Both taken at 11mm, 1/250s and therein lies the problem as my F stop was all the way in the 3's on the trees. Just means I can't enlarge that one too much.Wednesday should be fine. I am out doing some consulting at Starkey today.Really amazing. You have an eye for shots Sean. J

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I am thinking long term I may want a full frame some day. I have the potential to make some money off shooting... I just don't know if I want to turn something I like this much into an obligation even if it makes people and myself happy. If you don't mind my asking, shooting what and for who? J Well I have been done pre and post photos at 2 weddings and a few concerts. Also some family functions with video. I haven't been the main photographer, but I could have if I had invested in portrait friendly lenses, and flashes/reflectors. I really should call the photographer who did our wedding. Ask him his opinion. He is a photo journalist primarily, but did an AMAZING job for our wedding. He is a fantastic guy. Most wedding guys are effing D bags. Obviously we all need portraits, but 99.9% of an event like that is the bride, and the people she loves and the day. It shouldn't be a photoshoot IMHO with tons of manufacturing of shots. Weddings I have no experience to speak on. Concerts on the other hand I will saymare one hell of a challenge. No flash allowed, limited shooting angles, and quite often random light flashes/pyro to work with. I really need to step up my game on shooting modes, and on how to adjust my settings. Soon I'll start more adjustments and shots with my current body, but I'll be picking up a higher end one VERY soon, some flashes, and more glass. J

Not bad and a decent price. If I can get the bird sold sooner than I initially anticipated I may go that route. J

50mm of course but what about a cheaper lens than the high end canon prime, You don't need and really won't see the benefits from the high end so why get it first when you can drop so much less money to get your goal.http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Camera-Lens/dp/B00007E7JU I am waffling on the 1/4 or 1/2. right now I have have so many shots wrecked because of lower light. So I could benefit from either. If you do start pixel peeping, the 1/2 and 1/4 are really close. The build quality of the 1/8 is really bad, and is extremely hard to use. The focus ring is a bitch. I may not have such a hard time with using the 1/4. But I got to use the 1/2 and even not knowing too much about photography it is built better. Other solution is get a better body and bump that ISO up to combat the low light. I cannot wait to buy a new body. The D3000 is nice but not what I really want. J
