  1. Whew, 1 run of 0gauge for each cell....that is a whole lotta wire being ran, have fun
  2. I cant wait to hear this one! I am going to be running probably the exact 2 amps in a soon-2-be setup and need a new alt first. Killin two birds with one stone on this post )
  3. LOL! True that. Yeah, I see places like that and have a tendency to get scared off cause they seem to good to be true. I guess for once, there is one that is that good and true, lol.
  4. Wow, not trying to sound kinda like a highjacker here, but that is good to know....I was wondering the same thing myself!
  5. Oh Yeah!!! Even if I was gonna put the bare minimum power to them, I would probably go ahead and get all the options.
  6. I have heard amazing things about both of these subs, which is cool. Actually, I have NEVER heard one bad thing. I am curious, how do these two subs compare. I am very much so a noob and know nothing about comparing specs really. All I really do understand is that the Q has a great XMax meaning what, more excursion which could yield more output (bass on the SPL side??)
  7. Yeah, I do like the look of the Sundown's also. Plus, if I ever decide to go a little "bigger" and do something like BTL's, I could put 1 amp to each sub and they will probably love that. Yeah, the Kickers do have a nice pricetag...which for some reason worries me (you know, you get what you pay for, lol).
  8. I am pretty sure I will be running 4 Q's in my new setup. My big question....what are some good amps to match them up to. I was thinking about 2 amps allowing for 2 subs on one amp so if one amp died on me it would be cheaper to get a new amp. Here is what I was thinking so far: Kicker 2500's>>>allow about 1250 watts per Q (not sure how Kicker amps are, good price though ) RF 2000's>>>>>Love the look of these amps, but they are a little more costly. Sundown 3000>>>Afraid 1500 watts will be to much for a Q. Sexy amp though MTX Thunder Elite 4000>>>No clue at all about MTX, nice lookin amp, would have to run a 2 Ohm load. Any input, ideas, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hey guys. I was playin around this morning and I came across a post on one of the forums (may be the speaker section) that said the T2 and the BL are about equivalent to one another, other than the T2 costing twice as much. Is this true? I haven't really had time to dig up the specs on the T2, but a little info would be cool. I have some friends who, for some unknown reason, think the T2 is a great woofer.
  10. LOL! I kinda like you way of thinking Lord....
  11. The only reason I ask is because a "semi-new" shop in town just got the new ones in and the price isn't all to shabby. With my military discount there I can pick up the 12's for around 400 a pop.....but then again, I keep thinking about BL's, lol.
  12. Wow, I am so late on this reply, lol. But I know how he feels. I was talkin to the guy that does all my work for me and boy did he get defensive when I told him I wanted to go with Fi. I have heard 6 15" T2's in a setup, they were loud. Honestly though, that same day I heard 4 15" BLs and the BLs were noticeably louder. But as someone stated, it is very install dependent. Side note: My dealer wants me to stay with RF so bad cause I kinda push his shop that he offered brand new T2's to me for 200 a pop, lol.
  13. If you would like to go ahead and throw out some ideas for a good front stage that could keep up with those subs, go for it. Hate to say this cause I know I am going to get bashed by the big time SQ guys, lol, but I am not all that much into a sound stage....but then again, if I want to use 4 subs I am sure ya'll realize this. I have never ran a comp set either, sigh, so this is going to be my first setup with any type of component set. I don't think I am ready to take the step to an active crossover, so if possible, stear me away from that because I will probably screw it up and break something, lol.
  14. The front stage is important, but honestly....at the moment, I am going to do the bass and add on to the front stage as I go along later....just tryin to plan the subs and get them in at the moment. My budget is pretty open to be honest. Couple grand for amps, some for subs, etc. I'm not the type of person who tries to do a super elaborate system with a grand, lol.
  15. Perrfffecccttt. I will have a new Sony camera in like a week, just got one off ebay last week so hopefully it will come in soon...i will take some pics for ya
  16. How goes it guys. It has been quite awhile since I have last posted anything or had any questions. Well, 2 weeks ago I got in a car accident with stupid tourist who was slightly drunk. My poor Silverado was toasted along with everything in it. The only thing that really lived was my head unit...sigh, it was junk anyway. So, needless to say, this morning I got a brand new 08 Silverado...thanks to my insurance and the threat of a law suit against the guy. Anyway, I wanted to try something a little different, but am not entirly sure. So, before I start asking questions, here are my goals. I wanna get fairly loud but sound good doing it. I am not talking about all out SPL kinda stuff here cause I will more than likely NEVER compete in anything. I just want something that can take your breathe away and move some air. I was thinking maybe 4 15" Q's sealed.....is that good. Is it capable of things like hair tricks? It will be done with the largest recommended size per sub more than likely. At the moment, I am thinking perhaps a RF4000.1 or two Sundown 2000s. Does this sound good to you guys and do you think it is capable of doing what I want? Oh yeah, the truck already has a blowthrough....courtesy of the Chevy dealership . I guess they felt bad and hooked me up with a blow through which actually looks nicer than any blowthrough I have had done before. They went all out with it.
  17. sooo, what issue/month is it gonna be in. I have all of them up to know, at least i think i do.
  18. thanks. i still got some debatin on my system, but i will probably go with two 10's tuned to 35 Hz or so.
  19. good point. i was thinkin getting loud with the term performance. personally, i am still strongly debatin what exactly i want to do in my setup, lol. i am just tryin to learn the "game" of things at the moment.
  20. ok, so it does come down to pretty much the nitty gritty little thing of cone area, that is kinda what i expected. thanks M5
  21. just thowin stuff out, but what if they were Fi BL's in the optimum enclosures tuned to....eh, 32Hz (just threw that out there). How would they stand against each other. i am all messed up now, lol.
  22. ok....so, as it seems, i have only ever been told half the story. Thanks for the input, now i know what to expect between the two.
  23. I hate to ask this, but I think I may have been misinformed. What would be better/perform better, 2 10" subs ported with 1k watts each in the optimum enclosure or 1 15" sub ported in its optimum enclosure. I keep hearing conflicting stories and want to settle it once and for all. How would the two compare should be the real question......
  24. So I am helping a friend install a new system into his car. Right now we are looking at running either a single 12 pushing 2k watts to it or running 2 10's, each with 1k watts. Question.....a very loud SPL oriented daily driver is the goal, would the 2 10's be better do to sheer cone area or would the 12 be better???? I am thinking the 2 10's but I want to double check to be on the safe side before I tell him wrong. ----------------------------------------------- 2 10" BL's or 1 12" BTL
