hot as hell out..... ya i had to mow the lawn and stuff today and then i got prepped up for glassing. Got about half of it resined up and then had to stop, shower off and take my daughter home (2 1/2 hour round trip). When i got back i played a game of Madden and got my work clothes back on and went back out. I got both sides completely resined on the inside but no glass yet. That is tomorrow. The fumes was nothin nice in the cali heat!! as you can see its close quarters in here and really hard to work in. Cant get a comfortable at all no matter how you sit. Straight DRENCHED and the sun isnt even up anymore... Camera has a hard time picking up black so its kinda hard to see but heres the pics anyway. more mud and glass slinging tomorrow...

So now after that, i had to brace this thing up so i can start glassing tomorrow. I was going to do it today but i forgot about bracing and it has to be done first. Nothin but a few more 2x4's in the mix..... tomorrow i can finally glass the inside up!

What do you think this is for? If you guessed T-Faketeen K then you are right! Much easier to move around then the amp itself. I had Two choices of mounting for these amps and one of them didnt involve a spot for the batterys. This leaves me with my only option. One amp right in front of the other staggered. You should be able to see the LED's on the back amp just fine and it actually leaves a NICE spot for the battery bank. Keep in mind the boxes are ugly and just made to see where it was all going to fall into place. The amps have angles on them and are of course beautiful so it wont be as bad as these pics. This is just to show you whats on my mind or i should say what my only option is

thanks anyway here are a few pics of tonites work. I am basicly doing some pre-glass framing around the rear a/c unit and fender wells. I also beefed up the area around the ports so when i fasten the face to the box for the final time, i will have lots more to "grab" then just a 3/4" piece of wood in that area. Ok lets start it out with what i came home to today did my little "dry run" with the baffles on, and i was able to get the sub in there with some "medium effort".

thanks Ok this will be hard to explain......now i need to route the pieces that surround the middle "chamber" but i have to "turn the corner" with the router instead of rounding i off.....ummm i dont know how to explain. Anyway i took it all out, nailed it to a few pieces of wood that acted like a jig to hold it in place. Then i was able to route the middle rectangle without messin it up. After that i just remove the pieces of wood holding it together and bam its done. No way to route it in the vehicle so this was the only way i could think of. these peices are NOT fastened in place just sitting there, they will come out before i start glassing and bracing the inside of the box so i can have easier access. This is the direction im goin with it though

I need vids!!

now 2 more 2x4's under the front lip to fill in the last of the void..plus it gives me mad space to fasten the front pieces too a second one for a little more strength here is the port install....

Before i start thinking about the face i needed to reinforce the front section of the bottom of the box. It is where the cargo area steps down and creates a cavity. I already have some 6 x 6 blocks holding it up and glued in place so i just added some more 2x4's to make it rock solid. Oh i still havent gotten to the glass yet

1 port in the other tomorrow...i totally planned on a Squaro Port but since the flare is so big on those, i couldnt fit it. I already had to reduce the port to 144sq in. on each side from the 200 i planned so i didnt want to use an even smaller port just to get a flare on it. Anyway i thru a fat Round Over on it inside and out so that is gonna have to be flare enough

here is a few pics.... if your a noobster, you will soon learn that cardboard is your best friend. I just happened to have a large piece from the hoop i got for my sons.... heres a scratched in "hint" of where the port wil be and how big it is going to be too. i know its only a small update but its progress

cool man i was hoping it was a good thing --------------------------------------------- now i know youve already seen the opposite side, but dammit this was half a days work and i got glue all over my hands that wouldnt come off on a Saturday nite so i deserve to post it. Anyway here is a little more progress. took out the front seats and center console.....now i can FINALLY work on the front of the box. I couldnt hardly get to the front at all with the seats in but now im all good! Knocking off the excess glue, resin, and anything else that may be poking out

Ok well most of the box is 2 and 3/4" thick now. I just need to take out the front seats and get a little more comfortable so i can start glassing the inside up. There is already hundreds of dollars in lumber.........why not a little more

rumor has it i have 8 HEAVY boxes sitting at the pad waiting for me I wonder what could be in those. Man im not off till 4 and home till 5, this sucks! since i got your attention here is just a few pics from last nite. This is just the beginning of what will be lots of 2x3's and other bracing BEFORE i glass it up for more strength. as you can see, it is close quarters in here, very uncomfortable to work in.......well being in the 215lb and up club dont help.
