On tools the only things I can say is that the majority of my tool chest is Craftsman ( three 'sets' and about 150 miscelanious pieces from unadvertised Sears sales, and yard sale finds). My favorite wrenches were stolen on my move to FL (snap on) and the mechanics I served with either had 'acquired' tools, or spent the money on Snap On. The only people I saw using MAC or MATCO owned shops. Have you checked your local craigslist or pawn shops? I know in AZ and here in FL tools are always being sold, and often at 1/3 or less the 'new' price. If you want to PM me a list of what you need in sizes, I can check and see if I have doubles of anything (I especially have a shit ton of sockets) If so I'll gladly send some your way. J

Sorry for interrupting the tool conversation, but I need to vent as well as ask some questions. I am going to be 30 in March. I have a 7 year old little girl who lives with her mom in NY. I have been divorced, can fit what really matters to me at the end of the day in a small uhaul, and my credit is a little better than average, even though I have debts I am paying off (on my own, not via payment plan or anything). Lately I feel like I have really wasted my life so far. I have seen places most can only read about in books, done things that wake me up at night, and have a body that loves to fuck with me as a reminder of that. That being said, I have been out of work since the end of April. I looked into trying my hand at auto sales, and quickly found out that their business model went strongly against my ethics. I have interviewed at 50+ jobs since then, and have recieved minimal interest. I don't know if I just interview like shit, the fact that I am missing a degree (get to that in a moment), or any other number of reasons. For the last month I have gotten limited replies to my resume. I tend to value myself in a high reguard due to my experience, professionalism, and attention to detail. I am having a hard time selling myself short and just taking something so I'm 'at least working'. I bring in a bit over a grand a month in disability via the VA, and most of that pays bills, and child support. The girl works full time, and while I miss working, I cannot bring myself to work for 10 an hr after my last job payed 19.10 an hr when I left. As for school, honestly I pissed away school time for the most part while I was in the military. Due to supervisors who consistantly demanded extra hours, I was hesitant to take in room classes, and online seemed like a crock of shit. While on my last deployment, I went back to school for a semester, and did decently. I have not been back since, and I think going back to school full time (on the GI Bill ) then finding whatever I can for part time work to kick in some extra cash. Going back scares the fuck out of me, and makes me wonder if it is worth it. I also am uncertain as what I should persue my degree in. I am mediocore at best in math and science, always did well in English, history, music and art. My color deficiency makes certain things a bitch, and often can be a real stressing facor. Is this normal to feel like you have wasted most of your life? To not know where the fuck you are going, how you will get there, or what to do when you arrive? Am I over analyzing the situation and stressing myself out too damn much? J

Haven't bought a ticket yet as DCA is so close, but it is $1000 to get in and out of there and WAY cheaper to BWI. Need to see what a car price is too... BWI being the biggest usually has the best pricing. Dulles/Regan is usually pricey.Surprised since Regan seems to be such a 'mid point' hub. J

Tmobile sucked big time in AZ, was shit outside of Buffalo in WNY, and is very hit and miss here in FL. Verizon was the way to go for me, and has been great for me since. Considering their international capabilities, I would assume they will be as good as Verizon in the next few years. J

I think I may go shoot this week or next. I need to get back into it. Considering all I have been doing is job hunting and looking at school, why not? Granted if I don't find solid well paying work by the end of September (5 mths after being downsized), I am going back to school in January full time, and will find some BS part time job to cover gas. Sadly I see cooking at a bar or something as my future PT job. J
