ARMYKYLE1's Blazer build! GFY it's slowwww
The air shocks. They're rated from 25-200psi. Right now I'm sitting at 75ish. Almost perfect level and rides great. I had to pull some wire down but I'll button that up later. New air shocks, old factory bilstiens. Still had some left in them too. It's hard to tell, but I gained almost 3" in this pic. I'll do a proper before and after soon. Couldn't think of another spot and I didn't feel like drilling.

ARMYKYLE1's Blazer build! GFY it's slowwww
So, I've added more power, quite a bit more. Sound deadener, more bracing internally. Changing my front stage up a little for scrapin too. I've also added some air shocks. Getting ready for surgery. Broke a window track bolt trying to work on the doors. More tweeters Sealing up the windows. I'll clean the urethane up later. 9PM and still hot as fawk Super amazing custom brackets. Left the rear glass release solenoid release plug off when I put the tailgate back together. So I had to squeeze beside the box. Well I forgot a trim clip on the interior of the truck. I was in too deep before I realized. A little blood lol. The culprit Making some new jumpers for the subs. Tailgate Ripped the roof brace glue crap.

Looks good. A more "aggressive" tire would really set it off I think.

Was on a mobile device earlier. Can respond to this a bit better now.Let us see what is closed minded here. The guy who defends something that some marketing propaganda promotes or in this case me. Some history for you. In 1993, I took a 2 week independent study in college. Working as a sound engineer at the time I wanted a tuner that not only investigated tune but distortion and profiling of instruments and microphones. Steps in programming were. Write a tuner to determine both amplitude and frequency. Calculate the distortion. Unlike the POS that Steve sells, my code actually would measure all harmonics (limited by bandwidth of the acquisition card nyquist of course). It could do this on any arbitrary input as well, not some fixed frequency. Program was freely distributed on the web for years. I tried to discuss the algorithm with Steve, he grabbed his "design engineer" and neither could answer rudimentary questions. That is why he ran from here. Knew that they had overlooked a ton and didn't want it to be exposed where edits weren't in his power. In my lab, I have a suite of Bruel & Kjaer acoustic analyzing equipment that exceeds $100k in value. Also have a $60k Nicollet oscilloscope which measures harmonics out beyond 1GHz. Add to that a 3D scanning laser vibrometer that makes the Klippel look like a home brewed piece of shit. I could use ANY of it for setting gains. What do I use? My ear. Sounds pretty closed minded doesn't it? All that being said. Would you still set your gains by ear when running, lets say 7-8k of real world power, on 4 15s, 6 12s etc, in a none walled vehicle. I'm not arguing for the point of the DD-1, just the simple fact that outside harmonics will interfere with using your ear. A well trained ear is a great weapon to have, but it only goes so far. Also, these guys are looking for help over the internet, so describing what to listen for is difficult considering you can't actually have them sample what you're saying. By no means am I saying the DD-1 is a end game piece of gear. Every time I've seen or heard of someone breaking a piece of equipment after using the DD-1, it's because they didn't use it properly. Usually using -10 to -15db tones. Which is ludicrous. When it comes to setting my filters, it boils down to ear only, unless I'm gain matching multiple amps. Then it becomes a lengthy process. While I can appreciate what you've done and the equipment you've used, you need to understand, not everyone has your ears. I use my LC-1 a lot to adjust for the level levels at which the program was recorded. Closed minded thinking wasn't directed at you only. If I use multiple methods, how am I being closed minded?

So I found my noise issue....
I just got alt wine too... I'm not happy. All I did was up the gain and did some pounding. Shortly after, BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then it stopped and now it's back. Time to ground the RCA's

Hopefully no one as that is a stupid way to set your gains. Of course if you read the thread you'd understand that. Umm, no. It's a POS that does nothing useful. I've even thrown out the challenge to Steve himself to offer up when it could be useful and he ran away and only wanted to discuss where he could edit or remove posts. I had no problems with Steve until he started to profit from misleading noobs. That sucks. Anyone who does that deserves no respect. As for the DD-1, what job is it that it does "well"? Fucking sucks for gain setting. I realize you learn the hard way, but come on. Don't close your eyes to thinking. You can ruin stuff with any settings. Your choices make no sense. Train your ear. It will greatly improve everything. And things can go way wrong before measured distortion too. Amusingly the DD-1 nor a scope can measure distortion. Ok, sure $50k Nicollet scopes can but I don't think we are discussing those here.Your methods lead to the same conclusion. If you don't take the time to train your ear and to actually listen then your shit can fail. Use your ears, teach your ears, enjoy your stuff, don't blindly do something idiotic. I can hear just fine. My methods make sense if you put 2 and 2 together. The levels music is recorded at varies greatly. With my smaller setups, it was much easier to detect audible distortion. But I'm not running "smaller" setups anymore. Also everyone is leading off track, this has to do with gain setting, nothing else. We're not talking about other components failing. Just one part. Stop weaseling the conversation in direction that benefit your argument, which is not the actual topic itself. So many of these topics get skewed because some of you try soooooo damn hard to be 100% right. When you're not. There's other methods. Except that and move on. Way too much closed minded thinking. If you constantly shun away other ideas, you'll never better yourself. There's no point in reading all the replies honestly. Over half are bitching about Steve. I swear it's like talking with democrats in here. Everything turns into ripping someone else down and basically calling their ideas bull shit. And why on earth would Steve accept a challenge from you? Cause you're "mr SSA tech team" You're like a pringles can of bull shit.

You obviously can't hear everything. It's impossible. If you're running double, triple rms or more, you need to be precise. Not everyone's ear is attuned to hearing what is needed. At high levels of SPL, so many things come into play, that the human ear, just simply cannot detect. Harmonics and interference caused by the vehicle will drastically change what you "hear". Things can go way wrong before audible distortion.

I doubt that any of us saying that a DD1 is useless use a scope to set gains. Then what do you use? Just a DMM? Which has no sense for distortion?

I understand everyone's point, but.... How many of you go through with a scope and check the sine wave at your full bandwidth of frequencies? Probably just one. Pull out your little nano scope and set your gain with a w/e tone. The DD-1 is a quick, easy and simple tool. The only time it messes up, is when the operator messes up. I see a lot of pointless arguing in this thread. Most of it is simply you guys hate steve. Which is fine, a lot of people do. But the DD-1 works fine and does it's job well. I've set gains multiple ways and I still haven't ruined any equipment from how I've set gains. By ear, DMM, 2ch desktop full spectrum scope, DD-1. You can still set gains with a scope, DMM with a -15db tone and still ruin shit. I always run more power than I need, so I typically stick to 0db or -3db.

ARMYKYLE1's Blazer build! GFY it's slowwww
I dunno, I just liked the way that song sounded. Some chopped and skewed is good, others not so much. Well I thought my window regulator broke or the track system, it randomly popped and the window fell Well I guess it was basshead problem. The three nuts holding the regulator on, fell off. Only managed to find two though But it's all back up and working. Also Did some work on the rear hatch to make it tighter. I basically spaced the latch off a little bit more. It helped. But not enough. How it looked when I popped the cover off. Taking the tailgate apart.
