  1. nah, hehe, i know what my limits are now so the build is resuming... When i get rid of this car in a few yrs... i will get something massive...
  2. Just found out it's not worth it... The whole underbody would have to be Plated from the firewall back because of the unibody structure... So basically, an entire new frame is to be welded... This shop i talked to said they have to do this on Mustangs a lot when drag racing. So what does this involve on the tC? He said about 100lbs of steel and 2-3 weeks of labor! The ENTIRE interior on and near the floor needs to be gutted and i mean everything... Carpet, seats, sound deadening and the computer inside, any wiring, anything on or near the floor. Why? He said when they go to start weldling the underside of the floor, the inside of the car will be covered in smoke from the heat of the floor and do not want to start a fire! Estimated man hrs and cost- 50hrs Cost - $3,000
  3. No.. the better question is who WOULD BUY IT FOR SPL?
  4. and that sub is an interesting table top
  5. no but from what i remember, it was just a bad a dissappointment as the MTX jackhammer... I don't know why but comeon.... IF someone is gonna go bigger, EVERYTHING must equally increase in size and performance.
  6. or better yet.. who uses a professional circle jig for cutting that out.. back to the drawing board... Gotta use custom compass to mount that thing.. But if this is like the audiobahn, another fail at spl output...
  7. Hmm.. reminds me of the Audiobahn 34" Sadly enough, Cadence is suppose to be a well done mainstream company but if this is a copy of Audiobahn's old old oldschool sub.. then shame on Cadence..
  8. I haven't been in this thread in a while.. Reason is because i've been talking with a Scion Engineer and a couple of custom chassis shops As of this moment.. Scion engineer states the following- 420lbs is rated limit for rear based on stock parts... After upgrading to Air Struts and heavy duty Hubs(this is optional but a good idea regardless), the next weak link is the framework itself. Framework rating is as follows- No more than 1000lbs of weight centralized in the rear. No more than 1500lbs of weight dispersed throughout the vehicle. Going beyond these numbers will result in the car physically twisting apart if hit a bump strong enough and total the car instantly.... So.. that's definitely ideal... Currently, the scion engineer has confirmed that the new revised build going in the car already fits under the maximum suggested load zone! However, like i always say, safety first... So, i have an appointment tomorrow for an inspection on what, where and how the underbody can and will be reinforced to prevent such problems.... If they cannot do it, there are 2 other shops that have already stated they do this for a living and are willing to check it out, but at this time one of these shops is backed up until i don't know when so I'll just see what is found.
  9. I have 4 AQ3500ds. That is 14,000w @14.4v... Message me if interested in all four of them.. I'm selling them because i upgraded...
  10. I sure would not be surprised if my local news isn't blowing this out of proportion but in case no one on the East coast has heard.... apparently between NOW- Thursday morning.. we will be hit by "rare supercell storms" with "systematic tornadoes widespread"... Well for one.. that already sounds exaggerated but anyways.. go to www.weather.com, type in ur zip code and click map.. We are 4hrs from being hit and i'm in KY and we already have Tornado watches, Warnings until thursday morn(yea watch and warning together...) and Severe T-storm warnings from now til tomorrow morning... they have cut my programming off now for over 20min talking about already over 50 separate tornadoes in this massive band..... I think we need to get twistedchild out there as a meteorologist cuz he's got the drama talk and the best camera for the money to keep us updated
  11. WAIT.. u went from an AMD to an Xcon? Awesome.. if u show me how to overclock an Xcon.. i will love u forever, hehe.
  12. sorry to say.. but intel is tons faster vs amd.. amd is more geared towards gaming.. intel is more geared toward the overall experience as a whole... And yes, i've built both.
  13. crap, disregard this post posted wrong link
  14. most of the high end HSFs come with every socket adapter on earth all the way back to 775 sometimes, lol
  15. hey, dont feel lonely.. after my Q9300.. i stopped bein in the game til i built my cousins i5, BUT.. this stuff has been out forever basically.. www.heatsinkfactory.com If u have any questions, just let me know. There are plenty of crazy ass HSFs on there but i must warn you.. After fan cost, all good ones are gonna be over $100 shipped.
