drop in, they want to have you to send it in. Am I saying they can't measure coil gap, height of gap vs coil and make something work? No. They can, but your PSI sp4 is not better than Fi's sp4 reconed woofer, just because you are burning up the tinsel leads by feeding 4k to it with f'd up electrical.

Good choice! If you have any questions for Fi, email first, then come on this forum and post in their section. If you really have a problem with your order; it needs to be changed exc. put some effort into contacting them and you will be treated with great value as a customer! They make a great product but don't run a big operation, and its made in the USA = for a great price!

didn't even read the rest of the posts, but unless you are running 6k for burps only. A UFO btl 18 in decent condition is a steal for 250 shipped. It will take 3k on right electrical all day.
