  1. Of course it cuts off when cranking. it's attached to an accessory wire. As already stated the only wire besides constant that remained powered when cranking is an ignition wire. what vehicle is it.
  2. Got the box in. Seats are in their complete rear position.
  3. Even better. Go there with a certified check and tell them you want to test drive it for the weekend. This is the purpose of program cars. I have never purchased a new car without testing a program vehicle for a few days.
  4. Money and credit talks. Go down to the dealership with the intent to buy and tell them you want to test drive for the weekend. If the dealers wants your business they'll give it to you.
  5. <--- has never met a redneck with a $1200 coffee grinder or a $600 juicer who eats miso soup. <--- also currently lives deep in redneck territory. What about a redneck with a $1200 grill and a $600 AK? Wait, shit. Hell with the AR. It's the redneck with the MCMillan 50 cal that you have to worry about.
  6. Picked up the batteries and got a little work done on the box.
  7. Persistence, hard work, and determination always pays off
  8. Download WinIsd to model your box. It comes with a tutorial. And they have a forum. Use the calculators on the12volt.com For port area and length.
  9. You DO NOT want a bandpass box. You will be 1/4 to 1/2 octave lower f3 with a ported box.
  10. No, if the car has an external factory amp then the factory output wires are low level. If not then they are high level. He didn't mean that it actually would have RCA ends. The loc basicall turns a high level (50 watts) signal to low level (5 watts). So if the car has an external amp all you would have to due is solder rca's to your headunit outputs and go directly to the amp.
  11. Your very application is the ONLY reason to EVER use bandpass enclosure. This is a forum for audio enthusiasts, for people who enjoy not only their systems but who enjoy having knowledge about their systems. Your not going to see anyone here go in depth of why and when to use what type of enclosure because someone asks the same question every week. One of the most basic parts about a system is frequency responce. All it takes is basic knowledge which can be found from any number of sources (loudspeaker cookbook prime example) to understand this. This knowledge along with the ability to read a graph and it is very easy to see why not to use a bandpass enclosure when a ported enclosure will fit the application. Besides M5 explained why in one of his very firsts posts. You or the OP may not have understood his wording but again it was basic terms used in system design and all it would have took was 10 minutes on google and it would be clear why it's never better to use a bandpass enclosure in a wall over a ported enclosure for a daily system.
  12. How do they know its allulminum? By the color? It could be pure copper and is just tinned to make it corrosive resistant.
  13. It's for a buddy of mine. This isn't his first system by any means. Off the top of my head, over the past 10 years I've done: ~$5,000 re/jl system in a m3 6 15 c pillar wall in a range rover with 6 BL's ~ $25,000 full jl system with 3 13 w7's in new body style range rover with a ton of fiberglass work. Jl system in MB 55 AMG 2 Jl w7's and highs in a new Camero 4 kicker L7 15's in a new body style escalade. ~ $10,000 focal and IA system in a M5 And now this. Giving the fact the wall will be wrapped in carpet and its not really labor intensive we can say this one will be "on a budget"
  14. I have no idea what you just said. The proper way to lift a truck is to have the ass end sit a few inches lower than the front to allow for better torque transfer to the ground.
  15. THE EQUIPMENT (6) IA LI 15'S (2) IA 20.1'S (2) DIEHARD PLATINUMS A LITTLE BIT OF 1/0 AMD SOME SPEAKER WIRE EVERYTHING WILL BE WRAPPED IN BLACK CARPET THE BOX THE TRUCK
  16. Fuses are put in place to protect the vehicle from fires caused by wire failure. The most common failure is due to the wire not large enough for its use. The second is when the wire is somehow cut or pinched causing it to ground to the vehicle. So you first use the right size wire for the job Then fuse for the rating of the wire Most alternator wires are not fused due to the fact it is impossible for it to ground out to anything.
  17. The birth sheets are Pemax. They do not account for capatance and reactance of the driver. They are tested with a resistor as their load. This is the reason why the CEA rating is lower than the birth sheet.
  18. The Magnetar will bolt up to a 12 spoke basket and only has about 40mm of xmax so it'll work decently with oem parts.
  19. That means you get a little taste first, let you get your feet wet, before you get your hands on full awsomeness. But from what you're saying, it'll be till the end of this year before this beast comes out, and its just January, THEN, that means the 120pound monster prob won't be out till 2017 The beast, lets dub it "Magnetar" due to the retarded amount of motor force, could be here in roughly 5 months. I have a sample of it coming with the Ethos order. Then another 2 1/2 to 3 months for production. As long as parts pricing holds steady it will be in the neighborhood of 500-550.
