Hey Shawn and everyone @ Ficaraudio.com, First of all I would like to compliment on the new ordering process and how you give an order status with each order placed. Its very promising that my order is going to be completed as quickly as possible when you guys send me emails of confirmation and order status. Awesome to see this! I have a question about my order as Shawn, you emailed me about the basket price not being included in my total. I do want to buy the basket from you guys,(can I get an old school silver one=]) I just don't know how you want me to pay you guys...do you have a paypal I can send money to? I also have a dilemma with my order, as I ordered a dual 2 ohm resistance and would like to change it to Dual 1 ohm. However, I'm not sure if the original Motor, having dual 2 ohm soft parts, would be universal to change impedance. I was planning on trading my mmats d300hc for a DD M2a, so I could run 1 ohm, but the trade didn't happen. So if you haven't started the machining of this recone, and could change the impedance for me that would be fantastic. (Saying that the impedance of these motors can be changed) Sorry for any inconvienence, but if this change could go through that would be great. I too own a pre-09 Q driver. I have no idea what options were included, but I know it doesn't have the drilled compression plug because I reconed it with new parts. Had this bad boy in a sealed box for a long time and it tore it up with great SQ while being loud at the same time. been throwing 1400+ with my mmats d300hc this whole time and it handles it well. After a while I put it in a ported box build to specs for an RE sx. 15 3 cubes tuned to 34 hz and the punch and SQ was amazing. Great product, glad the new recones improved it the way it did.

You will love these drivers! I love mine=) don't be afraid to go sealed with the enclosure.

So the recones on Fi's site will fit? it says on the site 2005 up it will fit, but isnt the recone for the XBL^2 tech motor a different design than other XXXs? You never sent me astray duran, but I just don't want to make a 130$ mistake.

Fi Qs, hit lows, great response and flexible to their power. I recommend these as I have a pre-09 and newer motor that perform flawlessly... good luck

It had the 12 spoke on it, and yes it has the large chrome area above the 2 slates of magnet. I thought it was the xbl2 technology and required 2 areas of coil windings..

Well the describer of the subwoofer had no idea what he was doing, it must be 2005 then? its the adire audio looking v3 motor. the xxx v3 videos on youtube match up to the technology of the motor

Hey guys, First of all Happy new year to everyone @ Fi Car Audio. It was a great year with your products and hope it was a great year in sales for you. Down to business, I have aquired an RE XXX v3 motor from a craigslist sale. (paid 150 for it) Its spiders were off of the landing and luckily no one who had the sub knew that was the problem, Hopefully I can glue them down and the coil didn't rub too much. I see you guys have a recone option for RE 3x, guessing thats the xxx you just cant use the name for copyright purposes. It says that the recones are good for 2005 models and up, but I have a XXX motor that uses XBL^2 technology (I think its 2006 model). Im guessing that recone is a little different perhaps more pricey, but I was wondering if you can make one for me since I have not yet gone through psi for any recones. I love your craftsmanship and quality in the products you use in your drop in recones and was just wondering if I can get it through you guys. I was j/w because I thought the xbl2 technology recone would be considerably different than the newer coil designs. Thanks guys If anyone wants to chime in and tell me a little about these motors and the way they sound please do! this is my first time dealing with this kind of motor. this technology originated through adire audio correct?

