  1. i have no way to listen to them that's my issue and what i've read on various websites is the type x are better than the r but not for the price difference. if you guys have better alternatives in the price range im open to suggestions would prefer around $200 but like i said the car audio shops around here don't carry alot of components they mostly carry coaxials
  2. based on reviews I read i'm leaning a little more towards the type r. People are saying the x's are very sharp and don't hit mids as well as the should. if i can't listen to them i will probably go for the r's also based on price
  3. no best buy close has a pair of either hooked up. i've tried several audio shops and I don't know anyone with them. I've only heard the type s. I know that matching isn't always the best but i like alpine and think they are fairly decently priced. I really have no way to listen to them
  4. I'm buying new speakers for front stage. I'm pretty set on getting alpines to match my power pack. I've been looking into the Type R 6.5" components but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the Type X. I've heard good and bad about both so I was wondering if you guys had any personal experience with either one of them. Thanks guys

I didn't think there was an issue because i've seen a lot of people do it before but just wanted to see what you guys had to say. Thanks

I have my amp mounted to the back of my box. It's mounted so that the bottom of my amp is screwed to the back of the box. Is this bad? I was told by a guy yesterday that it can cause internal issues with the amp. Any input?
  7. I'm just curious because the xsd3400 says it can produce 2000 watts as the starting battery and that would be more than sufficient for what I'm working with
  8. How will a big battery upfront not help my volts? and the battery up front is almost shot
  9. i've never heard of a remy battery? I would have to do some research on that before i even would consider buying that.
  10. i'm looking at either a yellow top, an xs d3400 or an xs d1500
  11. I'm planning on buying a new starting battery for my suv. I'm running sa15's on a hifonics brutus elite 1600. I plan on doing the big 3 in the process. I just need to know what would be a good battery to put up front. I would like to do the big 3 and a new battery up front and then put a second one in the back. My budget is around $200 give or take
  12. yes sir. Sub up port back
  13. no help at all?
  14. any body??
  15. I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy. I'm running 2 Sundown SA15's on a Hifonics BRE1600.1 I'm getting ready to start a new box because i realized a measured the last one wrong so i only have about 4.5 cubes net. Clearly not enough for the subs . Here are my maximum dimensions. I can go 37 wide THE'ts right on the wheels wells would probably have about a 1/4" on each side. I would go 25 deep. Gives me about 7 1/2 inches to the back hatch. 24 high gives about a foot to the roof. Any idea's for a box. Probably just gonna stick with 35hz and I want it to be very loud but i want to be able to listen to music not just do burps. I think that's all the needed info right?
  16. How was youtube brought into the question? I don't look up subs on youtube because you can't hear how they sound. an extra 400 watts when tuned right isn't going to overly hurt the subs.
  17. i wont over gain them or anything. I was just wondering which one is more reliable basically and seeing as the brutus elite is rated watts and hfi isn't i was probably going to go with them brutus
  18. I have a hifonics hfi1500d in my suv right now. I traded a few things and I got a hifonics bre 16001.d I was wondering which one is a better amp to use on my sundowns.

If there is 3/4" on top of the port and 3/4 inch on the bottom. i was off 1/4". also i thought the the L was where the port wall ended.
  20. I did the measurement. I was just double checking before purchase to make sure that they would work. I didn't want the baffles to show up and have something happen. Nothing wrong with double checking right?
  21. i'm buying the baffles online. I'm trying to make sure what i'm buying is going to work before i spend the money douche. If youre gonna be an arseho then don't help its pretty simple
  22. These are my speakers so will the ring posted work? i'm still a little confused
  23. alright so i remove the existing blue baffle correct?
  24. wow that's really easy. So just check the mounting depth of my speakers and go from there?
  25. How do I install those?
