  1. I agree. He will be good on that amp and down the road should it be time to do an amp upgrade the xcons will unleash even harder
  2. They are one ohm stable, i have no idea below that if they are stable or not Jon. With dual 1s and seperate amps i think my options are 2 ohms or .5 ohms correct?
  3. For what its worth op, i have a dodge durango and put 6.5 coaxials in the rear doors and put same power to them as i do my front component set. I CANNOT EVEN HEAR THE REAR SPEAKERS. When i tune everyhthing to sounding good, there is just no sound it seems coming from rear and again that is amped. From what i took from your earlier post is you have rear dvd. Do you plan on your rear door speakers being the output for said dvd? if so you may want to stick with rear door enhancements. However, i know M5 knows his shit, so if they say the passengers can still hear it then i would believe them. In the end it will come down to your personal preference but all the advice so far in here is very on point. Good Luck!
  4. Also with an xcon you could upgrade ur amp in the future to double what u have now and the xcon still be fine with it
  5. Its good to be cautious. as long as u have a sub sonic filter and set it correctly u have nothing to worry about and a correctly built/designed ported box can sound just as good as sealed AND be louder. if u like the lows tune to about 33 and set ur ssf around 28 or so. my box is tuned to 33 and my xcons get LOW with authority and still sound amazing at higher frequencies. ill run the numbers but that should be PLENTY of air space for a single sub and plenty of port area also
  6. Also remember that box size plays a large part in efficiency. so if you are on the low side of recommended power definatly build the box on the larger side of optimal
  7. Hello hedz, all i can contribute is that the xcons/icons have excellent sound quality and get loud when needed. quite frankly they are monsters to be "sq" subs. either would be a fine choice.none of them need full rms to get loud so my personal choice if I were in your shoes would be dual gcons. or single icon assuming u keep the same amp. if u do upgrade your amp two icons sealed would be wicked IMHO. hope that helps some as i know the other guys here while chime in to try and help
  8. Now when people ask me how loud I want to be, im gonna just show the pic of loudizzzle in the port making that yak face and say "this loud" muhahahaha!
  9. Your vids are great bro, but never sacrifice your health for youtube. And I have to imagine that car, in the box atleast, could literally do some damage. Just sayin, not stepping on toes I hope, just looking out for ya
  10. With my setup so far my top score is 147.9 @ 32hz. Was wondering if anyone could tell me any quick tips on being louder on the meter without changing power or box? 2004 Dodge Durango. 2 XCON 15s in 4 cubes net each with 160 sq in of port between the two. Amps are RF T1500cp on each sub. Hints, tips, tricks? Im very new to competing. They place the meter in middle of windshield down low near dash if it matters. Thanks in advance everyone! Edit-My second score (last weekend) was a 146.3 @ 35hz. I did have to notch out a little of my box on each corner to fit it properly and of course my stupid ass unloaded the subs after the first show. Would it be warmer weather lowering my score or a combination of all three things I just said?
  11. Keep us posted bass, im interested in how this gets worked out. thanks
  12. DAYUUUUUM! that was awesome....
  13. BATTLEFIELD! FTMFW!!

  15. Id bet heavily on moving some air with 6 dcons
  16. Please include re cones in that push
  17. Happy Birfday buddy!
  18. You sir are dedicated. I felt BAD for you watching your face while in the box. Dayum!
  19. Correct. And port area if going vented
  20. Looking good! Welcome sir
  21. lol.....op be like.......K!!
  22. That's hilarious. my comment was about the rf tattoo. didn't know who the "dude" was. interesting.....
  23. Well this thread escalated quickly. OP all i can say is there are some amazing guys on here when it comes to advice and help. detail on your box as in dimensions of it and port are infinitely more helpful than pics. hang with it and this is a great place to learn. i can see both sides of the respect argument but as stated nothing here is sugar coated. tho i would hesitate to say your install sucks before seeing it, the guys here know what that sub is capable of in an ideal install, so when u say it fckin sucks, we automatically assume its install over equipment. hope that makes sense. no offenses meant to anyone here including OP
