  1. Ill admit it...before i found SSA this is what i was going to get, i really had no idea about other brands besides what sonic or CF had. Thankfully I stumbled upon this site and steered clear of the JL!
  2. I think the reason for the flamage is because of the way his post is written and idea "thought out". This seems more like a troll post than a legitimate question. No real person is going to ask about doing 40+ of any speaker without some sort of plan. No one! He doesnt even have electrical figured out yet hes done all the fiberglassing and has everything set for these speakers to go in? Lets talk about running wires after that? It very much seems like a troll and thats how people responded.
  3. Im almost more anxious thsn i was for my own sub!
  4. Liking the door work! What are you going to do about that windshield?
  5. He doesnt look happy with that hat! lol build looking good so far
  6. Well two things today, i reset the gains on my sub. i had them a little high because i hadnt factored in bass boost and such. I never played it that loud and i really didnt use the bass boost, but id like it to be right. And my war against pioneer and the limit on the video capabilities has come to an end. The repeater usb cable is not compatible with the unit. I could go the route of composite cables but its another order, more wasted time if it doesnt work and i doubt app mode will even work over that. Im guessing app mode is limited to the USB. So its really not worth it to me to pull the carpet and dash parts and snake all the cabling through as i dont even really see that big of a need to use it. So i will move on as planned with the usb extension into the center console so that i can still do pandora and intunes off of the phone or ipod.... ill be filling my 80gb ipod soon. to keep in the truck at all times. More to come and hopefully the next update will have pics...because really who likes updates without them?
  7. So i suppose for now until i understand better I leave well enough alone.
  8. Forgive my naivity on the subject, but when i say best response im talking about the curve the program gives. As ive seen that called the response curve. With my box specs it peaks up at about 33/34 hz and drops down sharply to a flat curve. Ill do a screen shot later so you see what i mean. But i am i under the impression we want it pretty flat and uniform as far as the curve goes. As far as the signal voltage i put in 1200 watts and it automatically calculated it to 34.6 volts if i remember correctly. Which is what i believe i set it to with a dmm. I am going to re check that later as well.
  9. So i plugged my Icon 10 D2 into WinIsd according to the specs on SSAs site. For some reason it says the best response is going to come from roughly .5 cu ft ported. The optimal suggested on the site is 1.5 cu ft. which is what i built and it sounds great. Of course i wanted to play with the port sizing and the cu ft a little bit and see if I can do better. Are the specs correctly listed? Do i need more than what the site lists to get the program to work correctly? I dont think i could even fit the sub in such a small box!
  10. There are many holes in his logic...if he has any at all
  11. I dont see the smack talk on the FB page.
  12. As a guy who doesnt compete and really knows nothing about belonging to a Team in audio competition, my common sense tells me that someone worth the company giving special pricing to doesnt need to search out contact information....
  13. By all means. Thats half the reason for this thread, i could not find much as far as guidance when diving in. Any questions shoot me a PM
  14. First time seeing this thread.....anxious to see MORE!
  15. So one thing that stuck out to me from the unhelpful pioneer "tech" was that theres signal loss over a greater distance. So i found out about these repeater (signal booster) usb cables when browsing a site recommended in another thread. So this is the next route im going to try. After that I might go with the composite option. Stay tuned!
  16. I found an active repeater usb cable on that monoprice site. im going to try it. thanks for the heads up. hopefully this does it!
  17. You guys are far better than pioneer tech support
  18. Yes and the last one i got that way gave me a dead signal. Im looking for one that some one KNOWS for sure can carry the signal
  19. After months of dealing with pioneers terrible customer service, one tech finally tells me that there was supposed to be a four foot usb extension capable of carrying the video signal from my iphone to the unit in the box. Unfortunately, even though ive been dealing with them since january, they wont send me one on them becuase its been over thirty days since i bought it. Anyways... I really need one longer anyways. It needs to be able to carry the signal and be at least 12 ft long. Any ideas?
  20. Apparently there was supposed to be a cable in the box. Had they told me this in january when i started dealing with them they would send me ome, but becuase its been more than thirty days since i bought it they wont without charging me. Im never dealing with pioneer again ... Ever
  21. Woa so when he said top secret, he didnt just mean for the build. This is something either new or custom and insane.... Itching increased
  22. Itching like a guy needing crack, to find out!
