  1. Is there a way to test the subs to make sure they work before we install everything and get silence? -John
  2. Alright, I got him to buy some wire for the Big3. I probably won't be able to convince him to buy a yellow top since it's alot of money and this is basically as far as he's going with the truck audio wise... -John
  3. true, so you think Big 3 is smart? Stock Silverado with a 135amp alternator I'm guessing. Stock battery too. -John
  4. that's good to hear, I think you were the one that told me they were 1 ohm stable I was just wanting to make sure -John
  5. haha well each 10w6 is rated at 300watts, so 600 watts at 2ohm should be perfect. Assuming that 400.1 does 400watts then that probably won't be enough... When you say keep voltage you mean battery wise, correct? Like keeping 14.4v consistently? I hadn't planned on doing the Big 3 to his truck since it's only 600watts, but do you think I should? -John
  6. I'm helping a friend install some subs he has had for quite some time now, and I'd like to let him have an amp that I've been trying to sell for what seems like forever but I'm not sure if it will work. He has 2 JL Audio 10w6 (old school version) and they're DVC 6ohm which means I can wire them to either get 6ohm impedence or 1.5ohm. My question is will the JBL GTO601.1 II amplifier work? It says maximum power at 2ohms and I've heard of some people wiring them at 1ohm, but it voids the warranty. Will this be a problem or should 1.5ohm be okay? any help is appreciated -John
  7. I haven't been on SSA in a while and I completely forgot about this thread. Sick to say the least I just spent the last hour or more catching up -John
  8. Yeah that woofer is gone. There has been a real problem lately with UPS workers that steal stuff. On GMFS.com there was a guy that got his TBSS lowering springs stolen twice. First time they said they 'fell out of the box' and that Jegs didn't package them well enough. Insurance covered it every time, but still a huge inconvenience. The driver would sign for the owner and claim it was delivered and he would take the package home. There was actually a guy that caught the UPS driver filling out a packaged delivered slip and faked the owners signature and was about to take off but he heard the loud ass truck and went out and confronted the guy. I can't believe UPS is letting this happen -John
  9. Graduating. -John
  10. what song is that? I heard that on the radio the other day and the bass roll-off is ridiculous. -John
  11. TOP -John
  12. found this looking through my photobucket for my forsale thread, I don't think I ever got the video for the ICON ride's section before I went MIA. -John
  13. yeah I think you have to get some achievements to be ranked -John
  14. The campaign itself isn't really hard even on the Legendary setting (all three games). The true fun for me, begins with the online play against other people. for real, that's what Halo is... I'll have mine Tuesday -John
  15. That's sick bro, those wheels are the Backseats right? When did you get them because I was supposed to have gotten the last set in the country and the offset isn't right, but I thought all of them were like that. I can't lower the truck because they stick out too far, it sucks -John
  16. You broke your front window with an ICON? -John
  17. what? I want it to sound good... In other words I don't want the TV to sound like my laptop speakers -John
  18. I'm looking for a flat screen low profile TV for my apartment room. This won't be in the living room, just in my bedroom. -I'll sit about 7-9ft away from the TV and I mainly play Halo2 but I watch movies and cable as well. -I really want the picture quality to not be blurry whenever movement takes place cause that gives me a headache. -Sound quality is a big necessity. -Budget is about $400-600, but will pay a little more for quality. I saw a Vizio 26" TV at Walmart and it was $449 I think. The picture quality was pretty good, but I didn't even see speakers so they couldn't have been very effective and I really want good sound... I'm going to go to Best Buy or Circuit City here in a Lubbock and see what they have based on what you guys think. -John
  19. so what the hell is all that? -John
  20. imagine the amount of chicks that are majoring in Construction Engineering Technology... I thought most colleges started around the same date and closer to Labor day. Tech doesn't start till Monday
  21. My first semester Geometry teacher could have been a voice-over for Borat, I couldn't help but laugh every now and then whenever he'd say something that was close to a quote from the movie without knowing it... -John
  22. are ICON's more of a SQ geared driver? -John Technically yes. But Mark and I have been discussing an SPL build with one in my truck. so because I have such limited space in my truck (2.0ft^3) would getting another sub geared more towards SPL really make a difference to the ear? I'm not bored with the sub yet, I've just become more curious reading all these SPL build threads and would like to be able to get decently loud. I know the ICON has pretty respectable stats and great 'sound quality' (sorry Sean, but I don't know how else to describe it) but with the exact same set-up and just switching subs would I even feel/hear results? Not too worried about TL #'s because I don't compete and never plan to with an ext. cab truck. I'm just pondering -John

  25. Screwed compared to other vehicles. There's a local guy in a bagged black extended cab '04 and he turned his system up and I couldn't even hear mine... it was ridiculous. My guess is he doesn't have a backseat with a huge box and 2 15/18's -John
