no "will it be louder" is a newbie question not "what DB's are you hitting"

so what kind of out put are people getting with the 15" IXL sub what kind of DB's are people getting? I have a MJ-18 (not a MJ-18M the old MJ-18) and I would like to try some thing new right now im doing about 140/143's I would like to be able to do 145 and but sound good to I just dont know if it would be louder so I'm just trying to get a idea of what people are doing..FYI I dont think 145's will be to hard b/c I have a civic hatch back O and im not asking "will it be louder" that's a newbe Q Im just curious as to what DB's you are getting

I bet you could do a 160 at 35 hz with 8 18's ported

2 20cu.ft boxes tuned to 30hz you will die

but how much more out put do you think it will get with 2 ports over 1 port? if I do 2 that it will have to be on the side of the box if I do one port it will go on the front of the box I dont know if I will lose SPL if the ports are on the side? FYI it's going in the back of a car were the back ceat was

FYI this is for one ould MJ-18 thinks

so my new box is going to be 5cu.ft and I think I'm going to tune it to 35hz but will I get more SPL if I go with 2 6" ports or one 6" port? I am going for SPL but it has to hit low to so what do you all think I know the old MJ has a 12mm excursion so I dont know if there's a need for 2 6" ports

no what I'm saying is I have a MJ-18 and I dont think it would like 1500Wrms it would probably fry, they dont get much louder past 800Wrms or at least the old one's were like that
