  1. would angled \ be better cause it will use the bottom of the ground kinda like a base and help from losing quite so much of the output?
  2. great, thanks....i know i might lose some more room in the back but it would be cooler to say i am running 18s, lol!. one more question, would it matter if they were angled down as opposed to angled up? \ versus / on the front baffle.
  3. I cant remember all the reasons for the names, I know each stands for something. If you do a search, I know there was a topic on this some time back, at least 8 months back.
  4. Ok guys, I was browsing steve meades forum and came across someones system on the system of the month, february 2008. It has 2 18's in a blowthrough, but in order to fit the 2 18's they are slightly angled as well as the port (or at least the port looks like it), does this have any effect on the output or cause some other negative effect? Just curious, would be fun to use 18's instead of 15's. http://www.*****.com/board/ind...showtopic=19379
  5. Not sure about 99% of this, but I do know it is not Fi...Scott used to own RE though, but that was some time ago.
  6. ok, hate to admit it, but i gotta say that i have tried this....think it was like in '98. I mixed two 12" Rockfords with something else, I think JBL...two totally seperate boxes....SOUNDED HORRID...almost sounded like on top of the bass someone was farting into a microphone, lol. It was more humorous than anything, but yeah, didn't work to any advantage, but disadvantage yep.
  7. Fi....kinda like Hi but with an F *outta the mouths of Scott and Shawn
  8. I like the spoiler too, lol. My neighbor has a black SRT with a spoiler, looks nice. It changed his exhaust out, cant remember to which one though, but put in some electronic cutouts, and wow....those make it SUPER loud and dirty, lol.
  9. WAIT....I thought nick and M5 knew everything....they always seem so right on with questions, lol. Very smart people... Anyway, I cant bash to hard, my local BB actually employs knowledgable car audio people. Hell, me and the salesman actually had a discussion about FI and the Havocs....I think he is even a member of this forum.
  10. denim will steer you right, i promise....time is a great thing, god only knows, I am still planning my system for my truck and i have been planning it and going over it for around 9 months already.
  11. Funny, I never really thought about taking the added weight of the system into consideration when all the people are saying go with bigger brakes to offset the weight of the rims and such. That is a pretty valid point, lol.
  12. I like just about anything by Benny Benassi....Static-X has some fun songs to listen to as well.
  13. oooohhhh, he told ya'll, lol. Dont buy a car to fit it, lol......I had a friend try that because he loved the mini coopers, it didn't fit. What I mean fit is not matching personality, I mean matching body size to comfort levels....needless to say his car would bottom out with just him in it..and bad and no one else could fit in the car at all.
  14. If it were me and I had those musical tastes, I would probably go with something nice like a Havoc or Q in a sealed enclosure, just me though.
  15. LOL, I wish that were the case, I have yet to find a car that I feel really comfortable in....haven't really checked out the TC's though. I thought a Charger would be big enough till my friend took of pic of what it looked like, you can't see anything above my chest when looking through the windshield, lol. I looked at the pics of your car though bigjon, I like your car as well....very nice.
  16. God ain't that the truth....I had a ball joint break on my little 04 Ford Ranger, freaked the living chit outta me....was going like 65 when it happened and almost crashed. All-in-all, I like your car. I wish I could pull off a TC look, but seeing a 320 lb powerlifter who dresses like Travis Barker behind the wheel of a car looks kinda silly, lol.
  17. LOL......he said it straight up, to funny.....HAIL KOB!!!! Respect goes where respect is due....in this case KOB is a pro.
  18. Wow, that is weird. I agree with Jim J, I would do it anyway....also kinda weird they are turning away some business with some work that wouldnt even be all that difficult to do in the first place.....
  19. Ain't that the truth. Its like getting a mean person in the drive through at Taco Bell....it just makes you mad...whereas a nice person makes you smile, lol...
  20. Honestly, I had the same discussion with a quite a few cops in my national guard unit before I got out...which covers about 8 counties, and all gave me the same reasoning. Its not that they are "haters" and such because of a system but more of a safety issue. They also said they do it to try to ward off the same individuals from doing it in residential areas. All said if done in the appropriate place and time, they would have no problem with it....which basically covers exactly what some individuals on here already point out. As for the exhaust, yeah, I can understand some of those. My neighborhood signed a petition for one truck down the road cause its exhaust, in IDLE, would shake the neighbors windows.
  21. 50ft.....75ft...my god, you guys are lucky......it is 15 damn feet in my area....if they can hear a stock system with the windows up you get a ticket...then it is a good bit more than $75 if caught.
  22. you also kinda gotta look at what it is going into also though....a single 15 fully loaded in a small car will be noticably louder than one in a blow through in a truck. That is, unless I can get it just perfectly right when doing all my cuts and junk on the truck itself and seal everything up correctly.
  23. Well, my original setup was going to be 2 15" BTL's ran off of 1 RF4000 at first then adding a second one probably within 6 months....pretty much greatly increasing the amt of work needed....esp considering I am downgrading 5k watts......seems like a monster difference to me.
  24. What up guys! I know I have been a pain trying to plan my setup, been doing it forever and a day now, lol. For the longest time I didn't heed many of your warnings, but tonight for some reason all your warnings hit me. I was thinking of jumping from my two little 12" RF P3's to 2 15" BTLs fully loaded. Money, time, patience, and the willingness to upgrade wasn't my issue, it was the BIG jump factor. I don't think I am ready to take such a huge jump from two weaklings to two way above monsters....so instead I'm gonna go with 2 15" BL's. I am greatly appreciative for all the help that you guys have provided me and look forward to picking your brains soon for mids/highs info. Thanks shooting for 2 15" BLs with a sundown 3k.
  25. That is his funny way of saying Hifonics is junk.....like comparing FI subs to Sony subs, lol...guess that would be the best way to put it.
