  1. Thankyou for all the kind words.... Still playing with tuning and have flanges for the ports coming next week. Also am planning a plexiglass cover to go in front of the subs for protection against things hitting them and for the subs to have something to 'load' off. I noticed this week when I had a big cardboard box in front of the subs they hit better and tighter.
  2. doesn't take much room need to work on the paint some more the subs are beat up. Still work great but dented.....Hopefully I will be able to upgrade soon. now I got to figure out what to do here After listening I need to change the port tuning (higher). Also thinking of changing out the round ports for one square one that will be removable. Will be out of town for a few weeks for work, when I get back I will so some more work to it.....just wanted to get it all in for now.
  3. 4 coats of primer and 2 cans of this textured stuff also added more fatmat....have a pic of that
  4. MUD I am so sick of sanding
  5. progress seems really slow but just got done adding chopmat MUDDD....... after a couple of hours of sanding
  6. don't have a pic but mounted and glued amp rack then applied grill cloth Then applied resin
  7. Got the top added Had to cut this corner out will be adding fiberglass and wood but out of latex gloves and wnna watch football Made an amp rack And everything starting to come together
  8. side wall added probably can't tell but about 30ozs. of resin and a couple of layers of chop added to back
  9. So time to change something and it's this damn rectangular box....it's loud but takes up too much room and is ugly so instead i will make something to go on the left side and rplace this I lost the pic of fiberglassing work but this is what came out Then The baffle and trim piece Ports, only about 9 sqaure inches per ft3 but I don't really have room for anymore coming together and fiberglassing this to trim out the back of enclosure
  10. Yeah, that is what I am leaning towards. Also I agree with what you said about my mids running the 60-90 range any suggestions? I am looking at CDT mainly because I am using their ES-01 and DRT-25 tweets(which I REALLY LIKE)and upgrading to the ES200US crossover but I definatly am open to any midrang/midbass suggestions.
  11. The ten's now are in an enclosure based upon Diamond audio recommendations and t/s parameters. IIRC the enclosure has a net airspace of 2.6ft3 (after displacements) with a 60 sq" port tuned to about 35 hz I also had the same probelm in a sealed enclosure with these same subs, just not as noticeable. I don't usually trust most local installers/shop owners that I run into but teh one who told me that is one of maybe two locally that I will trust. BTW the subs move alot in the upper frequencies and just don't produce. But I'm done with these and am moving on. Honestly, I think I made a mistake going with these tens to begin with. My front stage does need a mid upgrade right now I only have CDT CL6 1/2" with a memphis 3004 (230x2). I am wanting to upgrade to the CDT ES-06 I'm sure my t/l score will be lower but I've been to busy to go to the only shop around me with one. I've thought about doing the BTL's for the amp upgrade reason, but decided If I was to upgrade a two 15 or one 18 setup I would double the power AND subs and I just don't forsee doing an electrical system that can support 4 x BTL 15's so that's the big reason for either 2xBL 15's or 1xBTL 18. BIG power difference if I do upgrade.
  12. Which would you do. I listen to mostly rock and rap. My sq sucks right now with my three tens (very little bass in the 60-90 range). This probblem was explained to me as being caused by the cone material of my Diamond D6 subs. My favorite systems in the past used 15's but was thinking of trying a setup with a single 18. I'm sure the sq will be better then what I have right now but I also want to be louder then what I am right now (147 db, unknown meter, will have tl db in two weeks). Either way I would be using a single Memphis 4k. Any suggestions or things to keep in mind?
  13. That's really cool. Isn't it a little big for two 15's though.
  14. Finished wiring and hook-up. Sounds great. Very solid hitting. This subs sounds great. Output is real good especially with rock. Still need to wall off the trunk behind the enclosure. More then enough bass for her but there is quite a bit of cancellation. I'm expecting the wall to take care of that. Video of sub
  15. And this is what I'm planning with the sub and amps. This will facing inside the car (instead of towards trunk) and I plan on sealing off the trunk as well as I can What do you guys think.
  16. decided to go sealed. Such a simple box. Have to finish car tomorrow
  17. honestly I didn't try any. At the end of the day this was based mainly on looks and theory. Less then a foot from mid, dash not seperating mid/tweet (like on sail panel or a-pillar) and not on floor like kick panels. I hate to say it but time was a factor as well. I only have next weekend to finish the install and can't work at night. If time was permitting I would have rather built a pod and angled them to face the seats but I didn't. If this sounds like ass I may do that in the future.
  18. anyone
  19. Also looking for a suggestion on an enclosure. This system consists of a ZED Gladius running front and rear sets of 6 1/2" CDT classics and a Fi SSD 12" running off a ZED minlith. Would you guys suggest a ported or sealed enclosure?
  20. here's what's hiding behind the door. Driver's side goto same treatment. Car is still apart but everything is dynamated and rear comps are in as well. Subs/amps/HU next weekend
  21. this is what I went with
  22. not deep enough to flush mount and don't want surface mount on the a-pillar
  23. I'm in the middle of my girl's system install in her '01 civic and am having a tough time deciding were to place the tweeter The tweeters are too deep to flush mount on the door so I would have to surfarce mount if I put them on the doors or I could flush mount them in the kickpanels. Or maybe flush mount in front of the door handle? What do you guys suggest Also can start build log pics but this is a fairly simple install with f/r comps, two amps, one 12", 100 sqft sound deadening and cd player. Do you guys want the log?
  24. Some work I've recently accomplished Sealed doors Front stage; changing to DRT-25 tweeters this weekend Upstage;ES-01 ; color matches perfectly but the flash makes it look bad Rear door Front stage amp memphis 300.4 Bird's nest New sub Enclosure (spare carpet/temporary box) Hit 146.9 at windshield on music. Don't know what meter but was assured it was "accurate" :^ What do you guys think so far
  25. What is the mounting depth and displacement on the 15" with the third magnet option? My other question, if the BTL can handle waaaayyy more then rated power how about the BL? With cooling can I get away with 2500 rms per sub or will it shread it?
