Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I am a Nikon guy. Talking to numerous other photographers (some of whome are Canon fans) they all love the D750 I picked up. Not a bad thing to say. The glass suggestions you have made are exactly what my targets are. The Sigma ultra is one I have looked at before, and they make some great glass. Oddly enough Tamron also makes some great glass for Nikon in the full frame area from what I read. One solid issue here is unless I want to spend 2hrs round trip I am lacking a good camera shop near by. All we have is a few service centers that also tend to cater to Canon, Lika, and 35mm. Granted the lastbtime I REALLY looked was over a year ago. J

Hence being on the hunt for better glass. The laptop is a want, but not a need for what I am doing. I have been fortunate enough to have some higher profile companies and people in the wrestling and music world give me feedback in the past. I am learning and growing each session I shoot. I will say wrestling is more challenging than music to photograph. Except when they red wash the stage. That is a killer for great photographs. J

Lololololololololol That's prescious. Good rule of thumb though. Then you do a wedding built before Christ. Or a funeral or some such. No flash, lucky if you can spot or use a light bar.... That is what a tripod is for. Remember I don't usually shoot people. I let ISIS do that. That's where the problem lies. Most of my shooting is indoors, well lit but fast paced action. Professional wrestling moves very quickly, as do concerts. Both of which flash is extremely frowned upon. With the wrestling I am shooting guys from 20-40 feet away with ropes in the forground. This tends to 'trick' the camera into focusing on the ropes more than the wrestlers themselves. If I was shooting ringside, it would be much much easier. Better glass wouldn't hurt either. Hopefully the new major and classes will help refine my abilities much more efficiently than I have been able to do on my own. J

It's partially a problem due to the variable fstop on my lenses. I need to pick up some prime lenses. The ambient light in most of the areas I have been shooting is great. But with the variable fstops I have to increase the ISO to compensate for the lack of light being let in. In turn I am getting more noise. J

Not bad pricing. I need more target ammo for my .45, and to get out on the range more. Hopefully before my 31st birthday I'll finally pick up an AR for myself as well. J Great co to deal with. This is my 3rd time buying from them. I recommend them. Good to know. I will keep them in mind. J

Lightroom. Lightroom. Lightroom. Photoshop is better but it's slower and you need to know more to the most out of it. Lightroom is basically a digital darkroom. Noise can be cut or made to look pleasant in seconds. Lightroom is what I have been looking at. I'm hoping I can get a school discount, but I know my current laptop will not properly support it. J

Glad to see all the car talk lately, but I have to ask a photography related question. What do all of you use for editing? Aside from needing to get a new laptop (2010 Toshiba is losing battery life extremely quickly, and it is slower than pond water) I want to get some new editing software. Noise has been killing my photos lately, and the current software I have is not as great for me as it once was. J

Point made. While the Tundra gets less (more off road than street truck tires) and I use premium as the MPG on regular unleaded is much less than on premium. Additionally in Pinellas the gas is 2.02 for regular and 2.42 for premium due to taxes. Additionally I have put on 71k on it since I picked it up in July 2011. It's rare I come close to the 5mths on the oil change (usually hit 5k in a few mths). The XC60 is just an example. I've looked at a few others, I just loved the Volvo I rented before. Yet your example makes enough sense to disuade me from doing it. J

Run the math to see how many miles you'd have to drive to save money switching vehicles. Its a lot if its any money out of your pocket to change vehicles. I'd be looking to either trade with no money out of pocket or to put some in. Right now the truck booked for 23,500 a few weeks ago. Down here 4x4 Tundra's are not all that common. The vehicle I had for a rental and loved was the Volvo XC60. Great gas milage, still some nice get up and go. Both on regular unleaded. The Tundra on the other hand loses about 1-3 mps going from super to regular, so gas costs me about 2.50 a gallon now. J Easy enough to just spell out your expenses and what the alternative will yield. Rarely does it help, but it can if you drive a pig and switch completely in the other direction. That's what I am doing. Looking to see if it's worth the hassel going from a 5.7 to a 3.2 (optional turbo depending on which one), as well as what savings it may have. J

I changed my major today, and all my classes for next semester for the forseeable future look to be about 30- 45 minutes each way (damn traffic). That being said it makes me wonder if I would be better off with something more fuel efficent than the Tundra as there is no 'highway' to cut down the stop and go. Am I braindead to look for something more fuel efficent that wouldn't cost me anything out of pocket (possibly even put some in my pocket) and just get a mid sized SUV with a smaller engine and better MPG? I refuse to go down to a car as I just do not feel safe in them. J
