  1. Bad experiences with the owner of skar audio on this forum kind of killed the name. I would go with the obsidian 15s for the price and similar quality of the sundowns.
  2. I saw that too, but the amp they say puts out 55x4 doesn't look like this one. I know the model number is the same but is mine like a special edition or something?
  3. I was given this amp and plan on installing it tomorrow but im having no luck finding the rms of this amp. I thought I found that it was 50x4 but the picture of that amp was different than mine. The heat sink on mine overhangs two inchs on each side. Amp says Memphis PBC 4400. I took some pictures but with my iPad but they're a little blurry. Will be running an image dynamics component set off of this. I need to know if I can bridge them or if this amp puts out too much for that.
  4. I have 6x9s running off the head unit currently but they cannot keep up with the bass at all. I can't just leave the backs completely in the dark so I'd need a 4 channel amp. Looks like the id set will be the one then. I like the prescision power amp, are there any other suggestions?
  5. I've narrowed it down to this set, image dynamics 6.5 component. CTX65CS. Is this the best I can get for my money($160)? Im looking for some feedback on these. And I also need an amp to power one set of these and a set of 6x9s.
  6. I don't want it simple like that, just that location. I put tweeters in PVC before and they looked good but they were small ones. I don't think a 3" pipe would look good on my dash.
  7. After searching for a place to put my tweeters with no luck I've decided some custom fabrication must be done. I've never done anything like this. I plan to have some type of pod in the bottom of the a pillar ontop of the dash for the crescendo ft1 tweeters. What material should I use and how is it done? http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i38/snaimpally/Pod9.jpg Something like that.

My hdc3 18 is still stiff as hell. I've been pounding it hard since day one.
  9. My sub stage is complete for now, made 138.2 on music Meca style with bass turned down on the head unit. (didn't notice this until after I metered it.) Now I need to upgrade the fronts. The audioque set with their amp looks nice, but is there better for the money? Budget is $500.
  10. Nope, only high volumes. Box is leak free as well. I turned the amp down a tad and it no longer makes the noise, but I would rather have it as loud as it can go. The volume change is noticeable.
  11. Box is 7 cubes after displacements at 35hz. No ssf. Last checked out at 1780 watts.
  12. It happens on most of my demo songs, which I have looked at and they have no clipping. Kind of ruins the demo when your subwoofer is popping...
  13. At high volumes my 18 makes a hollow pop sound. It sounds like someone is flicking the dust cap of the woofer but louder. First I thought bottoming out, but it happens at frequencies where there is not high excursion. This problem also happened on my sa12s I had previously. So now I'm thinking it is my amp, but why would the amp make such a noise? Any ideas? Coils read good, no clipping, constant voltage.
  14. So a friend decided to go ahead and buy the same sub I have. With me being the loudest in the area he is now the loudest since his is in a hatchback while mine is in an SUV. My question is what upgrade should I go for? With 40 inches wide and 25 deep for the top, 6 12s would be difficult to fit unless I angled the top baffle. I also couldn't do more than three 15s unless, again, the top is angled. A second 18 would be doable but I want opinions on which would sound louder. The plan is a wall behind the C pillar, behind the second row. It's all just planning now, however.
  15. Door open = booooom....vocals....boooom....vocals.... Door closed = silence... This is my goal, except the booms will still be heard. What I mentioned earlier is like this: http://www.ebay.com/...9f8560b&vxp=mtr
  16. I feel like a douche when I'm driving by and people hear the lyrics to my songs, bass is okay though An-I-no, do you mean these?
  17. What about just putting layers over the back of the speaker?
  18. I'm confused... haha
  19. I want to deaden the doors in my Escape so you can't hear the door speakers outside. Currently there is a factory deadener/insulation behind the plastic door panel, so that would come out and be replaced. What should I use to replace that and then what should I use to cancel noise from leaving the cabin? And how much of each for four doors.

My spicy pickles hit pretty low.
  21. I'd say buy a HO alternator first. Unless I missed it, what type of vehicle is this in?
  22. I'd say around 10kw a piece. All depends on the install and your experience with subwoofers.

    Low end
  24. I'll post a video once it starts to loosen up.
