Enclosure question - bracing/polyfill
plug those parameters into WinIsd. It should automatically give you a sealed enclosure with a QTC of .7 if not adjust the enclosure volume until so. When building the box make sure you add the sub's displacement afterward. Do not include that into the enclosure when modeling. Like everything else there is no rule of thumb for enclosure stuffing. No one can tell you with out measuring the QTC. If you get a copy of Loudspeaker cookbook 7 it spells out the details for doing this.

Box size and tuning frequency
No it's not. Small's minimum port area formula is a good start.

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
Well, I spend all this time and money designing and verifying the least I can do is throw up a graph. The analyzer keeps track of both instant power and rms power over the whole test. The rms power which can be figured using the two lower lines (one for volts and one for amps) actually when calculated shows about 600 watts. However that figure is not accurate because it calculates RMS from the second the test started and you can see that from second one to second 200 not much power was applied. what you want to look at are the two top lines one for "instant" volts and amps. Being conservative you can see from second 300 to second 500 approximately 145 volts and 38 amps of current was applied. So the sub received approximately 5,510 watts for approximately 3 minutes before the sub reached a 100 kelvin increase in temperate, or the standard temp used when most coil glues fail.

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
The above was done with a 60mm long coil. The new coil is 10mm longer and the motor has a little bit extra cooling. I had the sample motor coned to a 18 in a 5 cubic foot box with proper port area (real proper port area) strapped to two IA 20.1's. I played it at normal listening levels for about 40 hours and I'd say 10-15 songs full tilt. The coil got a little stinky due to the fact it was new however I still have the cone and coil and it looks brand new. Once I get production in and Pat gets some free time I'm gonna have him put all the drivers in different alignments to get better real world rms ratings. At the moment I'd be confident in guestimating it at 1,700watts

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
Above is a voltage/Current graph from the large signal testing done on the 12" sample. Testing was done free air on a Klippel machine. The measure Re of the sub was 1.5 ohms (yellow) Urms = rms voltage applied (blue slashed) Upeak = peak voltake applied (gray) Irms = rms current (gray slashed) Ipeak = peak current The bottom is the time in seconds that the testing was done. Using ohm's law you can calculate the amount of power that was giving to the sub FREE AIR during the testing

complete list of drivers currently being worked on
This is the final sample I have coming with the Ethos production order. It uses a 3 inch 100mm long 8 layer flat aluminum coil with an Re of 1.75 ohms. That gives this motor a BL of 34.8 and a motor force factor of ~692. To their knowledge this is the largest 3 inch coil that precission has ever made. the motor uses two 270mm OD x 25mm thick magnets and a 50mm thick top plate and bottom plate.

(4) 12" Ported Enclosure
spent a few hours looking into how I will be attaching fiberglass laminates to the cars body panel. I'll put up a few photos of the process when I tackle that. I did spend a few minutes finish cutting the wood for the box and did a little assembling.

complete list of drivers currently being worked on
I am going to try to put together the drivers I am working on here in this one topic. I'll try to give all the info that I have available including expected t/s parameters, price, ETA, ect. This first one could cater to the SQ crowd. It's designed to work in pretty small sealed and ported enclosures. It will be available in 10, 12, and 15 inch models. Below is the expected 12 inch parameters. Projected specs. 12'' sub Re 2.06 (series) Fo 32.82 Qts .4686 Qes .5022 Qms 7 (estimated) Vas 23.01 liters BL 17.19 T/M xmax 22.5mm one way @ 82% BL or ~27.5mm @ 70% BL Rms 10.29 Mms 346.1g spl 89.8 @2.83 volts 750 watts rms COIL 8 layer flat copper ID 76.657mm OD 85.83mm 20 gauge copper 30mm winding hgt 213.9 turns AND A RECOMMENDED PORTED ENCLOSURE 1.5 cubic feet Fb 29.6 hertz F3 26 hertz Pemax 1072 watts ripple 0 DB CUT VIEW OF MOTOR This is a MMAG so you can see the two top plates. The silver are Faraday rings. As you can see the coil will be engulfed throughout its entire stroke. I have samples coming with the Ethos order in March. As long as everything comes as expected I will have a production order on this model for July. It should fall around the $350 price range. The faraday rings add about 40% to the manufacturing costs of the driver. 2ND MMAG DRIVER This is a very very stout 270mm (11 inch) OD motor. It,ll offer a daily or SPL option. I also have a sample of this motor coming with the Ethos production.

Amp(s) for 6 Lethals
I'm in the middle of doing a wall with 6 li 15's D2. They will be going on two 20.1's at 1.33 final load on each amp. If you can find one large amp you can wire all 6 subs down to 1.33

Wood cuting
Measuring tape ends are supposed to have slack to compensate for thickness so you can either hook or but the tape to what you are measuring. Verify that the t square is square. Most of the cheap ones that are riveted together aren't.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
And on another note some smart ass at dodge decided to make the rear speakers wires and the airbag wires the same colors. I had an installer snip a pair in the kick panel of a brand new caravan because he was too lazy to pull the rear quarter panel to bypass the amp. Let out every damn airbag on the passenger side. dash, roof, and seats. Brand new dealership vehicle was totaled with 5 mile on it.

pucking chevy, they don't know how to correctly name an accessory wire. Gotta watch that test light too. I've personally seen a data bus system fry.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I don't mean wires in the ignition harness. I mean the actual "ignition" wire.
