Glad to know being unemployed still is increasing my chances of a good outcome. Unfortunately this also means that less jobs are available and I'm having a bitch of a time finding that income. It doesn't at this point here in the US. If we did it better it would be more effective. I know here in FL we see people doing the 6 ft thing in doses, but not like we should. Considering how densely we are populated, this will need to change. One way or another. Being separated DOES help slow/stop the progression of the disease. This has been shown historically. Combine that with proper sanitation precautions and you will see the numbers slow their rapid increase. I totally get you feeling hurt by this more than most. Your current medical state makes you more prone than most, and for you ultimately more dangerous if you do contract it. I have friends, my parents (mom, step-dad, and dad), and other family in the same 'high risk' boat. It makes sense to be a bit of a dick and we love you too bro. That being said, with your research on the subject, what would you do differently? I understand if we had a time machine a shit ton could be done, but for the here and now what do you suggest? I can guarantee you have read more than I have. J

I wouldn't trust most of the news either. Colleagues are the best sources of information IMO. I know from talking to guys I served with who are in South Korea and Japan that those countries are taking shit seriously and taking any and all appropriate precautions. It seems like here it's more of a question about what they can get for their efforts as opposed to what is best for mankind as a whole. J

How the fuck Florida has not done a REAL stay at home order is beyond me. We have 'Safer at home' in some counties, but nothing making people stay there. People can still go wherever they want for a variety of reasons. Anyone coming from NY or NJ is ASKED to 'self-quarantine' for 15 days, but it's not mandatory. Beaches are 'closed' but there are tons of loopholes there too. It's a gigantic shitshow for us. J

Nation wide; yes. Here in FL they are found in larger concentrations. I'll be honest, I'm also concerned for my Pops. He just turned 65, his cancer is currently in remission (still weakened immune system from chemo etc), has diabetes, and owns a company in an industry that does not get a break from this. He's doing what he can to only be at home or in the office. Unfortunately his employees are still out there daily fixing things in stores and hospitals so they can serve people their food. It changes a lot of things for him. J

I feel for the people who are insanely susceptible to getting this. They have to exercise extra caution and the abundance of 'who gives a flying fuck I'm going to do anything I wanna do' makes that difficult. Especially here in God's waiting room. We also (as a country) don't have the older population percentages that a country like Italy has. That plays a large part too. Add in the people going into full crisis meltdown mode.....that shit doesn't help either. J

So no word back on my interview with the VA yet. Unless I head differently tomorrow I'll be there on the 18th. Considering most people start off as a GS4/5 at the VA, getting in at a GS7 isn't too bad. It would be great if I could get a few steps in due to my service, but I'm not counting on it. J
