  1. who's to say that all electric cars run off of 12v? A few yrs ago, there was a document that came from Europe that stated by 2009, they wanted to start introducing cars that ran off of 48v but i havent heard about this since the first time i read about it which was a few yrs ago.
  2. Well, here in Louisville, Ky, the news has just shown that parts of our downtown area has just hit $4.19 87 Octane and Diesel at $4.69. Now is the time for me to start doing some math and alternative transportation methods to try and save money.
  3. NEW UPDATE, finally some good news! UPS said they found the battery and will be delivered today, YEA!!!!!! Also, Everything that consisted of wiring and installation for the AQ amps and subs are completed with the exception of grounding everything. Because i am waiting on the last battery, all the ground leads are still not ran yet but that doesn't take long. I am currently trying to work on getting the factory speakers replaced but i am missing my jigsaw because someone else has it right now... Hopefully i get it back today. So... sometime today, i should get this setup performing.
  4. oops, i mean that $498 is final, there is no additional shipping charge. Just go to www.audioque.com
  5. it's best to just choose what subs you want then find the amp that works best for them. If you are trying to compare different effects of ohm load on the same amp, then this will apply- Damping factor decreases everytime you half the ohm load. THD distortion jumps usually by a multiple of 10 when you half the ohm load. Power draw and output on average may double when you half the ohm load. The lower you drop the ohm load, the more current the amp will output through the speaker wire...So if you are doing a big install, using small wire might melt it, but you gotta be doin some pretty hefty power.
  6. get 2 AQ1200ds. strapped @2ohms = 2,940w. Price - $498 + shipping.
  7. ok, monday night, i'm almost done with the bass part of the install. My fuse holders took me....practically ALL day to get them finished. I had to fight with this one that was really pissin me off because i have just enough room for everything. It's ridiculous how much space i don't have. But, CAD is my hero, i've probably said that once before. Once i installed the batteries that actually came last friday, i had 1\8" clearance to fit the batts, that's how pressed for space i am! All i got left to do is run all the remote turn on lines for the amps, then run power and fuse my 4 channel amp. I'm kinda holdin out and waitin to do the 4 channel because i need to work on replacin the stock speakers. It's suppose to rain for the next 3 days here but hopefully i can get them replaced. I get to call UPS tomorrow... to see where my batt is! Can't start the setup without all the batts installed. If it got stolen or lost... i'm going to have a big problem with a delay.
  8. still can't post pics yet, i'm gonna wait til tuesday\wednesday when UPS finds my other battery. But in the meantime- later on today(sunday), i should be done with everything "bass-wise". I gotta start replacing my factory speakers next.
  9. he confirmed this a while back on my car that this will never happen to me, it better not!
  10. yep, my AQs come with one so i ordered a PAC to control my Sundown 100.4 as well, just in case. Scosche makes one too but the better reviews all go to PAC Audio.
  11. talkin to the source it better than talkin to a group of customers who form a decision based on assumptions. While there are companies that are active on forums, some aren't so the phone is still necessary.
  12. ok, so everything i ordered came into today... kinda. I am missing 1 of my 3 batteries. The ups driver said that his info shows that i am suppose to have 3 packages but only 2 were on the truck... He finds that odd so he gave me the number to call so they could trace it down to see if they could find it... I called, lady said all the trucks are back and she was gonna see if it was put on the wrong truck and call me back... Well, she never called me back and UPS isn't shipping on Monday either.... so, thanks to whoever messed up. Luckily, that particular battery won't hold me up from installin everything else... Some other things have arose in the install that are going to need to be reinstalled another way which pushes me back farther so when it's not raining, i'm gonna be busy busy busy,
  13. I am impatiently waiting for UPS right now... The order for my batts that are being drop shipped from Powermaster is currently in an unknown status right now. They emailed Powermaster requesting information as to why or when i should expect my order since they are in TN and i'm in KY, should only take a day. I've driven to their city before, only takes 2.5hrs to get there. I've been waitin 3 days so far. If UPS does not deliver the batts today then there will be a delay obviously. Crossing my fingers.

