12Q with I-heat ring & High QTS enclosure
sounds like you need about a .5 cu ft more anyways, just build a new box with 3/4 mdf. Its fairly simple to build a sealed box. Experiment with box size, and positioning in your car.

What amp for 2 Sealed Q15s?
You could still run @ a .5 ohm load. A Mmats M3000.05d or m2000.05d would be great amps to look into for this setup. Keep in mind that running @ .05 ohm load for daily is not recommended, but these amps are made to perform at these lower ohm loads.

Fi Audio Sub
you didn't check your impedance to the amp? I would turn your gain down now, and save your equipment before you figure this out. If you are hooked up - to - on the sub, you are not @ 1 ohm. On a dual 2 ohm voice coil you need to wire + to - and + to - on the other side. + out to amp from one side, and - out to amp on other side. Check wiring diagram at the12volt.com before you get stuff rolling again.

Building a custom sub question
why not just sell the 18s and get your hands on some 10s or 1 12. They do make recone kits for 10" hdc3s

which ssa sub would you pick for a brz1200 @ 1ohm
Icon or Fi Q

That would be a problem then. You could go with a 12

Building a custom sub question
so if i could find an audioque 10'' hdc3 basket that would be the best way to go and just do a aq recone kit Yes, if they are 12 spoke baskets they are not hard to come by. psi sells them on their site, just do some research and confirm that they are 12 spoke. You probably want to use AQs recones as they will be cheaper and more to spec than psi's recones. But you can do whatever you please to make it work.

Building a custom sub question
AQ uses 12 spoke baskets on those hdc3s if I'm not mistaken. You really want to stay away from drilling new holes for mouting a TI basket and such, and using a different coil/drop in. Using the same 12 spoke style and the hdc3 recones is ideal for proper functioning of the woofer.

Where is my glue???????
The CA Fi will sell you is not superglue. superglue is ethyl- 2-cyanocrylate, (C6H7NO2) the glue Fi sells is a black glue methyl-2-cyanocrylate. This glue polymerizes very quickly with the activator, which consists mostly of water and other added materials to increase hydrogen ions in the activator the help it harden. Although its properties are similiar to super glue, it is not, it allows you some control over the glue and timing or the polymerization (hardening).

Where is my glue???????
I'm sorry about your bad experiences with Fi. I can tell you from being a customer for a long time, they are working hard to get better. They are swamped with subwoofer and recone build orders, that they put their all into everyday to get them right. Although, psi is a good woofer builder/fixer upper, it will not be done at the level of quality Fi builds their stuff. (Even though that shiny carbon fiber dustcap on your psi woofer says F it!) And psi would be a lot more expensive a, they don't specialize in mass prod of woofers.

Man come on, how you gonna recommend a nice SQ based sub to pair with an amp like that? agreed, you'd be in the ballpark of a BL in that case. It doesnt take much power to get Qs moving and sounding good.

Enclosure question - bracing/polyfill
I'm currently in the process of reconing a 2004 RE XXX v3 15" woofer and haven't made the enclosure yet. I'm planning on building a 3.43 cu. ft sealed enclosure to house this monster, as my goal is more on the ""SQL"" side. The sub's displacement is .21 I've come to a design and have my cut sheets marked and ready to go, but I wanted to see if anyone could provide some input on if I should brace this box with a horizontal or vertical support? Does the enclosure absorb and vibrate this much with that back pressure to where I should brace the box? If so, what materials should I go about using? a piece of wood is fine? The box will have a double baffel, and be receiving about 1400-1600 wrms. I never actually found enclosure recommendations for this driver, but I am open to suggestions. I've only researched successful enclosure designs done by people in the past. Another question is polyfill..Should I use a lb or so to fool the sub into thinking its in a bigger enclosure? Please educate me. Keep in mind another reason Here's a link that helped me decide on an enclosure design: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-reviews-product-comparisons/109015-2005-re-audio-xxx-15-review.html Keep in mind, I would go ported if I could, but I dont have enough space in my trunk. I have max like 3.8 cubic ft for a ported.

for a fiberglass box, when did they start doin' that? I was trying to stress the fact that you can make this information useful in comparison to the enclosure you already have/going to build. Sorry for that.

Re-cone help
whats your final ohm load? and what was it before? .5 or 2?

Box size and tuning frequency
8-12 sq inches of port area per cubic foot is a good start.
