  1. Well I'd say my budget is around 100. The tweeters I have now could still be used in the rear as they are decent. But if not there's another 20 on the budget. So around 120+ without my tweeters. I plan to have dash tweeters and midrange in the from doors. And for the back the speakers are on the deck and right now my tweeters are in thebtop corners of the rear window. Its a 2003 ford Taurus ses. I have alot of bass from my aubs but my front is not loud enough. I have to turn it all the way up just before distortion to have it be at a good level.
  2. I currently have a 5" focal mid range in the front doors, two soundstream tws.4 on the front dash. in the rear is a rockford fosgate prime component set with the woofers on the rear deck and tweeters on the top of the rear window. I'm not pleased with how the front sounds so I need something better up there. I have a four channel amp that does about 75 each channel and a two channel that does 125 each channel. I was thinking something along the lines of a midbass and new tweeter in the front, then possible using the focal mids and tws.4 tweeters for the rear. My doors have no bass at all and overall it is not loud enough. I'm on a budget so used and low price is what I'm looking for. Just thought I'd add: I can fit a 5.25, 6.5 5x7 and 6x8s in all four mounting locations.
  3. I have a Profike HA740 4 channel amp with Rockford fosgate components on the rear and two focal midrange on the front all at 4 ohms. Maxed the gains out to all four channels and I have no clipping or distortion. Checked it with a local shop and they said no clipping at all. Profile amps equal amazing. They are now out of business though:( Messed the title up, I meant HA740.
  4. Set it on a 57hz tone, which is in the middle of the 35-80 and I played white girl with some insane clipping. I just set it by ear on that song.
  5. I'm using a dmm. Would 40 work with my bass boost? because I bet there's a frequency that rises more than 40 :/
  6. I have a Soundstream TRX 2.550 and I need to properly set the gains for my subs. I checked the sticky in this section and it says to use the frequency that the bass boosts uses. My boost is +18 from 35-80hz. So what tone should I use?? I wish I didn't have to use the Bass boost knob but I have no other way to turn the subwoofer level down as I am on a factory stereo. If I turn the bass down on the factory stereo it turns the bass down for all speakers making it sound bad. Thanks
  7. It would work but not smoothly. He wants to do gaming too, I would have a lot more confidence running my own dedicated card. I've been through the whole computer stage and I've built many desktops and laptops. I know my stuff.
  8. Neither of those have a dedicated graphics card = fail. You need a dedicated card to do gaming. No.. not if you do Cloud Gaming which is what i was talking about earlier. It is a very nice technology that allows a user to save money on the requirement of upgrading hardware over time to keep up with gaming technology. You could a laptop purchased 5 years ago with this service and 10 years from now, it would still be plenty fast.. Minus the requirement for Solidworks... I'm money conscious, just trying to find the best deal for the price. I'd never buy a laptop without a dedicated card, just bad idea in my opinion. Even with solid works and cad it would suffer from the intel 3k.
  9. Hp and dell are meh. And those displays arent a very high resolution. The msi one I recommended would be good. I hate a 1920 x 1080 res
  10. Neither of those have a dedicated graphics card = fail. You need a dedicated card to do gaming.
  11. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152258 Should work pretty well. But it will get a bit hot being a quad core in a laptop. 8gb ram would keep lag down when doing cad. GT540 for graphics on games and cad. 640gb hard drive and you could throw an SSD in for a huge performance boost.
  12. So an al around fast laptop, meaning Processor, graphics, SSD, and memory. Hold on a bit I'll look for one.
  13. Never buy either of those, terribly over priced. Unless you are an apple fanboy. What are you looking to do with it?
  14. I'm on kind of a tight budget so money has some wight in the decision. I'd never buy used subwoofers. I like the FiXs but I'm afraid they wouldn't be on the same level as the LI12s. I need some evidence. Thanks for putting up with my indecisiveness by the way !
  15. ssa and fi Which of those are ssa...haha none of them, dcon icon xcon and zcons are all SSA There are no SSA in my comparison:p
  16. ssa and fi Which of those are ssa...haha
  17. Which of those are made in USA?
  18. No the people of SSA believe Kevin is crap, he is not. HE was not a dealer he was undercutting SSA which is bad. Ohh, so hes not an actual dealer then? Makes sense, he offered me 295 shipped for two VVX12s. I looked at the FI Xs and they dont look like they would be on the same level of the other ones. On Fis site they claim they are their entry level subs. With the BP option they are great woofers, don't only look at RMS. All are good options, seriously as said before flip a coin and you won't be set wrong. True that. But with the price added together those add up to be 342 shipped. So VVX are still in the lead. Race ends Tuesday when I get paid!

  20. So what I'm getting is the VVXs are crap, and the dealer who PMed me is now banned? So now the VVxs are out and The FI xs are in? The Fi Xs compare the the SA12s and LI12s even though they run 400 rms?
  21. I've made a few threads and I can't get a straight answer. WHICH ONE SA 12s 350 shipped VVS 12s 320 shipped LI 12s 370 shipped What im hearing is they're all equal. Im thinking the vvx since they're the cheapest. The amp will be a sundwowm 1200d. Im looking for heavy lows that shake the whole car. Sq doesn't really matter to me. More of an spl sound. Straight answers please! Thank you!
  22. I see so many good things about sa12s and sundown, nothing on the incriminators. This will be my first highish end build. Im upgrading from two p2s on 550 rms. Next paycheck equals two incriminators I guess!
  23. So what im getting is their both equal subs. Meaning it all comes down to price. Therefore the lethal injections would be the best bet?
  24. If you could chose between the two running on a sundown 1200, or any other amp suggestions?
  25. I was set on buying some SA12s and a sundown 1200d, until I saw Lethal injections on sale here for 151 each. Which ones are better, SA12 or LI12??? I like low end bass on rap songs. I built a box for the SA12s, would the LI12s fit in 3.2ft at 30hz? I'm terrible with decision making when it comes to buying something!
