  1. Interview went VERY well guys. I was offered a secondary interview for the same day at 3:30 but had to take the one tomorrow (Friday) for 11 as it is expected to take 2 hours. Turns out I can type 58 words per minute, and get an 86% on their grammar test. As apprehensive as it makes me feel about the other possible employees, the next highest score was 38 words per minute, with 31 words per minute being their average. For the grammar portion, 71% was the average score and 94% was the highest, placing me just outside the top of the mark, but still in the top 1% of all possible employees. Well I came home tonight to find out from the little lady that they had an ad today for the Team Lead position (person I would answer to while starting) for a nice chunk more cash and a salaried position. Considering they are just starting off in this area, maybe I can walk into the bigger position. I am certainly going to let the interviewer for tomorrow know that I have applied for the other position, and hope that my researching the company and showing a drive for a higher position will at the least get me another interview for that position. J
  2. Time to get ready for this interview. J
  3. If I had something good to offer up in trade I would. J
  4. Interview with Netflix tomorrow at 2:30. Happy about the interview but apprehensive. Negatives: Only pays 12 an hour and is a call center position (tech support I believe) Positives: full benefits after 90 days (which I would want in writing since the last place has screwed me on this), 5 miles (or 10 minutes depending on traffic) from the house, and different shifts so there is options to get back to a more normal life. Uncertain's: is there room for growth? Will benefits require me to pay a portion of the premium and if so how much? Any issues with tattoos? (Mine are all coverable tho) How much (if any) can I negotiate salary? Is having more time home and less of a commute worth a 6 dollar an hr pay cut? Also as a side note, I met with my location big boss today. He is still unable to give me a timeframe for 'full hire' and no word on new contracts to provide room for promotion. On the plus aide of this conversation, I learned that as of next check we will be receiving a 10% shift differential for working the night shift, raising me to 19.80 an hour. Also, if I decide to put in my two weeks notice I can ask to withdraw it as late as the day it would take effect with no penalty, hard feelings or anything. Nice to know if I decide to move for a new job, and they pull out at the last moment that I can still stay. J
  5. It's all jacked up for me as well. J
  6. Makes you sick seeing that. Certainly does. J
  7. Don't let them bullshit you. Go to the next level. When I upgraded they told me I will loose my unlimited data on two of my lines and I laughed at them on the phone. I ask them how they feel about paying $.01 more for only 2 gigs? Paying more and getting less is not how I do things. Told them if they could not do any better they could shove their shit up their ass. I pay 30.00 for 6 gigs on two lines and my total bill went down almost $6 from the previous contract. Fight with them it works. Called again after I posted this. Got the bill dropped about 80 bucks after taxes. Still more than I want to pay, but found some places to trim the fat and such. J
  8. Need to do something.called once and basically got told I could reduce my data and thats it. J
  9. I think he means "is anything being done for those ordering from a P.O. box address?"..as in, did shipping charges change for them too? or any changes period? I don't order from P.O. addresses..just thought I'd help clear up his question Eventually, we will be setting up a USPS calculator for APO's, so you can see the shipping charges out there.Bare with us.Sounds great Mark. Just wanted to see about those serving in overseas assignments. J
  10. Anybody have experience in getting your cell company to lower your costs? I am WAY overpaying for my service now, and this bill needs to drop. I have only stuck with Verizon so long because their service was great everywhere I went. J
  11. I only walked out on one. That was back in HS and I had lined up another job one town closer for the same rate of pay. The job I left had cut my hours from 20-30 hrs a week to 4-8 because 'they needed to cut shifts to bring in new people' according to the shitbag who was making the new schedules. Needless to say after I left about 7 other people did, and we all got calls asking us to come back. None of us did. Hell 5 of the 7 were adults who had food to out on the table and bills to pay. Cutting hours like that screwed em good. My only suggestion is to TRY to talk to them about the problems with the shop, but have suggestions available on how to fix it,and why they will be profitable. J
  12. Agreed J
  13. Congratulations bro!!!! One is an offer from an employee who's boss hires who his employees recommend. The other is a 'preliminary' offer yesterday. I should hear back on that one this week. First offer- 10 an hr to start, then after training 23% commission per job. Jobs are assigned by the bosses, and when you do better work you get better jobs. The job is spraying countertops, bathtubs and tile. It's about 95% prep, and the rest actually spraying. Drive to the office, get the work truck (they supply tools and a company fuel card), and off to the job site. Some days its only a 150 dollar day, others can be a grand. Offers 401K and will pay towards obamacare since he killed their insurance. Profit sharing twice a year. No real ability to move up in the company, as the only two above you is the Forman and the owner. Second 'prelim' offer- Told they pay 9 but I have a feeling there is room to negotiate depending on position. Its working at the new gun shop/range that is just up the road from me. No real word on benefits but I would ask during the second interview. Great group of guys and girls working there, mostly veterans as well. Flexible schedule, and they are a local chain, so there is some room for advancement. Just weighing options. Currently the other job still pays more, but so many failed promises, and changes to their expectations with no change in pay has left me frustrated. I have never dreaded work so much. The feleling of 'I am doing something good for someone else' is basically gone. I am just debating on staying or going. I would give them two weeks notice if taking another position, and would offer them the opportunity to make shit right, which I doubt they would take as they can always replace me. J
  14. Mark, Is anything being done for those ordering from APO addresses? J
  15. Yay for being offered new jobs. Just gotta figure out how much extra gas is running me. J
  16. Have a safe trip and enjoy the time with the family! J
  17. Now can you explain the reasoning why the Lucas makes such a difference? I have heard such conflicting view points on this. J
  18. Well the truck I have now (purchased in July 11 If I remember right) has about 51k on it. i just remember the used king ranch I had picked up before the Tundra (which was returned) got MUCH better MPG's and yes the rolling coal was fun. Perhaps I am just trying to justify a want that isn't close to necessary. I do know that I refuse to own a car with how people drive down here. They just go too batshit crazy for me to drive something small. J
  19. Had a friend offer me a job today. Starting is 10 an hr while on training. After that its 23% of the project commission. Its spraying countertops, tubs and tile. Basically refinishing surfaces. Work truck with gas card and tools provided. Training is a minimum. Of 2 Weeks, but could be as long as 2 mths, depending on how I do. Better hours for time with the old lady, but unsure about it. Gotta look more into it. Maybe go for a 'ride along' to see how the job really. Is. J
  20. Good job Seth!! J
  21. Yup. That is the damn truth. My pal gets 27 in his old turbo 7.3(I think it's that one) Agreed on the maintenance, but 27 kicks the shit out of 14. J
  22. Shit man. REAL nice work here!!! We had a custom woodworking shop near me when I grew up. They also specialized in 'antiques' and it was all FAR over priced, even when comparing to other shops. J
  23. I only am interested due to the gas milage. Yes the fuel is more expensive, but they get much further than my Tundra does. The look and sound doesn't hurt either. j
  24. You also tend to look for more of a sports car handling ride. J
  25. A guy in my golf league has one, very cool styling and power is more than sufficient. I didn't expect it to be so expensive thoughI find it really hard to believe everyone is paying what they are asking. But it's a great vehicle IMHO. I've driven three of them. Fun trucks to say the least. One of the few things I would look into trading the tundra in on. Still have that diesel itch tho. J
