		A suggestion

Its very difficult to estimate the price of an enclosure before the design phase. I charge $.05 per square inch of material used for sealed boxes. Ported boxes are built at a rate of $.07 per square inch of material used. I know this is difficult to figure out for yourself, so I have a Quote Request Page that allows people to input the max dimensions for the box and any other variables they'd like, and I'll personally reply with a quote for building it. I like the feeling of personally corresponding with my customers. That's why i don't have a "shopping cart" feature on my website. I want to keep Gnome Audio seperate from these companies that build "prefab" enclosures. All the work I do is custom. Always has been, always will

		15 D2 box plans

$10 for plans. If you're interested fill out the Quote Request Form and put "Plans Only" in the message field tuning the box way low could lead to a very large enclosure since these subs need at least 40-some square inches of port, but it can be done. SQ is all about personal taste. What sounds good to me probably sounds like chit to somebody else. Ported boxes can be nearly as accurate as sealed boxes, but low tuning doesn't always equal good SQ. The only thing you gain by tuning a box extremely low is actually hearing the ultra-low frequencies being played. Unless you're trying to hear every last detail of the kettle drums in the 1812 overature, I don't think anything below 28hz is really necessary. The key to making any sub sound good in a ported application is finding a happy medium between box size, tuning frequency and port area.

		question on custom enclosure

it looks like that third box is built into the car itself. i could do something close to that, but it would take a lot of measuring on your part to make sure it fit perfectly, since i don't have the car here to measure myself. if you can draw something up and give me some sort of idea of what you want (scan a sketch, draw something in paint) with measurements, email it to me and i'll get back to you with a quote.

		Gnome Audio Sponsorship

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm looking to sponsor a few competitors to help get the word out about Gnome Audio. If you think you'd like to be a part of the team, shoot me an email and we'll talk business. I have three levels of sponsorship. You must complete the first level before moving on to the second and so forth. Level 1 - Benefits: I will build your box at costs (no labor charge). You only pay for the cost of the materials and shipping. Requirements: You must compete in at least 4 major competition circut events (MECA, dB Drag, IASCA, NSPL, etc.) and show proof (score sheet) for each event. You must own and use a Gnome Audio enclosure for these competitions. You must place a medium sized advertisement for Gnome Audio on your vehicle (for now, just get a lettering kit from autozone and put my web addy on there until I get real decals made up) Level 2 - Benefits: I will build your box at my expense (no labor or materials charge). I will pay shipping. Requirements: You must compete in at least 7 major competition circut events (see above) and show proof (score sheet) for each event. You must own and use a Gnome Audio enclosure and have no fewer than 3 referrals that lead to sales. You must place a medium sized advertisement for Gnome Audio on your vehicle (good ol autozone lettering kit). Level 3 - Benefits: I will build and ship your enclosure for free. You will also recieve a percentage of all referrals at a rate of 15%. Requirements: You must compete in at least 10 major competition circut events (see above) and show proof (score sheet) for each event. You must own and use a Gnome Audio enclosure and have no fewer than 6 referrals that lead to sales in a 3 month period. You must place a medium advertisement for Gnome Audio and SSAudio.com on your vehicle. Once you complete level 1, you have two options: I will either refund your money for the original enclosure and shipping or I will send you a new enclosure for free. I know a few tricks to get these SPL boxes loud, so I promise you won't be disappointed ALL INSTALLS MUST BE CLEAN AND SHOW WORTHY TO QUALIFY. Your vehicle will be a representation of Gnome Audio, so I'd expect it to look at least semi-professional. You must also conduct yourself in a professional mannor befitting a company spokesman both in person and on the forums. I hate rude people. I reserve the right to end sponsorship with any individual at any time as long as there's a good reason.

		For Sale: Returned Boxes

The price on the duel tuned box has dropped to $80. Somebody had offered me $80 a while back, and if you still want it, its yours. Otherwise, it's open game to anyone else. I also still have the 12" 1.5 cubic foot sealed enclosure for $45 if anyone wants it. It's built exactly to the ED specs for the 12" O box.

what should i tune my box to?

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but the whole "finding your resonant frequency" thing is a bit overrated. Use the guidelines I8aPony19 suggested, and just pick a number. Humidity, altitude, temperature, and about a thousand other variables will make your setup hit different numbers at different frequencies. Contrary to popular belief, there is no golden note: Just well designed boxes

What size screws do you use?

As hard as MDF is, its still a bit brittle. That's why it splits whenever you try to force screws in without predrilling. Also, make sure you get a high-quality countersink bit, and even then go very slowly or else you'll go thru more countersink bits than screws.

My install pics (Warning: Not Pretty....Yet)

I'm not sure what it's hitting yet, but even with 6 non-broken-in woofers, its way louder than my 15 seXXX. It sounds better too...can't put my finger on exactly why tho. Could be the box, could be the subs....could just be that its louder

and this is my cheesy advertisement. anyone interested in sporting this ultra-sexy decal is welcome to pick up a lettering kit from autozone. They only give you two of each letter, so you have to use one of the M's as a W.
