  1. are you concerned about voltage or current draw? Voltage will not affect current draw. Most leds are 1.5 volt and use some type of resistance to retrict current. if you attach a normal LED on a 12 volt battery it will blow. Stick a 1000 ohm resistor in line and it'll work fine.
  2. The current draw will vary depending on how they are seriesed and or paralleled. Also the strips or controller could have resistors to limit current draw.
  3. Uhhh... they have them. 4. ...but you can give us a call around 2 in the morning and see what we are looking like.
  5. Nothing like driving 1 1/2 hours to work to find out they don't know when they are going to get to your shit.
  6. If the the battery is not grounded, as I believe it's not by the way the post was written then you are only running off the rear battery. This would be a reason you aren't seeing a difference
  7. hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  8. Not a fan of liquor myself. But I do have a bottle of King'a castle.
  9. SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. All of that shit is like crack. The more you take the more you gotta take.
  11. Clamp test means nothing....It depends on who you ask...I'm well aware of the reasons you made that statement though.A clamp test is not an RMS rating. Search the definition of RMS and you will understand. If it hasn't been hooked up to a Audio Precision or Power Cube analyzer then the rating means absolutely nothing. It also means nothing if the parameters at which the numbers measured are not listed.
  12. Changing the fluids for hurricane season. Got a little power to spare in case anyone needs to bring a camper or two over.
  13. not bad for your first rodeo.
  14. Found a Metra dealer price list today while cleaning while cleaning. BAD motherpucker. If you dont watch th ewhole thing skip to 3 minutes.
  15. So do the Italians.
  16. PS2 are just about the best daily tire around for high horsepower cars.
  17. been for sale by a guy on ****? Filled with concrete?
  18. How much?wonder who makes that body
  19. no, too expensive to manufacture
  20. monitoring will not be avaliable on these. In the future maybe but not at least in the next 6 months. And if done it would be attached to the motor and wouldn't affect softparts as it would add mass affecting parameters
  21. I got you, normally a increase of 200 kelvin. The glue used on my coil are suppose to be rated for 250 celcius until it fails. The thermocouple option would run about 30 bucks. Im looking into other option though. Pat and Enrique has designed some transducers for Charles Grecco and someother pro audio people that offer monitoring. Not just temp but other things like xmax, distortion, ect. It would only cost pennies to machine the driver to accept the devices. The majority of the price would just be the piece itself ant installation onto the driver.

  23. Do you know if his findings will be available before the preorder is over? Yes, testing will be done this week. I will not have any final drivers built until so. I know everything mechanically is good but the spider pack may have to be adjusted a tad, but I highly doubt it. Also the 12 has to have ~35 grams added to the moving mass to be able to play in a 1.5 foot box properly. This may vary but I will know the exact number once I have a final BL number. I know its estimate but I want the final driver as perfect as possible. If everything is not ready then THE preorder will be extended until so, but I highly doubt it would be any more than a couple of days. Also, i just seen that thermal couple option in the other thread and have a question on that. Can that only be done on unassembled drivers? yes, the top plate would need to be machined to accept it. However if you google you can find a variety of thermocouples that can be placed next to the coil via one of the vent holes in the basket. All you would need is something to read the resistance that occurs in the thermocouple. Its the same principle as the BBQ thermometers with the leads that you stick in a roast or turkey. I'm assuming the preorder time will be for drivers already assembled? Yes preorders are for assembled drivers unless you wanted the BP option which I HIGLY recommend not doing if you have the space for normal ported as the recommended ported enclosure will result in more output. Also, if i'm right about above, is there an option for already assembled drivers that's just as effective? see above Also, what is the estimated ambient threshold for these readings obtained if you know? ~1800 - 2000 watts thermal. I had the sub being tested in the 3 foot box on a IA 20.1 with the gain cranked all the way up with the LPF turned to ~80 and the SSF all the way down and saw no problems. Only a bit of smell after playing a bass sweep for 5 minutes straight.
  24. Cheap and stupid is the project's motto. At least for the first box I'm going with particle board. Resined inside. If I can muster 141+ with the particle board, MDF should get me closer to the goal. I'm still unsure how much cone excursion helps in getting a big score. In simulations the BTL 12 barely moves at 50Hz yet it's killer on the meter (consistent 151.4dB with 3500w). So one thing Project stupid will do is help me understand this sport some more. There is a correlation between peak output and excursion. Too much or too little cone movement at the desired frequency and the driver can't build pressure effectively.