I wouldn't have said that, he ain't playin, lol
  15. i do have about 40sqft left BUT wait until i get the whole car done before i just get rid of it. I might need to use some more after i get the setup in there.
  16. no, i still own 2 Audiobahn Eternal 10s ironically from about 3 yrs ago. I sent each sub 334w of actual metered power, non-clipped and after 47 seconds, one of the subs started to heat up very quickly and now one of the 2 subs sounds loose when it moves a lot. Conclusion- on music, they were fine but on bass tracks, they fail horribly. Their power rating of 900wrms is the MAXIMUM recommended amp rated power suggested. So i would suggest not using anything more than an 1800w amp. These subs are pretty efficient because it literally takes hardly any power to get them loud, that's good for those low on cash, they just can't take power well.
  17. haha, yea i better, because in my install, i have no diodes to blow, just pure fireworks.
  18. i'll be contactin u soon, trust me, hehe. My buddy helped me lift the box in the car today so we can test mount the amps on the box and make measurements to see what fits and what doesn't, test fit batteries if they were here, deciding how to secure the batteries and how to secure the box itself. We will have to custom make brackets to hold the batts and box in place and i just found another way to possibly mount the amps but can't confirm it until the batts come in... it looks bad ass, we loved the look, can't wait to permanently get it in there..(Thank You AutoCAD). The box is completely put together right now! Tomorrow, i gotta drag it back out and flip it upside down so i can finish sealing the top with Liquid Nails and Silicone II. After that, then i got to finish laying the rest of the L brackets in place and sealing them inside the box too. After that's done, then i got to determine if the box is going to require All-Thread or not. I won't know til all L brackets are in place. After that...., hehe it's a matter of UPS giving me everything tomorrow and me starting to make the baffles for my 6.5s. So, i'm not too far away. There's going to be a LOT of wiring involved but luckily most of the hard part(running under the carpet) is done. There is still some under the carpet work but luckily the car is still halfway gutted.
  19. sounds like u need a motivator. Get ahold of 418fis and tell him to stay on your ass so u can get it done. That's basically what i tell my friends around here. One of em actually listens and does exactly that... that's why i might be done with everything in as little as just a few days from now.... but that's if my batts come in tomorrow too. They are being "drop shipped" straight from Powermaster... but that was as of 5-19-08, it's been 3 days and i'm only 1 state up from them, lol.
  20. i thought of contactin u today but didnt because i only needed help for like 10 minutes and didnt want u drivin all the way here and back with gas bein as much as a cell phone bill is, hehe. I just needed some measurements. When i get all my stuff in, in about 2 days after that is when it's goin down!
  21. 2 AQ1200ds strapped = 2,940w @2ohm = $500 i'm gonna list some other amps, i might know nothing about them so u can research them yourself- AudioPipe AP30001D Crossfire VR2000D JBL BPX2200.1
  22. hmm, maybe too low of voltage? That's the only 2 things i can think of. Oh well, i need some help lifting this box so if u wanna haul ur ass over here, hehe, and give me a hand, lol. I gotta pretty much just sit here until i can find someone to help me. I am not suppose to be lifting heavy items since i have a hernia. I've dragged this thing out and it is ridiculous. No way i can drag it out AND bend over to put it in and out of the car just for a couple measurements.
  23. hmm.. what can i say? Doesn't sound normal does it, hehe. Maybe he had it wired under 2 ohm strapped. These amps from what i hear are NOT lenient on disobeying the recommended ohm loads. I will have mine wired @1.4ohms strapped so there is no worry for me to drop below 2 ohms after rise. I thought today was suppose to be the big day to get the majority of all my stuff in... apparently i am wrong. So far, i have gotten 3 packages in from UPS for just installation accessories, i'm still waitin on a LOT MORE.
  24. got some pics of the inside of the box before i start doing severe bracing and then putting the top on.
  25. thats different. I would never get a 1,2,5,10 farad cap, those are just wastes of money. IF you have the alt power to run the car and the entire stereo system, then a large capacitor, like one Kinetik sells will deliver more power to your amps. Voltage regulator isn't fast enough to react to quick bass hits but a cap can but should only be used if your alt is strong enough to support the entire system already.
