  1. the BL will suit you well but you will need about 4 cubes would be optimal. I'm guessing your current enclosure is about 3-3.5
  2. +1 on window bracing, since you are bracing at all 4 walls instead of 2 using dowel rods, or lumber. Good luck. I will be here soon as well as soon as I blow my XXXs
  3. upgrade to the Q. There is a substantial difference in power handling. Or since the sub lasted 3 years, why not recone it and enjoy 3 more. Or double up with SSDs since you can change the impedance of your current sub now. Having a sub for 3 years running is a great accomplishment in my eyes. I get tired of my setup after 6 months
  4. definitely would want to run them inverted though to smell any issues and to show the drivers off
  5. So I finally got some footage...Equipment is as listed. MMATS HD4000.05 MMATS SQ4100 (2) RE XXX 12"s 04-05 XBL^2 Juice box black cherry KNU 1/0 OFC Singer 250A Infinity components
  6. should be done this week depending how much I want to work on highs/mids.
  7. I got an icon motor I could part with if your ever interested Old or new? I'll keep that in mind =] plugged pole = when they changed Not forsure when they changed them
  8. You couldn't be more wrong about that statement..... The equipment is only one factor, the application and quality of the build yield your results. I see people with boxes that look like blind people build them, installed with jacked up crap, and no common sense applied what so ever. If your statement were true, anyone could tell you the exact results on any combination. I think that's basically what I was trying to say..but I must have been under the influence.
  9. I'm going on something that I believe in. Not what the term lab or nut huggers believe in..I think that's what car audio should be more focused on. If everyone used the same brands it would yield the same results...
  10. In now way am I showing off. I'm just saying that I've had 1 zcon, its was great. BTL UFO...great. I've had a single RE XXX 12" and single 15". Most efficient sound for power.
  11. I've stopped my addiction by building XBL^2 drivers. Then again I've never been on the TL..cause that seems to be car audio now a days..loud...I'll have these drivers the rest of my life in a HT application or maybe a IB in my next car.
  12. rip the cone out. and look at the leads. Are you saying dropping from 14.9 to 14.0 is less drop than normal?
  13. This is an SSA..Go big with an Xcon, Zcon, BL, Sp4, exc. and soon you will upgrade your mono
  14. when you build to wire to 2 ohm, You can't wire 1 ohm unless you change subs. Go big now or go home. Improve electrical before you tackle blowing equipment

truly inspiring IB build. Thanks for this post!
  16. lol. as I posted that there is a February CT sounds giveaway on SMD. I will never mess with them.
  17. do they even exist anymore?
  18. cloud77 replied to 95Honda's topic in Home Audio
The Xcon is a very nice driver, but does not have the XBL^2 technology to handle IB like the XXX. You could possibly look into building nice HT cabinets or towers for them to get the best sound
  19. I should be going to some of them once my van is playing right on. you sticking with zcons?
