  1. Most of the time I could not agree more. J
  2. This is why many smaller butchers have gone to Omaha Steaks for their sales. Add in the fact that many specialize in grass fed beef, or exotic meats like bison, elk, and bear; it's a great thing. Many people prefer the convenience of going to the store, and choosing their own cuts of meat, so the price needs to be justifiable. J
  3. Goddamn that's a bitch. Add in the HU issues....horrible. As for the AC; contact local AC repair shops. They often times have 'old' units kicking around. Some for parts, some because they haven't been re-sold yet. Might be worth the time to call around. J
  4. It's a hodgepodge of different skillsets around here. Much like Sean and others have said in the past "If you're the smartest guy in the room, it's time to find a new room." I find myself consistently learning in here. It's a beautiful thing. Well if you get $5 a lb to sell it to a slaughter house, and $7 a lb to kill and trash it.....which way ya gonna go? There is a massive glut and the biggest problem is not having the assets to transport orders around in a timely manner. I know beef and chicken go for a decent price around here. If we had farmers or small butcher shops that could compete....they could clean house. J
  5. If you guys really want commercial parts to build a pizza oven, let me know. I'll see what I can do through the family business to help. J
  6. I'm sorry to hear that Mike. If you need an ear, or if I can somehow help, let me know. I haven't been in your shoes, but I've learned a lot from family going through similar things. J
  7. Hope everyone had a stellar Father's Day. Took the girl to check out an open house today. No research before showing up, but I had seen the signs yesterday (it's .5 a mile away), and decided to go look. 639k, but a beautiful home. Damn near everything I want, but it's in a flood zone, and the fencing could use adjusting. Plus that's well outside my budget. Nice realator though. After finding out the price and saying it was well outside my budget, he encouraged us to look around, and told me about a similar home in another neighborhood that will be in the market in 90 days or so. Looking at 325-365k there, so another house to see. Well on the way back we saw another open house sign. It was for a house just down the road from my current apt, and we had wanted to look at the last open house (the week before) but we overslept and missed it after a late night. Needless to say at 352k it was way over priced. It screamed out 'amateur flipper' when you walked in. Bright white walls, cheap models of 'high end' appliances, horrible landscaping, all the doors were 'new' but also from the closeout section of HD or Lowes. Quite disappointing for the price. J
  8. Fair enough. Wasn't sure if it might fit the bill. J
  9. 4 Runner? Same build is offered as a Lexus but 1/2 the price. Solid, reliable, and easy to find used. I've driven a few of them and the space in the back can easily accommodate a chair if need be. I don't remember what is going on with him (please excuse my memory) but if I can help man, let me know. J
  10. All of this makes sense. For me it's not that I 'hate' gifts, but the only ones that mean anything are the ones that have thought put into them. I've received a few that damn near had me in tears over the years. It's rare though. J
  11. Any reason? J
  12. You're a rarity there. I typically try and tell someone where my mind is when I contact. If I look at it and say "eh he's about 30 over what I want to pay' I message them and ask if that price is good with them. Nothing worse than wasting my time or the seller's. J
  13. IMO take what you really want to get, and add 20% to the price. Give ya room for them to try and drive it down. J
  14. I'm curious on the out of towners....why are most of the arrest reports saying they are locals to their cities? J
  15. Such as? J
  16. With any luck this will quell soon. They had peaceful protests in St Pete today, and rioting in Tampa. Now that the main cop has been arrested, IMO the charges need to be greater, and the other three charged. At least from everything I've read, and videos I've seen IMO. It's a real shitshow now, and if it doesn't quell soon, martial law could be underway...... J
  17. LOL Stay safe guys. Total shit show from what we are hearing. J
  18. I also got something figured out for the gift. My old roommate's dad had 2 lumber mill saw blades, about 30 ft of HEAVY railroad chain, and some other metal goodies. She drove it down to me last night. Her younger brother wanted a guitar so I swapped him a guitar for the stuff. Win-win for everyone. J
  19. A totally silent Ih0P.....it's creepy LOL J
  20. Work/life balance man. Nobody dies wishing they had spent more time at the office. J
  21. Totally understandable. J
  22. This is a short time frame post. I'm trying to source a few more pieces for a friend's birthday this weekend. Anyone have any of the following they'd be willing to sell for a solid price? The older and more 'rustic' looking the better. He has been unable to source materials due to this lock down, and him being a cancer survivor, he has been kept home for a hot minute. Supplies are low, and pricing around here (if you can find a damn thing) is insane. -Old gauges -Machine chains -Unusual nuts and bolts -Speaker baskets -Fly wheels -Cranks -Old circular saw blades J
  23. Hell most of the time in the Military that is EXACTLY what is expected. Sick call? LOL Until the damage is too severe to fix, keep going. The number of 'in my day we didn't so now you can't' is insane. J
  24. LOL That's not a bad thing man. Better than staring because you can't fit through the doors with all that belly. We have a few families like that down here. J
  25. We had schools like that back home too. J
