  1. http://www.****/forum/direct-sound-solutions/156847-primo-mmag-sq-driver.html#post2139704 Why in the world would another manufacturer go to another's section and critique their work? If my competitors made shit product I'd keep on letting them.
  2. until my battery dies
  3. 3d rendering of the motor with the ring. As you can see cool air will be sucked by the pumping action of the coil directly into the gap while radiant heat will be absorbed by the heat ring. Final dimensions may change but it shows the general idea.
  4. Y'all some old puckers.
  5. As is the heat ring gives the coil ~100 inchs^2 of surface area to radiate heat onto. Or and area 10 x 10 inches. If you have ever touched the motor of a sub after playing a while you can image how much heat this could help get rid of. Especially since cool air will be pulled directly over the heat ring directly onto the coil.
  6. I had a long talk with Enrique the other day. And he gave some suggestions to improve the overall performance of the driver. 1. First and for-most the gaps needed tweaking. The troughs between the gaps were a little high in flux. So I needed to seperate the gaps a little. In the process of doing this I decreased the thickness of the plates, increasing the flux intensity while doing so actually allowing less magnet needed in the motor. 2. Being I did not need as much magnet between the top plates I was able to include a heat ring between the bottom top plate and the upper magnet. The ring will have sinks on the interior and exterior a kin to a amplifier heat sink. The ring itself will (8) channels cut into it radiating outward. The pumping action will pull air from outside of the motor directly onto the coil while also pulling air across the heat sinks further drwing heat from the coil. 3. Due to the geometry changes on the top plates I was also able to shrink the coil 2mm 4. faraday rings were added to the pole which is more effective than having faraday rings outside the coil. Doing this we get less impedance rise due to less heat, less induction due to shorter coil, less induction due to faraday rings on the pole, and increased power rating. Also the aluminum heat ring helps reduce flux modulation of the gap keeping BL more linear. Below is a cut view of the motor and the heat ring. The heat ring has been colored blue in the motor. Depending on the capabilities the dimensions of the sinks could change.

  8. There is a company here in NO that had all that 10 years ago. The company was bought out by someone and it got squashed.
  9. Talked to Klippel today. Gotta see if any of my suppliers carry crown.
  10. They rated their amps at one ohm. Below one ohm will void the warranty.
  11. Do not know. No one is producing a subwoofer with a motor this strong. This is why it's R&D and I need someone with experience with large drivers like the IA Warden or DD Z
  12. As the title says I am looking for competitors to do R&D on a large SPL driver. For testing purposes only one driver will be available in either a 12, 15, or 18. This is a very large driver weighing about 105 pounds. Below is a comparison picture of the driver's coil next to a Ethos and FI BTL N3 coil. The coil is 95mm long 3 inch 8 layer dual one ohm coil with an Re of .9 ohms per coil. The coil produces a BL of 51.5 and a motor force factor of 1,484. I am looking for a seasoned competitor with a few years experience preferably someone that has attended nationals a few times. If you are interested send me a PM with your info.
  13. Yes, they just have to be at the address the package is sent to. FedEd has three options. The first is they just drop it off and the driver marks it as delivered. The second is anyone can sign for it, a neighbor for example. The third is the option I use which someone at the address must sign. From there is there are any issues I have the name of the person and the signature that they signed logged in my data base. From here on out I will just set up the shipment before hand so I have the tracking number on hand and can add the email address of the customer so both I and the customer can be updated during the shipping progress.
  14. I'm gonna try to get them. My FedEx account is being used however if my email address isn't entered at the time of processing I won't know until the package arrives at the destination. They will however need Direct Signature. They will not be left on doorsteps unattended.
  15. UPDATE 9/2/13 Presale will end Sunday 9/8/13 @ midnight central time. Several drivers are shipping to customers right now. Hopefully this week sometime they will be able to post some reviews.
  16. Maui Jim the same company they are talking about makes prescription sunglasses.
  17. for an hour or so
  18. Well .6 x 2 = 1.2 ohms. Where did the 1.6 cone from? If your meter isn't broken then you have two different ohm drivers. Sometimes the ohm will be written on the coil.
  19. You're the only one I'd expect to ever say something like that. Whatcha making? uhhhh..........boiled peanuts in....................
  20. I'd like to see but it just keeps loading, and loading, and loading, and loading for me.
  21. fixing to go buy a sack of peanuts to boil
  22. the steel was to get enough clearance for the coil to travel in. yea but wasn't cost effective
