2 Ascendant Audio Havoc 18s
anybody know what Havoc 18s sound like in 5.25 ported? It's under recommendation but that's all i can come up with for right now unless the port is severely shrunken which i'm afraid will lead to too much turbulence.

Large band EQs
that was the last install. The HU i got now is different. I had a temporary amp setup on it and it was a lot better, the HU, not the amp. It must have been my HU last time not giving out enough preout.

Just Got a 15' Btl Fully Loaded! Or 2 kicker 10' solo xs
if you have been powering that BTL for more than 1-2 weeks, then you are clipping your amp. Now, it's still possible that you may be killing the BTL as well, i'm not there so i dont know but usually brand new subs will\may have excess glue on them that will burn off but doesnt take long if there is any...

Just Got a 15' Btl Fully Loaded! Or 2 kicker 10' solo xs
well it depends, Kicker wants you to place each 10 in a 2.25-4.5 cuft box ported with no more than 1500w per. A lot of space for 2 10s since that is just for each chamber! 1 15 ran in 3-5 cubes. Frequency response for BTL is greater in the low end than the solo X 10 is. The soloX 10 cannot play below 24hz and is not optimized in a ported enclosure to be loud below 30hz. the BTL was though...

Havocs sealed?
2 ported would be louder than 3 sealed. To get the higher bass loud again without tuning higher, try building a smaller box. Build one around AA's lowest recommendations so you have more potential to raise the output a little in the higher frequencies. Although by doing this, the low end does not become as efficient. So, in a way, it is like tuning higher... IF you went sealed, yes the low end would be great and gradually get louder, good ol typical sealed sound. In terms of higher frequencies, 50hz+, if you desire to keep tuning below 30hz, sealed may be the best option for you. Your low end won't be as powerful as a ported design tuned below 30hz but the higher frequencies should excel compare to ported tuned under 30hz.

that vid is when they built them here. I know the HDC3 is made in china but according to DJ, they are suppose to be stronger than the originals or he would have never outsourced... That was his thing, never to go beyond America due to durability but evidently there is something there that doesnt affect his standards and i have yet to hear of a problem with one of those HDC3s. DJ was tellin me the other day that he has competitors running 6Kw per HDC3 in the lanes now. Sounds like a winner to me.

Were to get a High Output alternator
but Nate doesnt know how to make an alt for my car, Iraggi does. I agree to have him install the alt anyway so it's kinda hard not to ever see it if i show up in person

Buying a meter
either tomorrow or sometime next week. The temp is suppose to be hot enough to let me work throughout the day. I'm gonna test it with just a box i got then when it starts to get warmer, i'm gonna build a test box and use it for the reason why i bought it, so i know what way i'm facing everything and exactly what setup i'm going with.

Feeling better now
when i try it out, i'll post info about it in that topic. That topic is going to be active for quite some time.

Buying a meter
Just got the meter in today, Yippie!! You guys gotta see their client list! Your mouth will drop.

need opinion on setting gain
you need o-scope. tuning by volts, i believe, only works on amps that output same power with varying impedance loads.

Your favorite Q15 ported enclosure?
try sub up port back. I did that in an LTD and it was loud as hell.

Buying a meter
i asked him that type of question. Whether the read out would change based on sea level, etc... He said meters, not just his but others such as the TL are not affected by sea level, etc... it is the stereo equipment that is affected and the reason for a change in Db output.

15 BL vs 15 BTL
I'm assuming the ratio would be the same. I stated this before on the 12" BTL that it appears the Fs of the sub affected it's output graph. Now, i may be totally wrong there but it is coincidental if i am wrong.

GOT THE BL TODAY!!
Yea, if you to a shop and have them service anything for you with equipment that they either do not sell or never heard of, it's like, Yes!, we get to go into attack mode!!! It's pointless to argue with them when they attempt to lie to you based on assumptions because if you try to get the better of them by letting them know the truth, they might turn you down on service period if they think all u r there for is to bash what they do. Now, i don't let shops install anything for me but i do know a shop around here in my area that will install ANYTHING in your car, they don't care. Their prices are high but i don't see what the point is of a company trying to turn you away from something you ALREADY OWN and came their just to install it!, hehe. It isnt like you are gonna go... you know what? ur right, shop!I'm just gonna throw this sub away i got 2 hrs ago and buy this sub that 5 million other people have around here because i know what it's potential is.... the whole world does.... Shops make money regardless, don't see the problem. The worst that SHOULD happen is they find out that these internet companies actually produce equipment that may outdo some or all of their product line and the best thing they can do is research them self. So, what i do is just install everything myself(i'm not lying), and when i need something small, like wire, instead of ordering it online sometimes, i'll just go to the shop wangin. If they ever ask what i got in there, i'll tell them with no intentions of them goin out and checkin it out because they usually wont. I tell them in a way that the customers get curious about. I already got the tint guy at one shop braggin about my car because the windows are almost break proof. Gotta keep it on the low or else everybody would know...

15 BL vs 15 BTL
well, if you look at the graph above, the Q just dominates the BTL in terms of power to output. And displacement... displacement is the amount of volume the sub takes up inside of the enclosure so you know how big to build the box GROSS. You would also need to build a port if going vented but ports are usually user chosen so custom per user so the displacement of the port is up to the user to find out.

audioque
hehe, that was a few yrs ago. I dont have that setup now, but still got the subs. (got another one, never ran both at same time.)
-
15 BL vs 15 BTL
i wouldnt go by that efficiency rating. Over on RoE, they had this 12" sub grand challenge that a LOT of 12" subs were tested using their proper recommended enclosures and tuning. Results were odd... The 12" BTL - The 12" Q - Explain that one. Below 40hz, the Q wangs with half power, excelling over the BTL.

Damplifier Pro
i'll have pics of my stereo setup, that'll be a lot better than deadening, hehe.

if you're lookin for loud, that is a great combo. It takes them about 2 weeks before the really low lows start to become louder. Very stiff suspensions. I own 2 15s from them. Look at the following vid below. What you see in this vid is the 15 that they replaced with the HDC3 line. The HDC3 line is suppose to be stronger than this 15 and is only being ran off of a 100A fuse, Enjoy- ShiZZZoN's Audioque Devastation

Buying a meter
i'm not into the technical debate here but you gotta remember that i am not going to be using this sensor with a DMM. I'm hooking it directly up to my oscilloscope that has a Db read out on it already. There's a reason why the o-scope came with one..., to read Dbs. He told me that is the best way to use the sensor since you don't have to look at the chart all the time to determine spl. Oh, and i am replying to say that according to feedbacks from buyers in the USA, i should be receiving my sensor in sometime next week. I won't be able to immediately start testing it because i am starting to sound deaden in the area where the box will be. If i get done it time then ya, i'll test ASAP.