I have always had a decent sound system set up in my vehicle and have been driving for 11 years mostly in the area of Cleveland, OH. We have a high population of white tail, as in many other areas in the Northeast region. Deer have become a nuisance to drivers, as a collision may cause serious damage to your vehicle and possible injury, or death. I always noticed that when I had the woofers turned up at night and exceeding 35 mph, white tail deer reaction to the stimulus of sound was not to fleed, but to remain still on the side of the roadway. I decided to do some research, and possibly try to determine the cause of low and high foreign sounds for a deer to react this way. Keep in mind this is a hobby, (I'm not just bored) as I am a Biology major at my University. White tail deer have a very keen sense hearing, with the ability to rotate their ears to pinpoint the location of sounds made in their environment, and possibly detect a threat to their survival. (Hunters should relate to this as sometimes they sound proof their equipment.) In 2008, research and studies done by Dr. Gino D'Angelo went against common thought that deer can hear much more extensively than humans. Of course we car audio enthusiasts know that audible sound waves are measured in hertz, or frequency. the human ear can hear frequencies from 20-20,000Hz. (boom) Our best and most sensitive range of hearing is in the 3000-5000Hz range as this is the range in which communication and conversations occur. Deer on the other hand, supposedly, can hear at best frequencies of 3000-8000Hz. So while true that deer hear optimally at a much higher frequency range than we do, their vocalizations generally are in the same range. Now there there has been a multi-milion dollar industry created revolving around a product to try and prevent deer collisions. Deer whistles, or deer alert systems, attach to the bumper of a vehicle and play a high pitched frequency around 20,000Hz when your vehicle exceeds 35mph. Manufacturers advertising for these such products claim that ultrasound, is created by these whistles as air passes through them. Keep in mind ultrasound is a cyclic sound pressure wave with a frequency much greater than the upper limit of human hearing ability. Now the general effectiveness of these whistles is inconclusive due to conflicting reports available. Ok. As we know a subwoofer creates lower end frequencies.(some have the ability to produce lower frequencies than others) A low frequency sound wave has a longer wavelength than higher frequencies, and travels farther than high frequencies, with a shorter wavelength property. These shorter wavelengths are more easily absorbed by the molecules in air, hence why they cannot travel as far as low frequency sound waves. My theory: I believe that the reason a deer will just react in this such way while I'm bumpin' by them with some chopped and screwed, (wildlife demo) is that deer can in fact make these low frequencies audible to them; and at the same time, these frequencies are more foreign than any noises heard throughout their endeavor to survive and have no familiarity with these sounds. (of that 32Hz tuned slot port) So they hear you coming down the road rockin' out.......( Deer: "Wtf?" ) then they hear some "tisk tisk tisk" as you're bad ass four channel is got those vocals screaming...maybe when they hear these higher frequencies they are more alert in their sensivities to these frequencies and to avoid miscommunication between them and their environment, they pause, as they clearly know you are a moving vehicle now. (Although they have smaller brain casings than us humans, I'm sure they learn and adapt when their best friend gets plowed by a 16-wheeler.) (gore everywhere) I have hit a deer once in my driving experience. It was around this time of the year and occurred at dusk. (the most collisions occur at this time simply to lack of vision and ability to brake accordingly) I in fact, did not have my stereo on at the moment and was not making any audible noises from my speakers. (except alternator whine lolz) j/k This study may be as simply put that deer do not like dubstep, therefore give you the gangsta stare down; or this may be more complex in the manner that deer can determine changes in the environment through the kinetic energy placed into the air, and the combination of high and low frequencies grabs their attention, not scaring them. Example: If deer are as they say they are, "color-blind", they may have evolved advanced hearing techniques under natural selection to compete successfully in their environment. I have a 15" pre-09 Fi Q and I have nothing but outstanding reviews for it. first I had it in a sealed box built to specs on a mmats d300hc and the sound quality and loudness was outstanding. Recently I put it in a box built for an Re SX about 3 cubes 34.5hz tuning, and this subwoofers performance just amazes me. It is very loud in the trunk of my grand prix with very good sound quality and ability to express the lows. Keep in mind this is the older motor structure only rated at about 1000 rms but with a new recone in it, I've been putting over 1500 to it. Love my Fi Q, forever bump.

I know my cousin has one, but its the new style motor, its a D2, but its not the pre-09 motor if thats what you mean by "older"

My pre-09 Q started to rust around the bottom of the motor as well, but not as bad as you make your rust problem sound..any pics?

Just got my recone for my RE SX, got it fully loaded with drilled compression plug. This is my first time dealing with the compression plug, so I just want to make sure I apply it correctly. It goes on the inside of the coil gap between the coil and underneath the dustcap right? It probably won't be able to stay in place, so would I need to glue it down?
