THE EPIC MAGNETAR THREAD
I would consider the motor with this coil set up strictly SPL. It should have, and I say should have as it hasn't been assembled yet, the strongest motor ever put into production. Per FEA modeling it will have a BL of ~55 at one ohm. If the factory in China assembled it using the correct magnets (it uses two different grades of ferrite) the 55 figure should be close as my FEA programs are extremely accurate. Per Precision Econowind this is one of if not the biggest coils they have ever built for a subwoofer. The "daily" coil set up is still extremely strong. It should have a BL of ~22-25 TM at one ohm. At this figure it is still as strong as some Neo drivers on the market.

THE EPIC MAGNETAR THREAD
I know you won't be able to handle all of the pure awesomeness that is the Magnetar at one time so I'm going to ease you into it. The sample SPL coils have be meticulously inspected, packed, and shipped to the build house for assembly. If you feel any small tremors in the coming weeks just keep calm its just the guys at the build house charging all of the magnets housed in the 96 POUND motor. For your viewing entertainment a few pics and maybe even a few videos down the road will be view-able. For now here are the coils: The itty bitty coil is the Ethos which is 4 layers has windings that are ~2 3/8 inches tall and uses 19 gauge alluminum wire and is rated for 1,800 watts RMS The other one is the Magnetar SPL coil!!!!!! 8 layers that has a winding height of almost 4 inches. The OD of this coil is nearly 3.5 inches. And uses 15 gauge wire. Yes the magnet wire used on this coil is bigger than the speaker wire running to most speakers.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
We usually pull ours up by hand. Considering they have been here since 7:30 and I just got water now I am glad I am not...They gotta be charging by the hour OR there is no easy access to the well. You can get a new well and tank put in for that price around here. You can get a 5 horse 175 PSI pump and tank put in for 5k. Our water table is also around 200 feet here.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Had that happen to me last year. At 300 feet and fried electrical. It got hit by lightning, so I figured Nationwide would be on my side. Nope. $3600 to have it done (opted for the best pump available and the best wire) and they shit on me. Fuck Nationwide. I dropped those c-words. Shoulda went to lowes. They got 1h submergable pumps for like 3 bills.

thinkign of make a big chance in subs
4 inches isn't enough to cancel out ~65 hertz as it's over 17 feet. If response got better when the box was turned around it's due to transfer function or the vehicle is just a sound barrier and the trunk will not allow that particular area to resonate through the cabin. If it was rta'd you'd have a better idea of what the issue is.

thinkign of make a big chance in subs
This has my vote for comment of the day. This disclaimer could probably prevent quite a few hurt feelings... Actually, I am a club DJ. I am fully aware of what he was referring to, i'm a newbie to this forum, and I know more than most people I meet about car audio. My last setup was 2x Kicker 07CVR12's in a 3.5 cube box port tuned @ 40hz. I had none of these cancellation issues, I'd wanted an Fi sub for a while and decided to try them out with an SSD15, ported in 3 cubes tuned @ 37 hz port back sub up. I believe that the 60-70hz dropoff (where it is most noticeable ~12db) is a result of cancellation from the secondary waves bouncing off the rear of the trunk (near the tail lights) and hitting the waves coming off of the cone at just the right timing, there are only about 4 inches of clearance above the subwoofer cone, the roof of the trunk lined with Q-mat and i'm not sure how much is necessary, my rear deck is mostly metal and simply punching holes in it is out of the question. I have only a decent sized ski hole to vent into the cabin, which was fine with the kicker 12's. Note that when i open my trunk and watch the subwoofer and box, 2 things happen; the subwoofer itself vibrates and moves the box around slightly (wasting energy that needs to be sound) and while the trunk is open, the sub seems to play all the frequencies i give it just fine, So i am assuming my sub up port back orientation is causing cancellation issues in that top bass range. I'd also like to note that it seems that right after 70 hz the response picks right back up again, i cross my sub and mids at 100hz and it plays everything just fine up to that point. Even higher if i turn the LPF up a bit, i have my subsonic on about 32hz, phase @ 0, no bass boost, my gains are set correctly. If i multiply the tuning freqency of the box by 2, does that give me the point where the subwoofer cone is moving the most? Sit in the back seat and see if that is indeed the problem. If this is the case then making a big change in drivers wouldn't sole the problem, or try turning the box around.

thinkign of make a big chance in subs
Since your a noob and don't have the Sean to English translation for dummies yet I'll elaborate. Humans can not localize or in other words tell where sub bass comes from in the vehicle. Most subwoofers actually have physical cut offs well over 200 hz. Some over 500.

Helps when you have arguably the two best transducer engineers in the world in your corner. I can't take all the credit.

WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE A "COMP" SECTION
And as far as competitors not liking forums I'm sure if they knew that SSA has a no asshat policy they'd like to come here.

WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE A "COMP" SECTION
Great we arleady have competitors now we just need an area for them to start putting their knowledge down on paper and for others to ask questions. Like I said I am on here at least hourly and hate having to go elsewhere to find info.

Ethos on low power?
I do not see any reference to 12" driver parameters in the pinned section. Do you have Klippel results for the 12"? T/S parameters? Recommended enclosure sizes? Thanks.PS as you know from PM's I am interested in two 12" that is why I am asking these questions. I 2nd this. Q, can you create a specific detail page, something similar to SSA's? With the Rms rating, weight, OD/ID, etc.The link for parameters are pinned for the 15. I still yet have to get together a schematic of the driver. The 12 is going out for Klippel testing this week. I'll have results on it by the end of next week hopefully. However the original sample was a 12 so I already know how it will perform I just want to double check it.

01 'Zuk vs 18" xcon
Check and make sure nothing is lodged in the gap beefier you yank the cone off. Also the sub on my Facebook is a DR motor.

That's pretty odd. They use precision coils. Surprised to see then let go before getting stinky.
