3 ported on 1500 or 4 sealed on 2K
No, completely incorrect. Almost every ported enclosure will have at least a quarter octave lower F3 than sealed.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
It works/loads/posts just fine here. I haven't been able to log in for a while You gotta be 10% smarter than what you are trying to operate.

Asking recommendations for 2 dc audio level 2 15s
9.2 cubic feet gross. like I said it's gonna be extremely tight. Maybe if you have T/S parameters a little modeling could be done

Asking recommendations for 2 dc audio level 2 15s
Two 15's behind the back seat? If so that's gonna be an extremely tight fit.

(4) 12" Ported Enclosure
Figured I'd just put the amps on the back. The rectangular opening towards the bottom will be a false floor for access to the spare tire. The car has factory vents on both sides of the fender wells that I will be attaching exhaust fans to pull air for cooling the amp area.

Never used the Maxis. But the ITP hole shots are good. Sure these would be just as good.

winisd help
The problem is all the programs figure port velocity based on small signal parameters. By the time the sub hits xmax it's cms has changed by at least 50 percent affecting piston acceleration and Fo which is directly related port velocity peak point and speed. You're better off using Small's formula and using proper xmax figure.

School me on box design
and as brad said about considering the end port lenght. Most formulas already account for this. For example the folowing formula: Lv= (1.463 x 10^7 x R^2) / (fb^2 x Vb) -1.463R The red part of the formula accounts for end correction.

School me on box design
Don't design the port based on velocity. All of these programs design based on small parameters. when a properly designed driver reaches xmax it's cms changes 50%. This change(stiffening) of the suspension affects piston velocity which is directly related to the velocity of air going through the port. Because these programs can not account for this they are inaccurate. Instead use Small's minimum port area formula: dv=39.37(fb x Vd)^.5 dv= minimum port diameter fb= tuning frequency in hz Vd= cone displacement volume in cubic meters: = sd x xmax NOTE: xmax is NOT the rating most manufacturers use which will be stated as 70% BL rating. It is defined as coil over hang. which means measure how much the coil seen above the top plate.

Fiberglass Materials - What you need, and what you must know! - VI
Besides your logos all over it, that cure sheet is a perfect knock-off of what Brian Schmitt has been handing out to his training customers for a decade. I would say that's where you originally got the info from but you would never catch him laying torn mat on onto anything. He ALWAYS uses a full sheet and ALWAYS wets out the mat before applying it to the work piece. And that roller is not for wet out it's for removing air. And that black pigment, it's for making bubbles easier to spot.

I vote Brad gets his mod status put on probation for not having a build log up.

That's a whole different can of worms.

No it will not get louder with larger speaker wire.

Amplifier Gains and Preouts
No, completely incorrect. Google the definition of a gain.

6 15" Obsidian's and 10k......the rebuild!
Sadly Mrs. Gates passed away a couple months ago:( Her vehicle and trailer were sold to a friend of mine who will be bringing it to various shows in her memory. No shit ? Damn, she was in pretty good health the last time I talked to her. Sad to hear she was an awsome person.

Is she competing or just going to the show? I thought the retired in 06

DD1 near Orange County CA??
Quentin Jarrell replied to Garrett Tait's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electricalhow would you go about finding your stereos max undistorted volume? you have an o-scope lying around? It's impossible to do with music. It's dynamic. All music is different therefor all setting would be different for every song played. Besides speakers are rated at 10% distortion and subwoofers are rated at 20% distortion. Which means you can play a subwoofer up to 20% distortion and it not be audible. So tuning an amp for no distortion is worthless.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
On the way back from gatlinburg, Tn. There was a wreck where a mini van had rolled several times off the interstate. Apparently the passenger had their feet on the dash board at the time of the wreck. Their bare feet was still on the dash with the roof caved in on top of them.

Quentin Jarrell replied to Garrett Tait's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalClipping and distortion does not blow a speaker. Too much power does.

Fun weekend reconing Obsidian 18's
You can spray CA remover and yet it sit. Most of the glue will then come off with a scrapper
