GM Wiring Harness Changes: '90s - '00s
Pull the headunit out and look at it. GM went to the new plug during various years depending on the model. Depending on the year the headunit controls, air bags, oil pressure, door chime, seat belt chime, ect. And if it is the new plug it will not have accessory in the harness.

Cablguy184's 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan
If you decide you need a larger format sub I have a couple xbl^2 motors that could make some nice little drivers. I even have some blank dust caps to make them stealth.

Are Rear Speakers Necessary?
No they are not neccissary. But it depends on who you talk to. Rear fill's purpose is to reproduce reflections found naturally in live events. When at a live performance there will be sound bouncing from structures/objects around and back forward. Preferably there should be no reflections in the venue but sometimes it's not possible. Olde school Sq guys used rear fill. But did they sound as good or better than today's set ups?

How to calculate port length in this design?
No we were speaking of the MMAG motor in the bottom pic.

How to calculate port length in this design?
The motor is 220mm or 8.6 inches OD

How to calculate port length in this design?
Post your maximum deminsions. Those cut outs look close in the pic. Mounting depth on the Ethos is ~9 inches. The motor alone is 5 inches tall.

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
~65 pounds but won't know until I set them on a scale.

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
You say. 3 feet I assume you mean the 15's. Three cubic feet is not on the small side. These subs are specifically designed for small enclosures. The 15 is designed for 3 cubic feet tuned to 32 hertz. This is optimum for a flat response. It can down to about 2 feet ported and up to about 4 feet. Over 4 feet tuned to 32 the gain gets over 3db. The 15 in 3 feet tuned to 36 hertz has about a 3db gain from around 50-30 hertz.

Also. This motor have more mechanical clearance then the baskets. So you will bottom the spider (~45mm) before the coil will. And the surround will reach its limits before the coil can jump the gap.

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
The preorder is null and void. Those that have purchased have been reimbursed due to the much longer than expected lead time. The price is being re-evaluated. I can say that the 12 will not be over $350 with shipping. Keep in mind the motor in these weigh 50 pounds. I can only gaurantee stock under certain circumstances. Power wise I don't know how other companies come up with their ratings. The Ethos as well as any other transducer that I manufacture will be loaded into a recommended enclosure (the ethos 12 being 1.5 feet tuned to 32 hertz and the 15 being 3 feet tuned to 32 hertz) and subdued to a Klippel power verification test. The test involves the driver in the enclosure subjected to a 24 hour run on a amp capible of 5,000 watts rms. during this time the analyzer moniters things like coil temp, excursion, impedance, internal box temp, distortion. The analyzer automaticity adjusts gain when the driver reaches limits like a specific xmax, coil temp ect. Once this test is complete then I will have a comfortable publish rms rating.

Holy destructosaraus Rex. I assume this isn't magnetized yet since it isn't throwing off the earths axis quite yet, and the fact thta the screw can actually be that close lol No. They don't have a magnetizer strong enough to fully saturate them so they are done here in the US. It's hard to tell due to the horrible pic. But the very top plate on that motor is ~7.5" OD and 1 inch thick. The wider part is the bottom top plate and is 11 inches OD.- Ethos 12 and 15 pre order

The factory sent some really crappy pics that are below. The bottom one is the Magnetar. (Big 270 MMAG). I am being told that one was air freighted to me if so ill have pics with it coned to a15. As soon as I'm happy with T/S parameters ( I have the ability to measure at my shop) then they will go to Patrick to go on the Klippel where T/S parameters will be verified. Then the drivers will be loaded into their recommended enclosures and put through a 24 hour test to verify power handling.- Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
Order shipped a few weeks ago. I should have them in my hands on the 19th- Door panel help
And that is perfectly fine. But this is not the SQ section and the guy wants what he wants. He did not ask for an opion of what to do. And even that he did not, if a suggestion would have been proposed of what to do would have been acceptable. But "3 Mids, yea that's gonna sound great" is not a proper response for the question asked from a mature adult that is supposed to moderate this forum- Door panel help
Because I pay good money for this section and I won't put up with Narcassistic and condisending bullshit here. If the post would have been helpful it would have stayed. But it wasn't, it was the same ole asinine comments that had no bearing on what the OP asked. I have already talked to Aaron about this as I have been getting complaints from friends and clients that I send to this forum. The only members are going to feel welcome is if they are helped. There is a big difference between helping people do the correct thing and being an arseho because people want to do something you find stupid.- Battery Tender on an AGM ok?
I think they have a AGM version now though.- Battery Tender on an AGM ok?
Used one on my viper for 4 years. Tendered every day.- Door panel help
I no longer do installs. PM Bassaholic on here. He works at a shop in BR.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
It personally think its pretty shitty myself. The guy obviously has a budget and that budget includes sponsorship which helps pay for his product. He's already said he's open to adjusting what what he has to work with. Its kinda like you have the newest model mustang cobra and a young kid as excited about talking to you about his 1999 v6 but he gets mocked because its not up to par. A little humility goes a long way.- Trident 12'' sub (an on going design thread)
nope, it's on the far back burner. Not many people will want a 150 pound sub besides it will literally be impossible to ship via ground due to the weight. Guestimate on price would be in the $1,200 range judge by what my other stuff costs to manufacture. The only way to save weight to make it shipable will be to make it out of neo. At the moment neo it expensive however I have access to patented technologies that are very low reluctance that would minimize the amount of neo used. Right now I have to focus on what people will actually pay for. The magnetar is no slouch either though and samples of it are due in with the production of the Ethos. It has a motor force factor of ~350 with daily coil and ~3,200 with the SPL coil and offers 45mm xmax one way with the daily coil. Beta versions of it with 12 spoked baskets will run in the $500 range. - Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
