  1. So must be old model then, thanks
  2. Is this the spec for the old or new X series?
  3. Hi BILTD Forgot to ask is my amp (BK Elec BSBPV500) 500 watts into 4 ohms and 1000 watts peak powerful enough
  4. Hi BILTD So are you saying that the 12 inch Havoc sealed would be a good option and better than the SSD12 sealed for my home music use and what about cabinet size?
  5. Hi BILTD One other sub I have been looking at is AA Havoc 12 inch, how would this be for home use in a sealed cabinet of say 1.0 cu ft with my amplifier
  6. Hi BILTD Using WinISD with 1 watt input I get about 85db at 70 hz my crossover point and 75 db at 25 hz. My amp is set to give 6db boost at 25 hz so I will actually get 81 db at 25 hz when playing hence only 4 db down. This is pretty much what I get now with the RE SR10 but I am looking for a cleaner sound.
  7. Hi BILTD have spent sometime looking at this, I can fit in a 12inch SSD with H-Qts but max size I can make sealed cabinet is 1.1 cu ft. I can of course fill it with BAF which will help a bit. I am assuming H-Qts for driver is 0.44 and I have modelled it in Win ISD and its not bad and of course I have 6db boost at 25 hz. My crossover is 70 hz and so I am only 4db down at 25 hz. As I said I only use the sub for music at home and there is not much below 30 hz anyway. Overall I think it will give me a better performance than the RE SR10 if you agree will place order soon
  8. Hi BILTD sorry but 15 inch is out of the question still trying to figure if a 12 inch can be utilised. What is the best size of cabinet for a 12 inch SSD for home music use.
  9. Hi BILTD Sorry just finding hard to make a decision, also trying to see now if I can fit a 12 inch into my space. I assume that if I go for a 12inch Fi the high QTS versions are also plus 0.08 above the normal QTS figures.
  10. Just find it strange that Fi and AA seem to have the same designer and Fi quote small enclosure sizes and AA large for the 10 inch sizes it makes it seem that the figures are not correct or there is a mistake with the enclosure sizes with AA. Just look at others and you will see what I mean. I am actually thinking of using a Fi or AA for home music use not HT and am having difficulty getting information from either. I would like to know what the high QTS is on the Fi SSD and Q models but cant get an answer and enclosure sizes vary all the time so its difficult to model without exact figures.
  11. I take you point but I have never seen a manufacturer suggest a minimum box size this big before giving such a low starting QTC and I mean never, just look at Fi and Re so I say again there is something not right somewhere.
  12. Something seems slightly wrong on the AA website regarding the dual 2 ohm AA Chaos 10 inch. Using the T&S figures given on site the box size for a sealed enclosure seems wrong, when I calculated it out if the box is 0.6 cu ft (min. size) the system QTC is 0.55 which is of course very low and for 1.0 cu ft (max. size) the QTC is 0.49. So what is wrong the T&S figures or min and max box sizes.
  13. Is the recommended sealed cabinet size of 0.2 to 0.6 cu ft after displacements given in 2007 for the high QTS driver. Also does anyone know what the high QTS is
  14. My amp gives 6db boost at either 20hz 25 hz or 30 hz, I have it set to give the boost at 25hz so I do get a fairly flat response, What I am really after is better quality sound hence my question would a Fi or AA unit be better
  15. What is an linkwitz transform (cap) of 1,2 mf, how will this help
  16. After taking off the displacement for the driver I am left with 0.5 cu ft sealed box, no wool, fully braced. Amplifier is a BK Electrics model BSBPV500 made in UK - 500 watts rms 1000wats peak into 4 ohms.

What is the cabinet size for a Fi SSD 10 high QTS version
  18. I have a high quality 2 channel stereo system at home and use a subwoofer to give the bottom end a boost. My sub is fitted with an RE Audio SR10 drive unit and powered with a 500 watt amplifier. Do you think a 10 inch AA Chaos would give an improvement to the sound quality, the enclosure is sealed by the way.
  19. Hi please help if you can
  20. Have any of you used an SSD 10 for home subwoofer use and does it work well. I have a high quality 2 channel stereo system at home and use a subwoofer to fill in the bottom end. My present sub has an RE Audio SR10 dual 2 ohm driver and a 500 watt rms amplifier. I am wondering if I would get an improvement by using a Fi SSD 10 dual 2 ohm driver. It would be used in a sealed enclosure to get best quality bass and be the high QTS version. Any opinions would be welcome. I am a bit confused about cabinet size as I keep seeing different optimum box sizes quoted, ideally I would like to know what the HQTS actually is so that I can model it in WIN ISD. I assume all other T&S parameters remain the same and only the QTS is changed.
  21. I forgot to say this is a home subwoofer not for a car. I have a 2 channel high quality srereo system and use the sub to fill out the bottom end so SQ is paramount hence sealed enclosure. Has anyone used these subs for home use, my sub amp is 500 watts rms and according to the manufacturer 1000 watts peak.
  22. Are these two brands made in the same factory Next question what would give best sound quality in a sealed enclosure Fi SSD10 or AA 10 inch Chaos Third question would these sound better than an RE Audio SR10
