So I just bought a new car and I'm going to put a 10" instead of a 12" in it. So with my 12" Icon would sending it in to get it reconed to a 10" cost anymore than the $75 to get a different basket? Totally price says $112.91 after shipping and taxes.

I'm running the same amp for my 12" Icon. It does get the job done! Also are you really getting that much output from the amp?

I'd suggest another battery or two and if that isn't enough a new alternator would be best.

Yeah, 4 gauge should be enough for you too. 4 gauge should be able to hold around 140amps. I ordered 5 ft of power and then 8ft for ground. I'm not sure where your alt is and the distance to the battery.

I hear you. I hated buying more wire. Even tho I only did it in 4 gauge because that carried more than enough amperage from the alt, which is 130 amps, to the battery. I've got some 0/1 gauge waiting to be thrown in.

Do the big 3 as well. It's simple to do and will help out a lot. Try the big 3 before you purchase a battery. If it stops the dimming of the headlights then don't worry about upgrading battery.

Upgrading your front battery to an XS Power or equivalent will help out a lot. Your alt already charges at 14+ volts so adding another battery will be fine for charging to bats.

What size alt do you have? When I added a second battery to the back I didn't notice any problems with the alt at all. It should be able to handle the charge just fine. It also did wonders for keeping my voltage higher.

Check all grounds too. A lot of times lights dimming can be from a bad ground. What are you running for a system?

Well yesterday was my first listening to my sub again being I was on vacation. Yeah it's very loud, haha. I can move a good amount of air. But I would still like it to get louder. So maybe saving up for a second isn't a bad idea.

That's not bad. I'd have to see how well everything would be in my car. I would still want to get a better amp. I feel as if the MB.Quart doesn't perform like I thought it would.

Would going 2 10"s have more cone area than 1 15"? I would think so when you take 10+10 = 20, but when I look at SD it seems like the 15" has more. Or should I not worry about that? Edit: Plus I really dont have the height in my trunk for a 15". I have a 1998 Ford Contour. Max Dimensions: 34x16x20. If I did a 15" I'd have to do sub up, port back.

I really don't want to go bigger for a sub. If anything I'll go with 2 icons. I just have to save up for the second one and a bigger amp. I'll check what my ssf when I get home. For box tuning what is the point where you shouldn't go any lower?

A second Icon will definitely move up the output. That's what I'll probably do, or I'll upgrade to an xcon or zcon. What is your vehicles resonant frequency? Do you know off hand? That will effect the sub woofer's sweet spot. Couldn't tell you. How would I find that?

I would love to compete in the near future. And my rearview my shakes uncontrollably already. I just want something louder and plays deeper. Here in Minnesota we hold bass head meet ups every now and then and when I see other people hammering the lows and being much louder I feel i really want to accomplish that same feat. Maybe adding a second icon will help..

And it does do that very well. So it should be fine if the peak is 33 hz?

So the flatter the response curve is the less frequencies it will play?

That did drop it down to 33hz. How low can the Icon go? Could I go to about 29-30?

I just really wanted something that hammers the lows.
