  1. So i replaces my stocker with a yellow top. I want to run a second battery as well, unisolated. I was advised against using the stock one with the yellow top. Ive been seeing builds where people do though. Are there issues here that i teally need to be concerned with or not? I believe the stock is an AC. Delco. Eventually when cag allows it i will match batteries but would this be ok for now?
  2. And after no help from pioneer i hve found that the usb extension cable is the culprit.
  3. Damn man! Looks like your gonna lose that windshield!
  4. Well i got a different cable that pioneer sells, i saw a you tube video of it working. It does not. My last though is the usb extension is whats killing it. Could that be? Im going to be pull it out soon to put in the brake bypass, one because i read that might be the problem and two, its a PITA when you do want to watch something, have the time the screen pops up to tell you to put the brake on even if it already is and you have to engage, disengage, and re-engage the brake to get it. I dont plan on watching any vids while driving anyways. The more i sit on here and look around, the more i wamt to eventually do custom door pods and add a mid bass driver like the neo pros. However I dont know how well itll work. Im still learning alot of this stuff. I know they are meant to work IB in the doors. What I dont know is how itll pair with my components, and if i were to seal the doors would i still be able to run the mid range from the component in the door or will the pressure from the mid bass destroy it? Also, will adding these help my lacking mids or will this just sound bad? I think the biggest problem i have is that the ICON just over powers everything but the highs. Should i drop my gains some? I set them using a DMM.
  5. This looks nasty! I cant wait to see finished, ive always been intrigued by bandpass enclosures. My first set up was a dual 12 bandpass box i bought and through some subs in. It was like a 4th order, but the cones face each other in a sealed compartment and the magnets were in separate ported compartments. I got lucky and the subs sounded really good in it.
  6. Yes the double din is sleek. I love the unit besides my video issues. Which its more of a bother that it doesnt work than an inconvenience, as I dont really use it.
  7. If your using your iphone for it, i have a 4300 with the same issue. It will not take video from my iphone. Even though i bought the cable that is listed for that unit to transmit video. Cust service has been no help on this issue.
  8. I have a pioneer avh p4300 and it is supposed to work flawlessly with iphone 4. It does not. Video does not work and itunes messes up alot. Howecer pandora is great. I cant get anywhere with pioneer cust service. Emailing them is a joke and im not able to call during their hours
  9. I thought those copper 6awg ends were it. I guess ill wait and see!
  10. Wow. Thats some crazy wiring! How will those mate to the sub inputs?
  11. Make a photobucket Account and use the img codes from there
  12. Thnx! Heres my new version of the background. Color doesnt show right in these iphone pics but i tried to get in close to so u have an idea.
  13. What r you gettin?
  14. Thanks man, posted! Whats your user name ill follow.
  15. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, this is my first in depth build. Steve, i know! I checked it out for some tips. Looked good...arent you rebuilding that or did that stall again?
  16. Also the enclosure net volume is ~1.5 cuft and its tune to ~33hz.
  17. That is something i plan on changing. Its been bugging me for a while.
  18. Yea thats kool with me!
  19. made a custom background for my HU. I have a few others im gonna try tho, cant see the logo very well in this one.
  20. You mean between the magnet and the top? Some its over an inch some a lil less than an inch. I made the whole i cutout pretty wide around it to give it space. and its really only the center cone thats that close.
  21. thnx guys!
  22. Oh and hey does anyone have a pic of the SSA logo in just an outline with either a white or solid color center of the letters?
  23. I figured first id get the fun of cutting the holes for my double baffle out of the way. I found out that the jasper jig is a little off...and the sub didnt fit. But after hours of sanding it fit. Then a couple weeks later i got to work again and banged out this box. A little trick that i picked up someone for getting the proper volume...packing peanuts. Test fit I planned for that... Drivers side Pass side Wire which was probably more trouble than it was worth doing And a slight view of the sub And thats where i am left off at now. Its been a couple weeks and I feel pretty satisfied with the box so i need to pull it out and carpet it. Also on my to do list are: (1) to put the center console back with wiring ran through it for the usb and 3.5mm hook up with the head unit along with extra cigarette lighter outlets inside it (2) mlv and ccf on rear doors (3) cld tiles on roof ANd maybes.... Second battery, seal up front doors (fiberglass or just plywood?), alternator (big maybe) and mids (also big maybe) oh and yea i NEED to figure out this video problem with the iphone. Its really bugging me...and i dont really use it lol.
  24. Fast forward to end of summer and I got motivated again. I got my seat lift cut up and drilled and installed the seats finally. I used some heavy heavy steel c-channel and grade 8 bolts to do it. Drilling and cutting that c channel was not fun at all. Then came the fun of planning how this sub was going to get under there. I took lots of measurements and played around with lots of numbers. But even after hearing over and over that it cant be done, i got to work.
