  1. I think she said buy HER a car and you get to patch ur old truck up for yourself.
  2. I make money while I drive. Drive time at my normal hourly rate plus 45 cents a mile. The milage alone is e ought to pay for my vehicle plus a little in profit.
  3. The new civic gets 42.3 MPG @90% interstate mileage. Already put ~1,100 miles on it since Thursday morning.
  4. Wrap around gaskets can be problematic on bare wood. If it is only leaking around the sub get some 1/4 inch thick foam from the hardware store and stick around the baffle cut out.
  5. The same way a baseball is wrapped. You have to create a false panel on the panel itself. Google or go on YouTube for Brian Schmitt of mobile sound solutions. He may have videos. You can see the seams on the mustang pics that is created with this process.
  6. Reddish

  10. You think you have enough experience to properly install a 3 way set up.If I put three's up there it will only be a 2 way installs in cars with really nice interiors always interest me. are the stock pillars upholstered in suede? would you flock your finished pods or go with another material? Flock? If he is good like me he would wrap in suede.
  11. Last time I talked to him this week he said he was wrapping some other stuff up then he would start on mine. It's just the nature of the business. EVEVERYONE runs behind by about 50%. Also he's doing a good bit more than just testing. He's actually making videos walking through the entire testing and explaining everything as much as possible so my customers have an idea of what is involved in the R&D and why it's done. I think it's pretty cool that he would take his time on a little no name company when he could be using his time on other customers like Dayton who have seriously deep pockets. It really shows the type of guy he is.
  12. Anyone ever tell you that you kinda look like Gary Biggs? Anywho, don't be concerned with what is "Recommended". Pretty much no one now a days explains why and for what purpose the recommended enclosure is for. Best to start off with the amount of power you can afford. Then you can pick from the subs in that power range and figure out what will work with your allowed area.
  13. On a serious note I do need someone with a little sense to try out a SQ sub sample.

  15. Man, ur worse than a woman buying cloths. Just do what I tell the ole lady. Just buy one of each.
  16. The whole cap is vacuum formed from a solid piece of plastic and the color is screen printed. the cap laying on a 15 cone
  17. for as complicated as it was to make (5 axis) while keeping the letters from distorting I think it came out pretty damn good
  18. Oooooohhhhhh. Uncle sam's gonna eat ur ass up. As of this month Im at ~850 OT hrs for the year.
  19. For 1,500 I'd be buying fire bricks and building my own egg too.
  20. I mean not a clue. The first time on the job no supervision asking me how to do their job.
  21. Ever work next to your competitor and they don't have a clue what they are doing.
  22. They are essentially the same as the Alpine X is the same as Scan Speak? Or are they the same speaker? Any type of frequency responses available of the raw drivers to compare? I use the same cone on my Ethos as SSA Icon and a IA Warden but that doesn't mean they are the same.
  23. You can make an extremely meaty 3" coil to handle power. Maybe one of the main reasons to use a larger diameter coil is to make the pole larger. Metal has a cut off point in which it can no longer absorb or allow magnetism to flow through it. (Akin to copper wire and electricity). When it hits this point, also called "hitting its knee" it can cause flux issues and if severe enough can demagnetize the magnets. The other is true also. If too much metal is in a motor compared to the magnetic force it can act as a resistor impeding magnetic flow resulting in a loss of magnetic flux in the gap.
  24. I can understand the all in one application. But I smoke all my sausage, bacon, hams, ect at one in a fairly large 8x8x8 smoker that's about 50 years old. Although I do have a smaller Cajun microwave when we have parties and such we have ~150 people show up so I use my large one that fits a whole hog plus a 6x2 foot grilling area and a rotisserie that'll hold 12 frier chickens.
