  1. The 2 channel was a old amp. My first amp that i replaced with the power bass amp a while ago. Iv been using the power bass for a while now with no problems at all. I added the old 2 channel to my front doors like 2 days ago and since then i havnt been able to get rid of the thump or hum noise. The power bass amp is exactly how it was besides i have the power wire going into the amp but coming out at the same spot for the 2 channel amp. And the remote wire aswell. The 2 channel amp has its own ground and rca cord. I really hope its not a bad amp... Because i dont really have any money to replace it... But ill take the 2 channel out today and see what happens.. Could it be interference from the 2 rca cables and the power wire together? I doubt it because the rca to my sub was with my power ever since day one that i had any amp with no problems...
  2. I didnt understand what the ground loop was... But yeah i got to that same website abiut the houme theatre stuff... But i didnt understand it... I was thinking it was because my speaker wires went by my rca... But i just have absolutly no idea anymore
  3. I have had a fi x12 with a powerbass asa 400.2 amp in a ported box in my truck for a while now and i had an old pyramid amp that i wired to put on my front doors. The only wires i added was the signals from the 2 channel to the front door speakers and an rca cable for that amp from the head unit. I used the power wire from the sub amp to also go to the 2 channel and i put a seperate ground for the 2 channel. Both of my rca cables run with my power and remote wires. I ran my speaker wires a different way because i thought that was why the noise was there. The grounds are good... But whys it making the hum noise when tye music is low or off... And a big thud when everything turns on... Everything makes the thud not just sub... Thank you! Iv been so upset lately... Its so aggrivating not being able to listen to music!
  4. Alright well its been a long time since iv been on here. Today i gave it A shot at wiring my front doors for a 2 channel... I turned it on and a buzzing noise happend and wouldnt stop... I have a 55 rms 2 channel and a 400 rms subwoofer amp. Does it buzz because all the wires are together? I used the highlevel input for the signal for the amp and i think thatz why.. If i get a set of rcas for that amp will that help? Or do i just need to wire ecerything differently?
  5. So should i get like a cheap cca like 4 awg or 1awg on amazon for like 30 bucks and run my sub amp off that and put the door amp with the old wires? Or would 4 awg cca wire be no better than 8 awg ofc wire? Im 17 with no job but a bass addiction... Its a tough life. Lol..
  6. I have 8guage kicker ofc wiring kit in my truck. Right now its powering one powerbass asa 400.2 subwoofer amp that puts 400 rms. I have an old amp that i want to put on my front door speakers that is 55x2 rms. Would my 8 guage wire be enough for that also? Or do i need to get another wiring kit to be safe? Thankyou. Oh and is there any advice for wiring my front doors? I want both amps in the back of thetruck. Do i run wires from where the factory wires are to the amp for high level input then another back to the doors? Or do i take the wire out of the door and then to the amp And to the doors? Thanks for any help.
  7. What could adjusting the phase do?
  8. Well the box positioning is pretty set in the back left passenger seat of my 06 tundra accesscab. It bangs super hard on "gettin to the money" by gudda gudda.. But thats the only song i really listen to that is that low. And i really only listen to it cuz its so loud in my truck.. I dont know the exact specs of the box but it was the one reccomended for the x12 on the fi forum Page. And no su sonic filters o. The head unit or amp. I have the clarion cx501 and the powerbass asa 400.2. But whats the easiest way to make the box smaller? Everything is glued and painted nice with about 6 coats... So im not taking it apart.... Lmao but if i could do ajything with just access from the sub hole then that would help alot.
  9. My subwoofer level was on -4... My mistake...
  10. I bought a x12 and have made the reccomended ported box for it. I def sounds amazing when the windows are down in my truck it gets really low. But its not really as loud as i want and most of my music just dosnt go that low.. The other thing is i have a pair of harrison soundlab external subsonic filters... And a pair of right angle adapters from radioshack.. Could these be lowering the signal to the amp and decreasing my out put? Any help would be great. Iv heard you can fill the box a little to raise the tuning frequency.. Idk the sf are at 30hzbtw
  11. . Somerset mass? Im from wareham..
  12. Haha he is a kid in my highschool. He has been putting this off for like 2 months now. But yeah ill try and make him happy. He really dosnt know anything about audio and stuff. He askd whats a subwoofer do? Lol... But yeah he said he will pay for an install. So ill help him out by dong it cheap and gaining me experience... I love puting it in. I put in 3 now and his will be 4... I enjoy it.. Its fun for me..
  13. Alright so basicaly no1 votes tline? Damn.. I kinda wanted to but if just ported will really be better than its whatever
  14. I was told t lines are louder through a larger range. And they sound better.. And iv just been curious about it so figured why not? I guess im asking about a t-line... Advantages or disadvantages?
  15. What size wire should i use if i wire my doors? Would like 16 guage be enough for like up to 80rms? I only have a 45 or 55 rms amp atm but just planning ahead.. And any tips on wiring a door? Iv never done it..
  16. Thqnk you for that. I really had no idea. On prices... So that really wasa. Big help!
  17. How come? Lol... Would like 100 be fair? But why not do t line?
  18. I have an old lanzar max12 subwoofer. My friend wants to get a system for his car but really dosnt have much money for one. If i put the max12 in a custom made t-line box that i made and gave it like 200rms would it be decently loud? Or is there something else i should do to get the most out of it? Im being paid to install everything and make his box so i do want it to turn out very nicely if possible. What does it usualy cost to wire for an amp and just put the box and sub in? (iv done all my own stereo on my own so idk how much to charge him...)
  19. So could i hook my ignition switch from the meter to my remote wire for my amp? And the ground to a ground... Then the wire for the power read to the input of my amp? Would that be the best place to see how much power its actuly getting? Or where on the amp? Thanks im just still a little confused... Wait... The remote wire wouldnt work would it for the ignition wire... So how do i find my ignition wire? Ik i had to connect y head unit to it but i dont want to take the dash all apart if i dnt have to.. Help me!
  20. Im pretty sure you need more port than that... Like 2 6" ports atleast i think.. But im sure you can ask someone on here and they would tell you exact how much port you need...
  21. It was bridged... But it wasnt a nice clean sound..
  22. So what wires would i connect the volt meter to? Like the power input on the amp? Im kinda clue less... I def could hook it up but what do i hook it up to? Lmao ik noob question.. But i think i want it to moniter how much the amp is taking? Lol... Not positive...
  23. Alright man thank you. Why do you have two on order tho? And do you know how you would mount them?
  24. I really have all green lights in my truck and i think having a volt meter on the dash or center console or whatever would be pretty cool. Everyone seems to have stinger volt meters.. They dont come in green that i have seen so i have seen some "slim volt meters" or something like that... Do they work good? And how do you actuly attach them? Any comments will be productive. Btw... Ik its only like 6 bucks but i dont have a credit card so would be a hastle to get it especially if it isnt worth it. Thanks for any commenct
  25. yeah i think i will. Is a cheap akpbgoing to just make my door speakers sound really cheap also? Cuz the sub didnt sound good with that amp.. I didnt know till i got ky new amp but then i definatly noticed a big difference.. Should i still put the amp on them?
