bp power?
whats the new bp power i see on the the q's?

is 1000 the same no matter the impedence????
BL^2 / Re. that number stays the same no matter how you wire the coils. ^X3 "Bl" is the force factor of the subwoofer. You are not going to change that with changes in impedance. there..that's my $0.02

SSD 15" 2, 4, or 6?
im not sur eif this is correct... if im wrong correct me someone but doubling cone area will be a 3dB increase and doubling the power will be a 3dB increase as well (not literally but something along those lines)

15" BL vs. 15" Avalanche
i would think it is p[retty biased to ask that question here... but i have 2 18" q's and they are the best sounding woofers i have ever owned! get really loud and sound DAMN good doing it. my merc. mounty. is GeTtIn It!

building my own sub
no not at all. all the parts were sent by scott. I had a project i had to do for school months ago. I emailed scott for help because i lost my previous parts distributors. He sent me a speaker kit to build my own. probably the older lower model parts. i think it was the fi x or something. but year basically i've shorted myself with the leads off of the coils. i want to add some more copper wire (single Strand) w/o having any impedance rise.

building my own sub
sure what would you like to know. its basically an ssd motor, with a 3" 4-layer voice coil, and the cone and dustcap are basically partsexpress ones and the basket is a standard 12 spoke. when i get my girls camera i will gladly post pics.

Which of the two would you do and why
im a basshead so i voted btls

how to set gain with Oscope??
thats if you dont have the o-scope on hand
-
how to set gain with Oscope??
call the dealer or maker of you amplifier and give them your impedance load and what model amp you have. they can tell you what to set your gains to in volts. hen use just a dmm for lets say 80 volts. put it on ac and turn the gain till you reach 80 volts.

damonhargroves07 replied to damonhargroves07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electricali gained it to 80 volts with my dmm. sounds great. i called rockford and they said 80 volts as well. thanks.

My van and new toys!
I havent finished rebuilding my extreme 1 van yet, but hopefully with the new power and monster sub at least a 175ish. anything less would be a bad thing. Mr Fleming has some wood work to do once I am finished with the steel work. stay tuned.. lets see this "monster" sub

ocsilloscope
i like that o-scope. its portable and battery powered for a reasonable price. i might just shell out an extra 65-80 for that one since it will do away with a lot of headaches. thanks for the help guys! if anyone finds anything better feel free to post. or just post what you guys use if anything.
