about the hdc4
Rick is right. Didn't notice that. But audioque changed it to soundqube due to legal reasons. Something with the trademark and it sounding like something else or similar to that. They only changed the name. Products remained the same.

about the hdc4
Ill show him what I payed for my audioque hdc3 15. It was like 330 shipped. Now there wouldn't be a $700 difference between the hdc3 and hdc4. Your friend sounds like an ignorant person who is just stubborn.

Bad news for the IA80.1
What amps did they switch from? What's their electrical like? Did they wire to the same ohms? All these things plus more makes a difference.

Sub Choice SQ/SPL ???
Assuming i go single 12 how well do the Upper line of SSA subs do for sound SQ like a Xcon or Zcon vs a lower line like the Icon or the other sub i looked at IA Flatlyne i kno the flat lyne is a diff sub because its under hung but is there a large noticeable difference in SQ I say SQ in the way of reproducing the sound of the original some people have diff Deffinitions of SQ im not to concerned with Transparency id like to know i have a sub I've had the gcon, Xcon and Zcon. They all sound amazing. It's hard to believe that such a loud sub can sound so good. Let me know if you choose the gcon or xcon. I have both for sale in 12" version.

Sub Choice SQ/SPL ???
You would think that's true but it isn't. I would rather go 1 12 ported instead of 2 sealed.
-
Sub Choice SQ/SPL ???
Yea it's typical for a new person in car audio to learn that sealed boxes have a faster response and ported is boomer. But it's not true. If the box design is designed well the ported can have a fast response and sound just as good. I would do a single 12 ported no matter what sub you choose. Also you spend less money on subs and can put that budget towards a better amp.

Sub Choice SQ/SPL ???
Yea a single 12 ported is what I would do. I have a gcon 12 for sale with a box. I see you're in Detroit, I'm from mi too. I had this 12 on 200 rms and was so blown away. It sounded as good as a sealed setup too

12" ZCon D1 4th order box sealed size help
Not thinking a 4th order band pass is going to be the best bet. I think aero port with 2 12s will do good.
-
sell, trade, or recone?
Sell it then. Use the money to buy something good like something from the SSA store.
-
sell, trade, or recone?
I would sell it or trade it. Get something smaller like a 15. Most trunks won't allow 18s in a proper box without serious modifications. A smaller sub in a proper box is better than a larger sub in a shitty crammed box.

12" ZCon D1 4th order box sealed size help
Yea how is your box right now?

Heisenberg "Impaler" Build Log (Soundqubed, Rockford Fosgate,
perfect. See i would have just done fiberglass thinking it was enough. Bracing it is. Your box turned out fantastic by the way. Thanks man! But yea I always thought fiberglassing like you said would be enough and I learned that it's not the best for bracing like for what you need.

Pretty sure fiberglassing doesn't provide support as much as people think it does. I think you have to do more to it then just laying it down for it to be somewhat helpful. I would just brace it with it 2x2s or dowels. These subs are powerful subs and without proper bracing you're box that you worked hard on will be fucked.

Also I'm happy you chose the 12s instead of 15s. I feel the 12s will be louder than 2 15s crammed.
