  1. just because this amp has an extra set of "holes...." don't get drunk and get this amp pregnant. Your DBs will go down i can tell u that!
  2. As long as nobody else needs a design or build, ill be at slamology with bizzzass
  3. lol.. u guys fixed that.. forcin me to stay up til 2am workin on your car 400miles away.. and i can't even work on my car 30ft away... What the hell is wrong with this picture? lol
  4. So i did a terrible job on assessing this build? lol
  5. um.. the pop comes through the speakers, not the amp.
  6. the 1000c4 amp? i think those amps have turn on\off pop

it has only been on SSA for years.... I did all my builds in the same thread but the new wall will have it's own thread.

i'm pretty sure i've seen one.... just sayin.. i was the first one to ever wall a tC And am in the process of doing it again to break another record in the tC.
  11. interesting... I didn't know we could get cervix service on SSA.. i'm willing to pay for a subscription!
  12. if you don't know the numbers and don't compete, then never use that as a reference for OTHERS to gauge your knowledge as it's for you. However.. if you ever get that feeling that you want to dig deeper and learn how to get louder install-wise only, a meter is required... I can tell you now though, if u have a wall, don't invest in a meter in terms of getting audibly louder as the main thing that will control that is tuning! For street boxes, there are MANY things to do to enhance score because.... you can move them A street box install can easily gain 3db with many mods that cost next to nothing... For pure daily.. that is my reference.
  13. tirefryr- Why not just Y split the rear channel or daisy chain 2 amps off 1 output(rear out) User could then bandpass EACH of the two amps for the 2nd and 3rd component.
  14. you'd run the front (tweeters) on chan 1 and 2 you'd run the rear (woofer for 2way) on chan 3 and 4 For 3 way, you'd run your tweeters again on front channel. For the other woofer and mid in the door, you would have to Y-split the rear channel So you'd have 2 lefts and 2 rights. If using the 100.4 for both woofers.. You'd run 1 left and 1 right from rear to chan 1 and 2 You'd run the other left and right from rear to chan 3 and 4 You could also daisy chain the rear channel amps(if using 2 amps instead of 1 for the woofer and mid)
  15. ah HA! I finally found one thing that actually did have a speed improvement using a Ramdisk! As of right now, i have Firefox and windows cache being dumped in the ramdisk.. no visual improvements that i can tell... Been running Audacity and Goldwave temp files through it, no speed increase either when executing filters. However, this is one thing that did improve- Video Authoring! I loaded up a 345mb video test clip into my DVD\BluRay Authoring package and outputted to standard 7200rpm drive tested at 95MB\sec SEQ read and write. This drive took 44seconds to complete the task. I then switched output to Ramdisk and executed output- This Ramdisk took 22seconds to complete the task! Oh yea! now we are getting somewhere. Typical single layer DVD full is 4.3GB of output data. Time it takes to output to a mechanical drive will vary based on tracks being outputted. (the more tracks, the more files to be written) VOB files split at the 1GB mark... My Ramdisk is over 3000MB/sec on write so you can see how disk speed is crucial for authoring. I only Author DVDs anyway... So, for a full single layer authoring job, i will need to set aside 4.5GB just for authoring.
  16. dbeez is a friend of mine, i know him. Even though he lives ~40min away, he's good company. I don't talk to him alot, but i do not talk to hardly any people a lot when i'm workin on things, lol. I got his number, dbeez, if you ever need it.
  17. i have met him a couple times but do nto really know him personally. On our home forum in our area, he rarely ever comes on there but when he did, he seemed like he would get into makin flares.. then get busy with other things for a LONG time and stop doing it like he forgot about it.. then months later, he would do em again.... No excuse if he has your money, he doesn't live anywhere around me nor do i even know where exactly but i know it's a good distance from my city.
  18. I just "remastered" the new remastered version of Pink Floyd's The Wall album. The entire album is set at original speed. No clipping. Enhanced the 10hz-65hz range in even equalization. (meaning, if anything was boosted, the entire track was boosted evenly to maintain the original peaks and dips) I will be keeping this in the car for when someone wants to listen to it.. It is one Helluva awesome demo album to play non-stop. All 0.75second silent sections between each track have been removed to provide seamless playback.
  19. I'm not comparing ssd to ramdisk... I can get extra ram easy cheap. Been reading when using a ramdisk to point all temp dir of all apps to it. Ie- For me that would be Firefox Windows Goldwave Audacity Tmpgenc Audioconverter Mkvtoolnix And any other app that uses temp dir
  20. well, let's look at SSD... I'm assuming you are saying blazing fast just based on specs... While I cannot use a Ramdisk UNTIL i get in Windows, after that, Ramdisk will destroy a SSD. SSD can be used to boot the system up.. Ramdisk cannot.. at least not a software ramdisk. But after that, Ramdisk is tons faster than SSD. i see some people use this for browsing cache... well, i don't have a speed problem with surfing the net. The only thing that takes time is compression, extraction, transcoding, CAD work and Office products bootup as far as i can tell. Transcoding is cpu dependent CAD work is video card dependent Office may be disk speed dependent but a ramdisk is for temporal storage so no installing programs on it "safely".
  21. the benchmark numbers above are in MB/sec, not Mb/sec So my ramdisk can run at over 3,000MB/sec vs 95MB/sec on a 7200rpm drive See the difference? So.. what can i use it on because i see no difference for transcoding and compression\extraction times.
  22. You can use your RAM as a storage device with the use of Dataram software. It basically installs a driver, allocates a pre-determined amount of MB (up to 3,496MB) of RAM to be used for this device. Ramdisk is TONS faster than an SSD which is 2-4x faster than a mechanical drive.... according to benchmarks. Now, since i got the speed.. what can i use it on? if i can find something beneficial for it.. then i will purchase more RAM but if i can't, then what's the point?
  23. Interested in the capability of a ramdisk.. I have a q9300 running at 3.4ghz, ddr2 corsair dominator at right under 1066. Gave just 600mb of memory to ramdisk. All my other drives in the computer are standard 7200rpm drives either individual or Raid 1. I compared my 7200rpms first using Crystal Diskmark. I only tested the SEQ test.. they were in the mid 90s in both read and write... So then i move onto the Ramdisk- SEQ = R- 2834 W- 3767 512K = R- 2945 W- 3123 4K = R- 559 W- 436 4K QD32 = R- 506 W- 402 I did a couple tests comparison of the following of both source and destination file in same location- TMPGEnc transcoding 10min video clip, standard dvd template, VBR 2-pass 7200rpm drive- 4min 23sec Ramdisk drive- 4min 22sec Winrar - maximum RAR compression for ~250mb file 7200rpm drive- 1min 15sec Ramdisk- 1min 17sec Winrar - extraction RAR compression for ~250mb file 7200rpm drive- 5sec Ramdisk- 4sec So.. if the Ramdisk is so much faster, why am i not seeing faster times? I can understand TMPGEnc is mostly cpu demanding but i've always heard Winrar is dependent on hard drive speed.. apparently that's not true at all. So.. what dramatic speed increases will I see when using a Ramdisk? What benefits from a massive speed increase from the storage device?
  24. when you say killer lows.. that to me would indicate an excessive amount, therefore, larger box. Keeping the box within specs has greater potential to not lose the 40-60hz area in music like what you are experiencing. But many people who want crazy lows only want the lows...mainly because they are decaf fanatics.
