Welcome to the IHoP v.2
What do thos dummys weigh and how tall are they? Most mini van drivers are 200 lbs or more and under 5'7". There are rare exceptions though. J Yeah they just made an announcement about a month ago that they're developing newer, heavier dummies because the ones currently used no longer represent the size of the average American. Long overdue. J

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Having a brain MRI on Tuesday myself. I've have felt pressure all around my head for the last few weeks and sometimes feel like my vision gets a little funny throughout the day. I can't shake it and it's frustrating. I wake up some mornings feeling just like I'm hungover (sans nausea). some days it just goes away and other days I feel like crap most of the day.what's going on with you? (If you care to share) First, J, how did I miss this!?! I hope it comes back ok. Looking for a bruise/trauma? I think you mentioned that one time. Maybe my memory is going.... Mike, bro, wtf man! Not good! I hope it comes back that you are just too smart and your intellect is smushing your brain. Then you can get an Rx for bourbon and kill a few. Hope they figure it out quick Mike!! Those things suck! Well long story short I have had migraines off and on (supposidly in part due toscoliosisof the top of my neck) pretty frequently since my last tour. While in I cracked my head pretty damn good from various things. As such, I have been seeing a TBI doc. The first MRI they ordered showed some damage, but they weren't 100% on how bad it might be, so they ordered this one. In addition to regular damage, they are checking the pituitary gland as well. With my meh abolity to build muscle, burn fat and grow real facial hair, they are wondering if something isn't functioning quite right. I figure since they have not called me yet, they didn't find anything God awful. We shall see. J

Side note, today is a with and w/o contrast brain MRI. Time to see more in depth what is fucked up, what is not, and what is just dead space. Hopefully this gets some answers. J

No joke, this is from WKBW in Buffalo. The Southtowns are where I spent my teens, Cheektowaga/West Seneca area. They traditionally get more snow than the city and northtowns. For Sean... NYS Thruway, I90 Oh Buffalo... how I miss thee... or not. Just another reminder why I didn't move back to WNY. I know I wouldn't have moved into Buffalo, or down in Olean but right in the middle. Glad I chose FL. J

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Took my cillege placement tests yesterday. Scored better than I expected on two of them, and about where I guessed on one. 123 Reading 113 Writing 83 Math. I can get into the honors program for English with a 115 in Writing, so today I'm going back to retest. The math score means I will be taking 'Developmental Math'. Honestly, this does not surprise me. My math grades have always been piss poor, so this may be an opportunity to get back on track with it. J

What was the first statement related to? Lol so random.I told you man. I used every 70-200 they had and the 2.8 USMii is not just an upgrade. It's a huge leap ahead.J asked an expenditure questionLooks like some great glass. A bit pricey (for me) in the 70-200 models but from the images shot with it, damn what a lens.I may just step up the body for now as my D3000 has been used for 4 years now and had numerous bumps.JI'd rather have a shitty body and real glass than the other way around. With all the suggestions here, Better glass will be where my money (if spent) will go for now. I missed this. What Sean said.If you go full frame you can "get away with" 24-70 and 70-200. If you use a crop sensor you will want wider.2.8 aperture.IS is something you can deal without. I wouldn't want to on the long end of that 200 though. It really depends on what you shoot. I shoot portraits 80% or more. 95% are not posed. Almost 99% cannot be duplicated (wedding, birthday, event). So I care about IS and speed of focus more than someone who spends their time at wide angles shooting scenery.I'm horrible with long exposures actually. I don't practice them either and I really should. No crop sensor. The IS is very important as I shoot concerts (from time to time), and what are posed shots are few and far between. The reason for looking into an upgrade in body is also due to the development of faster shutter speeds, better mirrors, and a more efficent IS sensor.JI barely need the IS on the 24-75..... but I chose that rather than the ever so slightly faster focus of the Canon offering. It was nice that it saved me money, but for me at the moment cost is no object and I still chose the IS.It's not needed for most situations, until you end up in a church in Italy that was build before before the city burned to the ground. Crazy dark in some places. Concerts should have enough light to make IS not needed and you need to shoot those fast anyway.I would probably still want it though. If it was sports with a lot of lighting though, and I assume concerts to be relatively the same, I would want the fastest focus. How far away are you when you shoot a concert J?On the non-tele IS won't help in a concert. Audience and stage is moving so long shutter speed is pointless.I really, really wish my 11-16 was an IS though. It would help on that lens more than anywhere.Typically shooting from in front of the crowd. Its rare to have to shoot from the sound board (pyro the whole set causes this). This is just one example of my usual angle. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i117/InkedBass/RockStar%20Mayhem%20Festival%202012/MayhemFest2012_508.jpg

Sometimes right in front pit barricades (in the photo pit) standing in front of a stage, shooting somewhat upward. Other times 15 rows back of the stage by the sound board. Some are rather dark, others have strobes, flash bulbs, etc everywhere. Other activities (sports etc) all depend as well. J

Game should have been a blowout. Not having Watkins was a BIG thorn in our side. Especially with Spiller out and Jackson not even close to 100%. J

Looks like I may have some coin I can spend on some new camera gear. What size glass have you guys been using lately and what for? Looking at a new body too, but that will be a last minute decision. J

I have an M&P Shield in 9mm. I am more of a revolver guy, but I really like this little pistol. I like it so much I am planning on grabbing it in .40 by the end of this year. FWIW, the only other gun I ever liked so much that I bought up into the series was around the time you were born when I bought a Colt Python and followed it up with an Anaconda. I had a .38 revolver that fired when I dropped it in the rain when I slipped on the back deck..Yes I was drinking and was going to shoot at some racoons that had been getting in the trash..it was a Taurus..lol had like 50 something stitches on the inside and a boatload on the outside....LMAOHence why you don't fuck with guns while drinking. Glock M&P springfield In order of preference. Keep in mind they are all close IMO. I own the M&P in the .45 and a Glock will be my next purchase. I have seen both Glock and S&W used and abused by a few 'select' groups of people, and overall the Glock took the most abuse and kept on working. IMO they are the AK of the pistol world (just more accurate). J

Sir, you are part of the family here, whether you like it or not. So you will always have a place to open up to or just get out your thoughts. It's one of the few places to go and openly vent, while getting real answers and not some bullshit. J
