i don't build my boxes and I would have no idea how to do a baffle

I don't have the tools to do that. I need a cheap solution that doesn't require alot of tools. They are gonna be powered but an alpine power pack because I don't want to buy an actual amp and it sounds pretty good for the price. anywhere i can buy something else that will fit?

I found one i think works. it says i'm tuned at 38 but after port say's i'm only netting like 5 cubes for my sundowns. so should i invest in a new box or is this one good? i don't want to choke them

so i can't just glue wood to that one?

Hey quick question can you guys tell me what my box is tuned too? I'll get you all the dimensions in a second. I just wanna make sure what the guy told me is accurate. and I can get the torres calculator to download that's why i'm asking you guys haha

i'm not going straight into the metal. There are blue speaker housings there they but the screw holes for the speakers a just slightly outside of the housing so right now I just screwed them at an angle so they fit for the time being. My deadening is on the way right now so should be here early next week

what is a baffle?

So I finally installed my cheap Rockford components (well tried too) and they don't fit. Every place on line says that my jimmy has 6.5s but these are just barely too big. So since I already have them do i need to buy different speaker housing or can i just cut out a circle of wood, glue it to the housing and then screw the speaker to that?

I'm not exactly sure what the front battery is i can check in a bit. but i am ok to run 2 different batteries? i don't wanna fry anything

GMC Jimmy and i'm not spending $370 on second battery. the d925 says it's good for 2000 watt systems as a second battery which is more than what i'm running.

oh? I talked to a guy on the steve meade forum and he said I wouldn't have an issue doing it this way. but what are the cons of mixing them?

I'm about to order an XS Power D925 for the second battery in my suv. I have a bigger battery upfront i got from o'reilly's. It's not a deep cell but it's about the biggest I could get with out spending a ton cuz i was on a budget. Now my question is should i buy a different battery for upfront? My goals are just to get my voltage to stay at a constant voltage. My amp draws around 1500 rms and when i upgrade will probably be in the 1700-2000 rms range. What do you guys think?

alright i'll go vertical port. I'll just give all the info to my box guy and have him hook me up haha. I want it to be 4 cubes after displacement and port

I think i'm going to do 32x17.5x20. 3/4 inch mdf horizontal port on the bottom tuned at 34hz. Just don't know how big to do the port. How does it sound so far? this is the first box i've personally designed

the website says 1.75 cubes min ported 3.25 max and my trunks opening is 20" at the narrowest not 28. Anybody have a suggestion for the box. I think i'm going to do the port under the box so its horizontal not vertical. Would that work?

im probably gonna go with the brz1700 but is that box gonna fit guys? or better yet with the subs do well in that box?

what kind of amp and how much?

and i'm probably going to do my amp first just because this planet audio doesn't put out crap at 4 ohms. The subs barely hit.

alright well i have a cougar so building a box could be tricky. The opening is 28" at the narrowest point and 40w at the widest point. once inside the trunk i have roughly 36w 17h and 20d. I used a box calculator and have one that's 30x17x20 that's getting me about 4.7 cubes before displacement in and the port and I'm probably going with a slot port.

I have 2 cars guys. I have an suv with sa15s and a hifonics amp and then I have my cougar that i use to drive to and from school that has l7s and a planet audio. and what i meant by not hearing L7s was i never heard them on a proper amp. I've heard the others on the right power
