Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Looking for a 4 or 5 string with active pickups, narrow (read not extra deep) neck, painted fretlines. Much like you, I tend to play more on feel. Needs to be comfortqble sitting to practice as my Dean flying V is not.Not opposed to the right acoustic as well. The fretless you found is a steal at 175 especially if the glide is right.JAre you only interested in painted lines? ie, are dots enough? Have you tried to use a footstool like classical guitarists with the Dean? Do you like the Dean neck? The frets actually confuse me on a bass, but I played upright for so long and just grabbed an electric for when I couldn't travel wtih the upright. I love attempting to play old school funk or flea funk on the bass. I used to have a Fender Jazz Bass and a nice Peavey. At some point around 2000 I bought a Japanese Ibanez for dirt cheap which is all I have now. Still fun to pound on occasionally. Amazingly nice action for the $125 I paid for it lolMore of a lines kind of guy. I have played with dots but I get off a bit too easily at this point. Usually I play one leg up, other leg supporting the body. With the V the only resting spot while seated is in the notch, making reaching the top of the neck a PITA. That being said, the neck while standing glides easily in my hand, not too wide, but could stand to be slightly thinner. The Fender Jazz bass and the old Peavy I played in HS was a copy of the Fender strat body. I also had a DeArmond JetStar that was great to play, but was a bitch to sit and play. Ibanez has never had the right feel or sound for my taste, as I tend to bounce between a jazz line, and a metal line. All depends on my mood, J I don't like the new either but for the price it is sweet. Sou d on a bass to Mr is all pickups and strings but feel is HUGeThe body does play a factor as does the neck setup. Hell the difference in tone with a fretless and fretted Fender jazz bass is HUGE.I will agree that feel is paramount J play the same sake exact bass made out of two different woods and you'll agree a lot more. Sustain is about all that changes and even that is pretty slight. Not saying a pos will sound like a fender jazz bass but within reason I find no differenceVery true Sean. I try to feel and listen to the sustain before plugging in. Pickups and strings can be changed, settings on an amp can be edited, but it's useless if the sustain and the feeling of the neck in your hands is not right. While they may seem like 'minor issues' to the novice, they are huge deals once you get even the basics down. Part of my love for fretless is the ability to adjust the tremolo with less risk of fret buzz. J

How do I get RCAs on my factory head unit?
They do make them for both high and low notes. Best be is to get one that does both and have a seperate processor that can seperate the signal more efficently. OR spend the extra coin, get the adaptors for your headunit wiring, buy a good aftermarket HU, and do it right. J

Anybody have a good hookup on business plan software? Looking for something that is 'plug and play' for a 5 year plan, that doesn't require 10+ hours of calculations to make it work. J

Line out converter or get a shop to do it. J

Decent piece, but I hope you got some range time with it before you purchased it. Nothing worse than taking a loss on a gun you're 'trying' out. You can have all the knockdown power in the world, but if it is uncomfortable, or not accurate for how you shoot, it is nothing but a overpriced paper weight. J

Thanks! Would have the steering done by now but its harvest week! Had to get up at 2 this morning just to get some wrench time in. lol Gathered that about ASU after watching the "smashed" video's with Ivy. Don't know about August just yet. Am heading to Disneyland for springbreak. Plan on hitting Lake Tahoe this summer, for the ropes course and some jet skiing! Need to make it up to Idaho at some point. Let me know when it gets closer, I would love to hang out. Yikes brother!!! Had to of been hellaciously cold turning wrenches at that hour! ASU is really hit and miss, the plus side is we do have a forum brother down there who's a great guy. So if ahe needed anything I am sure he could help ya out. As for August, I will let you know what the plans are. Summer semester is over July 24th and I need to get home and see the kid for a week or so. Past that I should be rather free. Just gotta budget shit out. J

Look at guitar center's website as well. They have ample soloists of different models and all over the country. A few may be right up your alley. J

I wasn't certain about thr first one and the second one once I double checked and saw that it was painted not oiled neck, I knew it wasn't right. I'm still on the hunt for the right fretless bass. Sadly I don't know what it is yet. I'll know it when I play it. The closest so far is a made in America Fender jazz bass and a custom PRS bass that I came across. Sadly that bass was well over what I want to pay. J

The car is coming along like a champ jared and yes ASU is quite a party school. While they have great education, the ratio of whores to decent women is easily 3:1. BTW are you going on vacation this summer? I am planning a trip to NY the beginning of August and am considering swinging out to CO for a week as well. Sean what model Soloist is it you are truly after? I found a few SL2H with the floyd rose tremolo and seymor duncan pickups with the neck thru design. Both are around 1200 and are listed on the tampa CL. Not on much due to school and other commitments. J

Oh no, not at all, a little Japanese manufacturor with a very limited line up, should be getting its doors blown off by GM. But yet, so much of GM seems to be filled with recalls and outsourcing now and little ole' Mazda is making lots of forward progress in their limited models selection. As for new vehicles, I don't even consider them anymore. I have been a Mercedes person from day one, through the years in the family, there have been far more Mercedes than any other. But, to clarify that, they are all older "don't make 'em like the used to" Mercedes. I am a bit spooked by the amount of complexity of new Mercedes. My Mazda bias is due a lot to their simplicity and lack of shit to go wrong, making them reliable and easy to work on/modify.Was it Mazda that is coming out with the 550+ horsepower electric car? I seen a add a while back I might be thinking of something else.I believe it had 3 motors..IdkNot that I know of. They have not done much with alternative propulsion and are choosing to optimize gas/diesel though very high compression, making the cars more affordable, easier to own for all, and less heavy than electric cars.Maybe it was Acura..I seen it on Yahoo's homepage not to long ago.I will see if I can find it. What kind of cuts Sean? Anything in particular on the Tundra spring to mind? J

Hopefully when I get out there this summer I get to meet more of the family. How is Trixie doing? Was a trip talking shit with all of you as she photographed me undergoing therapy. J
