Okay I don't usually rent vehicles but I could use some help. Whats the cheapest way to rent a vehicle? Going to be flying in late night the 20th, and back out around 2 on the 29th of November. I would really prefer something AWD or 4WD due to some of the hills/mud and such back home around that time. Trying to save as much on the vehicle as possible. Plus I despise riding in an actual 'car' when stuck near snow plows, or crazy NY/Canadian drivers. J

I had my ears cleaned yesterday with an otoscope and got to watch. It was gross. Ordered some killer earplugs though. >30dB reduction and comfortable. Custom made for your ears? Yep. I would love to have a pair myself, but this company is too damn cheap. They start at $45. Mine were $80, but I got soft ones that basically block everything out for sleeping. Considering you hear NOTHING but your sled when you ride I'll use them for that too. Never had custom plugs. Always use what the Army has provided me. So far so good. J

And I fucking hate him for it. I can't train legs any more. Damn knees. J My buddy from the navy is almost bone on bone now. Wont replace his knees until 45 either.....You guys get worked too hard for too little. My leg is huge right now. Sooooook fukkking swollen. It's so puffy that it is making the crust of skin from my psoriasis split. I will take this over the arthritis all day everyday and twice on sunday though. I would be a complete liar if I didn't admit that by day 3 when it was unbearable I wanted to walk into traffic. Mine is not that bad. I just have bad ligaments and tendons, combined with fucked up cartilage. J

Jmac, As Sean just said (as I type this) sorry to hear about the health brother. What is the exact problem if you don't mind my asking? Is there any cure or things that can be done to help beyond what is happening now? IIRC you mentioned not being able to work due to this illness, and remembering your fire for work and life before I'm sure its one hell of a depressant brother. My heart goes out to you and your loved ones right now man. Is there some online work such as possibly article or website editing, or shit there of you could do? Might help you a bit if you have something to work on? Dem beats- I know what you were getting at about the military budget. I may have misrepresented my ideas. I just want to see more of that budget go to our pay. When a 23 year old pimple face college grad is in charge of me and those I serve with and makes over 2 times what I make just because he went to college I have a problem with it. I have a problem with it when this same 2LT needs to be spoon fed all this info, and yet he thinks he is god. Its a political game, and I understand it. The rules change so much tho, I can barely keep up. J

You do realize that military spending is not all defense. Much of it is research. And that research pretty much developed every cool technology that you can't live without. I know, but.. with all the money the country has spent and continues spending... Then one year, lets say a certain % of soldiers is brought back here. Let's say that's the % we were waiting for. Well, if the military budget were to still continue being spentfunded the way it was when we deployed all these soldiers over there, then that would be plenty of money for research, etc.. But, in the end.. we do not work in the government so we just sit back as spectators and comment on what we think we know.. Most of the time i just give up. Isn't anything we can do.. That isn't the spending I am worried about. Big government and useless social programs are WAY more wasteful. *just like military and infrastructure SOME social programs are necessary....just not many. Our current dipshit administration has no idea on what is good and bad in this regard. Part of that spending is also to pay us. The Officers are paid VERY well, Warrant Officers are paid damn well too. Enlisted aren't paid worth a damn until they E-7. Promotion from E-4 to E-5 all the way up till E-9 is a numbers game. No guarantee you will make it, EVEN IF you are the bets man for the job. Additionally we have people all over the globe. Gotta pay to move, feed, house (and their family if married), train and if needed deploy those people. When Katrina hit, best bet your ass people didn't complain about National Guard AND Active Duty Soldiers showing up to help out. To move people, to move damaged homes, to help clear the way for other help to come in. Best bet nobody bitched when the company they worked for got a Multi-Billion dollar contract to move equipment or supplies with a quickness. Point is if anything needs to be done for defense spending, they need to pay the regular Enlisted Soldier more. J

As for the election. Well we are fucked again. Lets see here WWIII or a Civil War because someone takes him out.....which will it be? J