  16. have u never had watercooling? If i'm not mistaken, water cooling is louder than your typical high end air systems now I can find u VERY HIGH CFM air systems with under 20db at max speed, that's very quiet. Watercooling has external fans( which can be quiet) but the pump is not quiet... unless they state it's db rating is ~20db or lower.
  17. u should be able to safely oc that ship on air to around 4.7ghz 24/7 watercooling is overrated especially if u are not going to be able to take advantage of the cpu speed and instructions capable
  18. u know, with the OC potential of that chip.. u better be doin some hardcore video transcoding! I recently built my cousin an I5 3.0 or 2.8, can't remember and we put that massive ass HSF on it and i was able to oc it to 4.2ghz safely and stable and we benched it in Everest and it surpassed a stock Q9300 which is my damn chip, lol Quad 2.54ghz.. Now, his isn't as fast as mine though since i Oced mine to Q3.4ghz 24\7 but still, I need an I7 on top of a Cuda video card. I do lots of video transcoding and i refuse to do 1080 of 1600p video because 1080p on my system takes 3.5hrs @2hrs of flim so 1600p would be ridiculous...
  19. there is a difference between running @1ohm and cant wait to run something @1ohm regardless of what amp u can get.... @1ohm, you will be outputting the largest amount of current possible without the amp staying in protect on a 1ohm stable amp... Current = heat which thermally results in fried coils, tinsel leads, reduces efficiency of sub when being pushed with all that current all the time, etc... Now, i'm not saying never run 1ohm or this will happen, but what i am saying is never beg to run 1ohm because if you are not cautious, you will have damaged speakers.
  20. well thanks tirefryr.... since i am mechanically challenged with this stuff.. ur view helps on choosing who i should talk to! Jay.. i have OFFICIALLY just downsized the build 540lbs without losing as much as u think on paper... But i am waiting my rep to get back with me to confirm the new route... Tirefryr, in the meantime, i will be hunting for a shop.. you know any names of shops i should be contacting? I woudl contact Air lift.. but i seriously doubt they would do this kind of work in person....
  21. oh i know what he is saying.. but i'm not debating the fact if i replace this and replace that if it's magically fixed.. I KNOW that's not true.. i can't remember if i posted it in this thread but a local shop wanted me to take these pics so they can look under the vehicle to view what it looks like... They told me this- Install the weight if u want to because that's the only way you are going to do this project successfully... They said once something starts or does fail, then we can come in and repair AND reinforce that area at the same time. they do not want to reinforce anything now from what i understand at thsi point because reinforcing something now is guessing and can force the vehicle to create a NEW weak point by doing so without a direct reason to... HOWEVER.. i am still in the process of downsizing the build... And on a side note... I've got a guy with a scion tc that currently has 865lbs of weight ALL in the back on stock everything(then plus his body weight u have to add as well) Now.. yes, he is completely stupid because his car is literally draggin ass but it's been like that for 3months now without a problem so i don't know.. but i'm still tryin to downsize.
  22. Well, here are the pics.. now i'm not mechanical savvy but it looks like i'm screwed.... tell me what u think about this holding the weight....
  23. Ok.. while everyone has a right to their opinion.. there is a difference between an opinion and just plain wrong... So let me remove this barrier from your eyes so you can lose that opinion and look at it from a larger perspective... Stock vs stock.. what would cross the line faster in a 1\4mi.. My scion tC...or a Corvette C6... From your perspective.. you are having the opinion of.. well, the corvette couldnt handle the speed and the driver just can't control it so the car either crashed or threw a rod, etc... That's illogical. Your sub comparison from RF to Fi are WAY off too just like my example.. You can't compare them because they are easily in different classes.. And the Truth 100%- Because you believe this to be an accurate opinion.. I would not feel safe with you running car audio in your car... Warranty work evolves around your views like pressure does in my ride. And no, i don't run Fi or RF.. it's common sense...
  24. it better be made out of Granite
  25. I've rode top thrill dragster at Cedar point quite a few times. Cedar point held that record til the same company built that ride above just to break cedar point's record.. Cedar point's is 420ft tall @120mph.
